Depending on what your dropping off you have to drive to some pretty rough road.

Guy that works on the scale tries to talk me into heavy iron. Which is 50% less than the cast iron I had... Second time it happened. I'm sure he tries to Jew people down...

Usually very fair don't like dumping aluminum on big scale because it weights in increments of 20 lbs so if you have 131 lbs it gunna rock between 120 and 140 and you'll get 120 lbs. It not done to rip anyone off it's a ton scale.The people claiming they got ripped in freehold don't know what there doing. The guys are working hard and if your a beginner your gonna get yelled at. Learn to go with there flow and you'll be good.if your doing over a hundred bucks tip the guy before you start weighing up and he may not downgrade that rivet you forgot

Fast service. Every time I’m less then 10 minutes I’m done. Employees help out a lot and know what to do. Close to home

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE going here of you don't know how to Identify your scrap. Guy on the scale will try to make you drop everything as heavy. I had 3 aluminum engines (1 honda accord k20, 1 jaguar xj6, 1 bmw x5, and 1 jaguar 3.9l)all had all manifolds harness and plastic valve covers removed and 3 transmissions. Guy at the scale said they are heavy metal not aluminum motors when everything including the oil pans were aluminum. They state on there website that pay on aluminum motors and heavy is half the price so I had leave with and went 10 minutes down the road to Bud at B&B towing IN Morganville who paid 400 dollars for them. These guys were trying to take advantage of me not know I've been running my own scrap out my shop. These tried to rob me and half the price of the material I brought them i would advise anyone to go somewhere else because these guys are dishonest

Been going to Beacon for years and always treated fairly and with a smile. Good folks over there. Update: just visited Beacon again this morning and between still high precious metals prices combined with general consumer goods prices it makes more sense to me than ever to make collecting scrap metal a justified hobby. Especially if one knows the basics of the process. After $100+ gasoline fill, it's nice to offset it with some recycling money. As always everyone at Beacon Scrap Metal company is friendly, knowledgeable and thankful for my visit.

Would give them no stars if I could people there are just rude and totally miserable. They try to take advantage of you by not marking things as they should be.

Guys who work there are aholes and try to rip you off in any way they can. Payed me communication wire prices for THHN for years. Maybe my own fault for not noticing but they will try to rip you off

Accidentally rung me up for dirty stainless when it should have been clean. The woman called me back to apologize and made right by it! Now that’s customer service!!

Service is fast. Everyone is nice here except for Dom, who was being a piece of s*** for absolutely no reason. Too old to be having an attitude to customers who are being nice. Extremely absurd & immature for his very old age.

They have an organized system and pay well. I didn't have to wait too long to be serviced either.

I've come here multiple times, and every time, I've had positive experiences with them. They seem upfront, so I never suspect they might be trying to cheat me through manipulating the tares. This is important to me, as other places I've gone to in the past have always acted shady. I think moving forward, I'll only come here with my scrap metal. Their prices are competitive and they always treat me well.

I have been going to beacon for over 20 years. The staff has come and gone but they still get good people. Very helpful, they keep the line moving. There prices are very good although I can't believe the price of aluminum cans was low ( .30 cents a pound) I guess it has been awhile since I last went. I have some wire I need to bring next month. 👍👍👍👍

Aside from the fifteen minute coffee break I was in and out of there quick and got a good price for my scrap

I had called Beacon on Thursday.. unfortunately we had closed up our Freehold location Toys R Us ... explained that the company the liquidator called never showed and we needed to vacate the next day. Beacon dropped a container for our metal in less then an hour!!! Also picked up the very next day just in time to vacate. Thank you for making a difficult time for us easier! Recommend 100%

been going here for over 20 yrs , best prices & service on scrap in the central nj area. if you follow the market & live in central nj, you will go there. ive never been beat on a scale or price.

Some of the best prices paid, well organized and accurate. Shutting down for brakes at certain times can be annoying but they have to rest sometimes.

been going here over the local competitor. by far they have friendlier staff and good prices. i always weigh my scrap and their scales are accurate. i will continue to do business with them for a long time

I remember going to this yard with my dad at the age of 5. He was a car dealer in town and swore by them. It is the same now as it was then. They are always courteous and helpful. Keep up the great work and THANKS.

In response to the bad reviews that our company has recieved, I would like to inform the public that these accusations are not true. * All non ferrous materials are unloaded by Beacon Metal staff, all ferrous materials are unloaded by customer in designated area of yard. * We do not close for random hours, we take a 15 minute break in the morning, 30 minute break for lunch, and 15 minute break in the afternoon. Both of our locations are open Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. * We pride ourselves on accurate weights and dependable service. * Our prices are always competitive, if not higher then the competition. Just remember, "the price you get paid, is just as important as the weight you get paid for." Always know what you have no matter where you sell your scrap. This place has only one benefit sometimes they help me unload. Otherwise go ANYWHERE else. They randomly close so you may have to sit there for an hour. Other places give much better prices.
