hey i’ve been trying to call to schedule an appointment for furniture drop off and no one is answering the phone. i purchased furniture a week ago and couldn’t pick it up due to a snow storm. i’ve been trying to get in touch because i don’t want to loose my furniture.
These folks, for the most part, are great - heard some guy in their break area criticizing ppl on food stamps, and I just found it insane in a place that is meant to help ppl ?. Anyway, absent that person, the prices are reasonable and allow for the community to afford not just necessities, but also at times nice things (found some great quality winter boots for 10 bucks!). I got the feeling that they believe in their mission, and overall want to do good for the community. There’s so much grift and greed everywhere these days, it’s refreshing to come into a thrift store and find items priced at thrift store prices, and to know that the money does good work. I hope they continue in this spirit, and I will continue to support them.
The clothing sections are much smaller than in previous summers, but still plenty of nice dishes, cookware, bric-a-brac, furniture, and accessories. Reasonable prices. Treasures galore. As advertised, completely accessible with a ramp and aisles wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
I love JSRM!! I can go in on a whim and find something I need or just want and I believe in their heartiness to help. The staff is quietly cooperative and generous to all. They have fixed up the store so very much and they get good treasures. I do my birthday and christmas shopping there as much as I can.
awesome little local thrift store that puts homeless people to work and supports them. They are always attentive if you want to look at something behind the counter. Store is much cleaner since the re-arranging of things.
The Thrift Shop at the Rescue Mission is a good place to donate articles you no longer need that are still usable instead throwing them away, people who do not have a lot of money to spend can use them, they also serve supper to the people who need food.
Undeniable, it's the hidden treasure of Asbury Park. Jersey Shore Mission should be you next stop in rediscovering Asbury Park. Every day restocking of donated and closeoutsd keeps me stopping by.
Prices are more than reasonable and unpretentious. Keeping Asbury employed and relevant.
Friendly thrift store. A little bit of everything. They have furniture too . All proceeds go to a men's shelter. If you find a treasure there, you are also helping someone out.

We receive numerous phone calls from people about removing unwanted animals from their property. WE ARE A MEN'S HOMELESS SHELTER.
Some people would argue, but we do not house animals, only humans.
I like coming here. The staff is amazing. It's a huge Warehouse with a little bit of everything. My only complaint is that is smells a little musty. But I have gotten great items here.
Tho it doesn't allow woman to sleep there it does offer them the option to eat dinner w the men there. There is PLENTY of food even if not always on pt. There is somethg at least edible if not delicious every nite. There is also almost always 2nds, take home, and bread downstairs to take w u. Woman can also stay for the evening mass right after dinner. Considering it's free and friendly I for one am grateful 4 this place!!??
Hard to fully understand the mindset of those in charge here. That is because I never met them. The day to day operations is handled by “program graduates”. From what I could tell their programs relies heavily on the same threadbare Christian dogmatic drivel that has failed in the past. I can state without equivocation that in this case that dogma only serves to enable self-destructive patterns of behaviors among those they profess to be helping. This is proven out in the monthly census of services. They interact with a fraction of people at the start of each month than throughout the last 3 weeks. This is owing to the hard reality of addiction that religion can never address. That being when flush with benefits checks most choose drugs, drink, and cheap hotels over hot meals and warm beds.
I was forced to attend nightly Chapel services conducted mostly by inexperience laypeople themselves not long from addictions. It was at these services where time and time again I was made to feel that as a Jew I had no hope unless I fulling accepted their concept of god and only their’s. This attacked will always fall on deaf ears. If I was even the slightest bit invested in the city of Asbury Park I would place a call to the ACLU. But alas this review will be the last bit of brain power I will expand upon the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission.
I'll support this place until I move out of state. Whether it be by donation or purchasing. It's my first stop when I need anything. The people who work here are so caring and kind hearted and their programs have such purpose. Great for the community!
I like nothing about this place. It has an awful smell, I think it was just a stroke of bad luck, but the woman there at the register was hostile during my visit, and checked out my purchases, looking at me like I was getting away with something by paying their marked prices, and they are actually dumb enough to deface their merchandise with inventory / price stickers that do not remove cleanly? I got a bad vibe all the way around here.
Cheap place to buy used clothing or furniture customer service is awesome the ladies treat everyone like family love this place because it helps people who is in need
I was blown away how welcoming it felt in the store. Everyone was so nice I felt like I was a family member that's been away for a long time and that was my first time in there.

No longer a car dealership. Now an emergency shelter for homeless and people in recovery from addiction(s). Also provides meals, counseling, health and social referrals and AA & NA group meeting space. An absolute GEM to the community.
