I was so disappointed when I called to ask if someone would be able to cut a piece of slate that I have which was 25” by 20” and I needed it to be 17 “ by 7”. The woman who answered the phone said no they would not to do that unless it was purchased through them and it was defective. I explained it in a very nice way and asked if she had a suggestions as to where I could get it done. She said no. I then called another local establishment and was able to get it done with no problem! They had a great attitude and wonderful customer service. I am very disappointed with Braen because I have been using and referring to them for years. I now will use and refer and the company right around the road, INTERNATIONAL IRON AND STONE LLC - greeted me warmly and treated me as if I was purchasing $1000 worth of stone. Good customer service is definitely not overrated!

Joey was my delivery driver for the day. Had 4 yards of gravel for a dropoff into a residential driveway. Joey had to drive down about a100 ft driveway that wasn't much wider then the forklift, and he did an amazing job, didn't damage anything and not a single stone fell. This is the second time Joey's done a dropoff for me. 10/10 would recommend and use again.

Here's the short: Best client service in the area from the drivers to the office. Best pricing and schedule coordination too. Long: Started out going to Structural Stone in Fairfield for design ideas and pricing and had awful service from the visit to the quote. Called Braen Supply, got connected to the residential/homeowner line and Ryan Vervaet was beyond helpful. Ryan helped with finding their comparable line of product, took the the time to send me links and helped with the design and product selection; got the material delivered ahead of time and followed up throughout. I recommend Braen over any other shop and have recommended Ryan to others as well.

I had an unbelievable, terrific customer service experience with Braen Supply, in Haledon, New Jersey, with an associate named Dave Wood. I called about a specific stone I needed for my patio as we had some work done in the process one of my Cambridge pavers got destroyed and I needed this specific stone to fill in a hole. This man was unbelievably kind and did not stop until he was able to get exactly what I needed. It is refreshing to find someone who helps you to this degree. I would recommend Braen Supply and specifically Dave Wood to anyone who is considering doing their patio.

Highly recommend! Was in a pinch and needed gravel for a shed base delivered quickly. Julia was extremely helpful in getting what I needed and was able to schedule delivery for the same day! Julia was very helpful and friendly while conducting business through email. When I went to pick up my order there was a small problem but Julia and the yard staff worked out a solution that I was very satisfied with! You have my business in the future.

I requested an estimate on 2 items and received 2 written itemized quotes promptly from Julia. The process to pay and schedule delivery was very easy because of Julia. The delivery was on time and done quickly. Driver called me the night before. He was friendly and polite. I was reluctant because I had never ordered material of this type before but the process was painless. I think pricing was fair but I honestly could not tell you because the other company I called has yet to respond. Braen did a great job. Customer service oriented company.

Our experience with Braen was pefect, from ordering over the phone, to delivery! Rather than just dumping the gravel in our driveway, the driver dumped it in multiple piles to make it easier for us to spread. Could not ask for more

Excellent experience! Very easy to place an order and set up delivery. The delivery was on time and without any problems despite having low electrical lines across our driveway. Driver was able to place stones just where we wanted them dropped. We will use Braen again!

Julia was very responsive, a pleasure to work with, and explained that Braen could divide their truck to make our soil and gravel deliveries in one trip, saving us from paying for two deliveries. Communication from the yard on the day of the delivery was great. The driver was a great a guy and dumped our delivery in two orderly piles. Fantastic to work with you all, I'd be happy to do it again!

Edit: Got a call from a manager who was very polite and obviously concerned that I had a less than ideal experience. He explained that the supplier has been stringing them along (they prioritize higher volume items and keep bumping the production schedule) hence the vagueness of time frame. He also apologized for not delivering the other items separately. In general I have had a good experience with this company and will come back next time I need materials. I've added a star onto the review. --- Last year I ordered some gravel from these guys to top up the driveway. They delivered quickly and the driver even helped spread the load around the driveway since I was doing it by hand. 5 stars. This year I went back to get supplies for a couple patios. I had two deliveries schedule - a dump truck and a flat bed. The dump arrived in a couple days, similar to last time. However, some pavers I ordered turned out to be backordered, which I was told would take an extra few days time. Fast forward over a month and I still don't have any of the secondary load of supplies which includes some concrete sand and stone dust. I'm reusing some slate to do one of the patios and if I had the other stuff minus the pavers I could have gotten a lot of work done. I called for status updates many times and was always told a few more days. A week or two ago I asked for the sand/dust to be delivered separately. They said they would try, but never did it - it was obvious to me even while speaking that they never intended to send it separately, preferring to send one truck with everything. While I understand that from an efficiency perspective, keeping someone waiting over a month on five or six items because another was backordered is a lot to ask. Quality is good, prices are right, design help was good, delivery service is thoughtful and helpful. I'm annoyed at how the wait here was handled. If they had told me that it could be a month wait instead of a few days, I would have been fine. If they had sent me the other supplies to allow my work to continue, I would have been fine, too. Getting strung along while my projects stagnate is really frustrating.

Julia, who took our order, went above and beyond to explain different stone uses and prices, as well as get us a convenient delivery time. 100% Great experience. This place is organized! This was my first time having stone delivered to my home so I didn't know what to expect. I used the online estimator / quote. Julia got back to me right away answered all my questions, even offered to use my credit card and never even have to go there but I wanted to pay cash so I went to Haledon plant. People there were great and they accommodated my delivery date. The driver was early and called me when he was on his was like I asked. Like I said 100% ?. Buy here with confidence.

Driver called me on his way and was backing his truck down my driveway along a very narrow street. he was able to get in without touching my grass and the low hanging electric wires! He also dropped the gravel in multiple places to save my back from spreading it around afterwards. Really appreciated the help and will definitely order from Braen Supply again.

Excellent service from sales to delivery. Driver Dave showed up when he said he would and was able to drop our topsoil exactly where we needed it. Navigated our steep, windy driveway like a true pro! I would definitely use Braen again!

Contacted Braen by email which was answered by Mark with a quote and instructions to proceed with order. I responded by email to go ahead with the order and went to the store the next day to complete the order. Found Mark to be quick and efficient in completing the purchase and a delivery date was set. Delivery came right on time and found the driver Dave to be very helpful in dumping the load in several piles to make spreading easier.

Recently purchased a truckload of gravel without too much hassle and at a good price. The sales department was a bit rude but very to the point. The dump truck driver was actually much nicer than the sales department which was a bit ironic. The gravel was mostly the size I ordered but with some larger rocks mixed in.

Great quality gravel. Bought 3/4 clean, QP, and white sand. All the material I received was better then the local quary. The customer care is also top notch. Always order more. I had multiple reorders and they were faster each time.

If you know nothing about gravel, DO NOT rely on this place for help or guidance. The sales rep was unhelpful, unclear and very short with me, and when I called customer service, I was laughed at for asking questions. With this said, I still foolishly placed an order for 22 tons of gravel. As expected, this went south too. Instead of delivering the gravel, they cancelled the order b/c of lack of communication. They don't deliver on weekends and there was no enthusiasm or care to fix the problem. If you value good service, stay away from this place
