Such a fun time meeting Santa and Mrs Claus! The bake shop is excellent, the outdoor fire is cozy, and the farm is family-owned and they're oh so nice! Highly recommend a visit this holiday season ?

Nice and picturesque settling. They have pumpkin fields and wonderful assortment of homemade baked goods. Their Apple cider is the best I've ever had! Worth visiting!

I ordered a pie and as the website said it was ready, I went to go pick it up. I was told they did not have the pie. I was ready to be understanding but was met with shocking hostility and rudeness by one of the cashiers, to the point that other people in line looked shocked by the cashiers behavior. This will unfortunately be my last visit as I cannot support a place that treats its customers so badly.

This is a lovely family owned farm. We were lucky to visit in November and enjoy their delicious baked goods. There are farm animals and the opportunity to pick produce. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of parking and they take Apple Pay. A great bonus is that they did not ask for a tip when paying.

I love the dog friendly feature! I'd come on a weekday with my pups though, when it's less overwhelming - Saturday was super busy. Get on that line for baked goods sooner than later! The line was out to the parking lot, I couldn't believe it. Two Apple Cider Floats were $24, not bad considering it comes with a doughnut. They were pretty yummy! Tasted like an apple cider milkshake. We spent $50 in the market on half a dozen doughnuts, 1 pie, & 1 gallon of Apple cider. Unlike A. Casola, they accept cards here, they live in the present. Corn maze is $10, Sunflower maze is free. Pumpkins and apples are pay by the lb when exiting, no charge to enter. Apple cider baked beans were good, not so much the hot dog though - I'd like to see something like Apple cider Pancakes or maybe even Apple cider Waffles (with chicken) as a new menu item in the future. I think we found our new apple/pumpkin picking spot! ?

wouldnt bother risking getting pie because then youll get home after your trip, see that aside from the top that the rest of the crust is entirely underbaked and raw, and you'll have to go back and forth with the owner for an entire month where they offered a refund then just left you on read. literally a month. awful customer service in case you ever need it, and we are out of money on something we couldnt even eat and enjoy.

Had a lot of fun. We brought our dog and he loved it! Thanks for being dog friendly!

If you’re in the area, you definitely have to stop here and take a look around the shop. They make the most delicious old-fashioned donuts, and also have a great selection of other baked goods. They have home made jams and butters as well as their own ciders. This place has it all.

This place is a staple of my childhood and it never disappoints. Owned by the Pitney/Jacobsen family since 1851, the place is a gem. Everything is baked there, on the farm, fresh, so you barely get out of the car and you can already smell the donuts baking. The shop has fresh baked pies, donuts, pastries, and more, and all amazing! My personal favorite is the Harvest Pie, lattice top. Bring that home and serve warm with a scoop of ice cream and you are in heaven. You can order their pies for the holidays too, and it isn’t Thanksgiving in our family unless there’s a Hacklebarney pie or two on the table. Donuts? Cider donuts made from their own wood pressed cider, comes in plain, cinnamon, powdered sugar, and pumpkin. Buy more than you think you want, because you won’t get off the farm without eating at least one. They also have other food, all made with cider from the farm. I love their baked beans and cider hot dogs. Of course made with cider, they are slightly sweet and delicious. And of course there’s pick your own apples, a corn maze, and other fun stuff for kids. Me, I’m just there for the baked goods lol. The drive to get there is lovely; a windy country road along the river and rolling hills. Only open seasonally and even then, limited days open, so check their website.

Wonderful family friendly did you not charge admission to access Apple and pumpkin picking, is short easy to the orchard. On the weekends they have cider hotdog and a delicious apple cider slushy. Would recommend getting there early for parking and shorter wait times, the line often gets long to get into the general store.

This place is great for apple and pumpkin picking. Employees are so nice. The real attraction for me is their hotdogs! They make the dogs and the kraut in apple cider vinegar and the taste is incredible! Best kraut I've ever had. The baked beans and chili are also delicious. Can't recommend this place enough. Great stop for dogs and apple picking.

This has to be one of my favorite farms in the area. Their food/bakery is delicious and the service is excellent. Also an amazing pet friendly place. Such a beautiful ambiance for the whole family.

Visited in early November, and while the harvest season was over, we were delighted to be allowed to pick any remaining apples free of charge—turning it into a fun and exciting apple “hunt”! The corn maze was a blast—just the right mix of fun and challenge. We also tried their specialty lunch items like the cider hotdogs (so unique and tasty!) and were completely charmed by the adorable Golden Retrievers, stealing everyone’s hearts. The cider donuts were another highlight—deliciously soft, fresh, and impossible to resist. And of course, we couldn’t leave without trying their viral ice cream float drink—it absolutely lived up to the hype! This place is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a perfect fall day filled with delicious treats, cute pups, and memorable experiences. Don’t miss it!

This is an adorable little place. We go at least two- three times during the fall. We love the hot dogs that are cooked in cider. The farm isn’t super big but they have sunflowers, apples, pumpkins and a corn maze. They also have a market with tasty treats. They sell ice cream, donuts and pies. They accept card and there’s always parking. Very cute place to hang out for a few hours.

We stopped in hacklebarney’s on a Saturday afternoon. The farm looks like they have lots to offer from treats, apples, and more. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and all the smells of baked goods make you hungry. My wife and I got three different cider donuts as a dozen to take home for later. I would definitely stop in again.

