Great experience with promar engine's! Got the new engine from them quicker than expected and looked perfect. After installing I ran through break in period and took it to tuner to double check everything was still on point. Runs great with 15lbs of boost and will deal with them in future if needed. I upgraded to forged crank and head studs for my needs
Purchased a Non-AFM 5.3 to replace a failed engine in my Silverado. Shipping was fast and affordable. The engine runs great. Have around 1000 miles on it after having it tuned by Michigan Motorsports and HP Tuners. I changed out the engine in my 2016 Ram pickup, it was a 5.7 litre Hemi with 261,000 miles for a Promar remanufactured long block and couldn't be happier, I've been commuting back and forth to work with it for 2 months now and hasn't given me any problems, Thanks Promar...
Everything went as planned. The engine shipped quickly and well packaged. The reman engine was clean as can be. Paint marked for torque settings. We saved the packaging for the core return.
The new engine has a few hundred miles on it, and all is well. Old school Ford 7.3 IDI diesel.
Everything was fine with the exception of the block threads for the headers. Several bolt holes were almost impossible to get a bolt to start. Long block arrived in a timely manner packaged very well. Was easy to set the core back in the crate and return.
These guys are the ultimate professionals. They were on time with the delivery of my remanufactured 7.3 IDI. The engine has been on for two months now and it runs great, has awesome e oil pressure and power and does not use any oil. As an FYI. The engine is in an 18,000 pound roll back.
The gaskets that were sent failed on first startup causing massive oil leak, costing me over 200$.
Crank seal failed as it wasn’t the right one costing me money. I haven’t sent my core back yet as I hope they will reach out and discuss this issue of sending defective/wrong parts as obviously it can be seen in photo that these are not the same. when I called there was no answer
The top seal in the picture is the crank seal from GM and the bottom is failed seal from promar, spot the difference?
Considering this was installed correctly (I was there watching it be installed along with ase certified family member) this is most definitely an issue.
I’m worried about the integrity of the rest of the motor as this happened on first startup, I wonder what else isn’t right.
If issue is solved in a timely manor this review will be removed. If not solved the BBB will be contacted in regards to this.
Oh just to add the motor was bought around the first of Jan, I made sure to put the shipping to be sent out on 1/15 so there would be plenty of time. The motor didn’t get sent out on that day even after i called. It got sent out supposedly on a Friday and didn’t reach me until the next Friday. Over a week and a half hold on when It was scheduled to be installed, this also costed me time and money as I didn’t have my truck to make money and I had to store it at the mechanic shop.
I ordered the supercharger ready 4.6 for a 2001 Saleen with a Kenne bell charger. The engine is handling the boost and no issues whatsoever. I will definitely give Promar my business in the future.
We purchased a remanufactured 2020 L83 5.3 AFM delete. Communication with customer service was superb. The instructions were clear enough, we documented everything they required replacing and then went beyond that just due to the mileage on the vehicle. Used HP Tuners to delete the AFM in the ECM. Just performed the required 500 mile oil change and its running great. Pictures show: 1) mated to the new 6L80e, 2) installed with the new water pump, vacuum pump, belts, tensioner, thermostat assy, new engine/transmission wiring harness, oil lines & trans lines. 3) close to done with new air filter.
This is the 3rd rebuilt engine (for three different Jeeps) we have purchased from them in the past 9 years. They have excellent quality and great customer service. We had two shipped to our home in Arizona, and the last one was shipped to a shop for us. The experience was smooth, and they communicated quickly. Our mechanic was impressed with their quality as well. While I hope not to need another engine anytime soon, I would buy from them again!
I had a great experience with Promar. I brought a 1963 Porsche 1600N engine to be rebuilt. He disassembled, mic’d all components, put in new bearings, new pistons and cylinders and rebuilt my heads. Etc…. Rebuilt my carbs, cleaned my block and repainted some component. The engine looked great. Had it installed and after a few minor tweaks by my mechanic it ran smooth and sounded awesome going on 6 months.
Mark was easy to work with, he researched my engine and brought it back to original specs. Very professional operation.
Ordered a new I-5 3.7L for my H3 Hummer, and it took a while to get, but well worth the wait. Runs like new. The mechanic whom installed it said they did a real nice job on the reman. Thanks !
My 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with 240,000 miles needed a new engine. I asked around and chose Promar based on their reputation. Price was right, shipping was great, install went without a hitch, and the engine performance was great! 50,000 miles later, it still runs like a top!