Gorgeous farm! Came for the apple cider donut and it did not disappoint! It was very busy, long lines on a Sunday morning. As soon as we entered, the parking lot was full but there is another lot down the road with plenty of space. The market was small and had a long line despite that moved quickly. Market had plenty of baked goods and warm donuts. There were different variations of apple cider donut from maple glazed to cinnamon powder. There is a hot dog stand and small ice cream stand in which we got the famous ‘TikTok’ drink, the Apple cider float. It was good but too sweet for my liking. The vanilla ice cream sundae tasted better. Animal friendly and two golden retrievers in property. We didn’t try the pumpkin patch or corn maze. Next time ! Come early or on a weekday where it’s less busy. Overall very family friendly.

Very big farm and great fall family activity! They have apple picking, pumpkin patch, corn maze, apple cider & donuts Apple picking and the pumpkin patch here wasn’t too impressive. When we went there weren’t too many pumpkins to choose from But they have the most impressive corn maze that I’ve ever been to. It’s not only big but there’s also so many routes so I guarantee you will def get lost! And I didn’t realize how popular this farm was but the lines here is INSANITY What I love about this place is that they are pet friendly so we got to bring our pup with us!

NJ this time of year has many so called farms competing for your attention and $. But HF had a much more farm like feel for me. My mom was raised on a farm in Hunterdon county, so I remember what it was like in the 1950s. The apple cider donuts are in a class by themselves. I ordered the apple cider shake just so I could photograph it. Tasted as good as it looks

Maple Bacon Cider Donuts! Long line but moved pretty quickly. Delicious cider. Cute little place. Dog friendly Visited again in 2024. Did apple-picking - close, easy, inexpensive. Then we decided to do the corn maze with our kids. Did not enjoy at all. Took over an hour to get out of the maze and really wasn't fun. Too many dead-ends. Still loved the donuts and cider!

Cider donuts were so good, fresh eggs were awesome and lasted forever and the pick your own pumpkins/apples was so fun! Worth it for the drive alone, the area is beautiful

We went to Hacklebarney Cider Mills after a hike, and the place was buzzing, there were chickens and really cute golden retrievers that welcomed us to the farm. It was a gloomy cold-ish fall afternoon so we were looking forward to the refreshments. Our friends recommended apple cider donuts from the place, so we got that. They were very delicious, fresh and not overly sweet, which we really appreciated. I asked for my coffee options, and the lady at the coffee station recommended apple cider coffee, I was hesitant but I surprisingly enjoyed it. It was perfectly hot and perfectly sweet, was unique and scrumptious. The farm itself was pretty, place was really cute, and surroundings were serene. We binged on a picnic table outside the mill, and really enjoyed the colorful fall surroundings. Overall we had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our visit. I would highly recommend this place to folks visiting the area.

Delightful experience walking the working apple farm, with period details intact alongside golden retriever pens and an active chicken coop. Fresh food products galore within, including expert apple cider donuts of many variations; try the maple glaze. Syrups, condiments, pies, honey, soaps - you name it, they have a delicious or unique local item to try. A wonderful picturesque stop and the pastries are memorably enchanting.

Such a beautiful drive this time a year. Very clean and friendly staff, still plenty parking and pumpkins and can still do corn maze for $5 a person. That cider slushy was beyond what i expected, almost like taking a bite into the juiciest crisp apple. Apple crumble pies were also a must have.

Great little farm for fresh treats! Recommend stopping here after a nice hike or if you're just cruising by. The apple cider donuts are delicious and the best I've had so far. Cider slushee is also surprisingly delicious! Nice little picnic area for you to hangout with your family.

What a wonderful place to visit. I bought a pie which was delicious and so fresh and some soup and chili kits which are awesome. The donuts are other worldly. Highly recommend.

Really cute farm market. I thought there would be more fresh food but there was a lot of prepackaged goods. Everything looks great though, I'm excited to try everything I bought. Dry soups / herbs. The cheddar cheese was good but very mild. They also have an ice cream stand and food stand. I got the hot dog and cider slushy - the slushy was delicious! I bought some apple cider after trying it. UPDATE: I demoted a star from my initial review. The packaged goods aren't very fresh. The sausage I bought had expired on August 10th (almost 2 months expired!). Quite a few of the other packaged items don't have expiration dates so I'm unable to tell when they expire

A nice family hangout spot, you can spend couple of hours close to nature. They have apple orchards and pumpkin fields. Apple and pumpkin are sold by pounds. The corn maze is pretty big and free to enter. They have a shop that sells lots of homemade bakery items. There’s a food stall selling hot dogs and drinks. The farm has a dog park with two golden retrievers and a chicken shed. Very popular with kids.

We loved the farm, the bakery, the food. We had a pitstop to pick some water as we were thirsty after a good hike at the park and relaxed at the farm. Donuts over here were so tasty. They are light sweetened and not heavy, staff was so friendly and helpful in finding the right items.

I visited the cider mill over the weekend for the first time. I found out about this treasure by visiting the town of Chester's website. I went back in time. It is located off the beaten path on an old back road. You pull up to the dirt driveway and there is a picturesque old red barn with the cider mill attached. Several people were also visiting so I parked on their lawn right in front of the mill. I watched cider being made from the barn door. Smelled so delicious! Gotta watch for the bees! They don't really bother you! Around the corner you could purchase hot dogs with apple cider in the kraut, very tasty! Washed it down with a fresh cup of cider. As I walked towards the barn it smelled of baked goods. I walked in and the table had several different types of fruit pies, a small display had many other baked goods, so many to pick from. There were knick knacks, dips, soup mixes, cheeses etc., etc. The people who where working that day treated me like they had known me for years, truly love what they do! I of course went home with a bag full of treats!