I basically brought a brand new 4g63 evo3 motor from engine depot ,had the motor with less than 30k . Drove it for a little bit, then decided to upgrade. Brought Manley pistons for standard bore ,with Manley rods also. Brand new!!! I Gave it for them to do MARK. He Changed me $1400. First of all he put the motor together too tight, it was hard to turn over by hand from the crank. Called him told him about it he said it’s ok because it’s new parts. So now got the car running, it crank walked , pulled it then I seen that my pistons had scratches. Brought it back, he blames it on every part in the motor which it was a fresh rebuilt/ with new components. Now He tried to charge me $1600 , and said I need new pistons/ and the block redone. So I took it to a better machine shop that I knew about for years , he’s been doing machine works on engines for a long time . The new shop measured n checked the block n said who ever did this bored your block .5 over.brought my receipt back to MARK. He said that they don’t know what they are talking about he’s been doing this for over 50 years .I tried to reason with him in every way possible for a solution ,he denied all of them. so I took my motor back today 8/21/24. With a loss off motor, money ,time , and now I’m stressed out because I have to spend money for something I already paid for . Don’t go , or perchase anything, or even consider doing any type of business with this establishment. FYI MARK. You know who I am , u know my number. When u ready to rectify this situation .
I received my 4.6 Northstar Engine in July of 2023. Unfortunately the installation into my 96 Eldorado was delayed due to illness. When I fully recovered the installation went well but I had to repair some electrical wiring gremlins that took some time to diagnose and repair.
I must say I was very happy to see the quality of the work on the Promar rebuilt Northstar Engine and the care taken to insure it arrived in beautiful condition . It is now running and purring quietly under the hood of my Eldorado. Thanks again for your patience and excellent product. A special tip of the hat to the fine technicians who rebuilt this engine!
5.4 3v. Ordered this engine for my 04 F150 Custom Truck. Had it Comp Cammed & Tuned straight out the box! So far so good. Engine thumps like none other!! Just completed my 500 mile oil change. No issues at this point. Breaking her in slowly. Engine is very responsive and performing well. Promar is a great company to do business with. They really worked with me on my core so that I didn't lose my warranty. Both Robin and Kevin assisted in the process. Great customer service! Communication is key. Promar is a name you can trust!!!

THEY BUILT 3 PERFORMANCE MOTORS FOR ME WITH 1000 HP+ CAPABILITY. 2 OF THEM ARE CHEVY MOTORS LS1 AND THE OTHER ONE IS A 2JZBBTI TOYOTA SUPRA MOTOR. Purchased a 5.4 Triton for my old truck (2009 F150). Almost immediately after install, truck had the famous Cam Phaser knock. Promar sent me some rocker arms and lifters, saying it was impossible for my phasers to be making noise. Rode with the engine making noise for almost a year, and tore down the timing chains/camshaft assemblies. Every bearing ok the camshaft looked bad, and a failed timing chain tensioner were among some of the things I found. I pulled the motor and sent it back to promar for a warranty claim. After waiting several weeks for their warranty claim to “get pushed through”, I received the replacement. That motor lasted less than 50 miles before dropping a valve and grenading the piston and tearing up the motor yet again. Once more I pulled the engine and mailed it back to Promar, who took several weeks to get a replacement again. I didn’t bother this time, and bought a Ford a remanufactured engine for my personal truck, which has been trouble free and much more affordable. The promar engine returned and I installed it into a company truck that was blown up. A year down the road, the engine has a hideous knock and phaser tick, and has a coolant leak that we cannot find in any hose, so we are assuming the engine is consuming it.
I paid $3000 for a long block from Promar, and another $3000+ in my time and gaskets re-assembling/reinstalling warranty engines from them. They have refused to pay me my “shop time” for warranty repairs (which is a max of $500 or some BS) to Remove and Replace an engine, which I have done twice. Mark was very condescending and rude when talking about warranty claims, and I will make sure anyone I know does not waste their time and money at this excuse of a engine builder.
Interesting note, they appear to be review bombing. All of the reviews show to be from the same time, from accounts with 1 or 2 reviews and no other information
Engine shipped promptly. It went together with out issues and has been running great. Have put a little over 2000 miles on it now and I am very happy with my choice to go with Promar.

The engine I was looking for was available able to be shipped within a reasonable time to an exceptional shop, #AnthemAutomotive that did the install. The car I rebuilt is not your every day average ride and now I own one of the few '97 Cadillac Seville's left on the road because of #Promar! So far, I am extremely satisfied with the whole experience!
I took the car on a thousand mile trip after the break in period and could not be happier! I can only hope and pray the engine and warranty is as great they tell me and lasts me another generation! Thanks!
The block and cylinder head were rebuilt within a few weeks and were returned to me clean enough to eat off of, easy to prep for paint.

One of the most pleasurable business exchanges I've ever had. If you're looking for a well built performance engine, these are the people you're looking for. Comparable engines will cost you a third more. The quality of the build is extraordinary, the attention to detail is equally impressive and the price just can't be beat! I can't wait until my installer gets it in and we turn her up! A much needed improvement on my old 2004 Mustang. And I am sooooo glad to have found Promar. Brian worked with me closely to get me the deal I needed and even went above and beyond to make sure this happened. I couldn't have asked for more from a vendor and I will be recommending them to everyone I know! And I suspect so will Batten Motorsports, the shop with whom I do business for my car!
