update 1/21/26 Great service this morning getting van battery checked that was three years old. The gold duralast battery was in stock and was installed timely and proficiently giving me great peace of mind for the continuing nasty cold weather here in Livingston NJ. Update: I just had a most pleasant talk with the online help person, Julius who was able to give me a discount for orders less than $100. I advised him that I did not see any advice on the website stating the other discount JULYDeal only applies to online orders $100 and above. In any event Thanks Julius for your advice and for readily applying the discount. Truly a disappointing experience with Juan G at the store who apparently does not know how to look up an online order in which I applied the JULYDEAL discount when making the online order from home and received an online order confirmation number. So I don't get the discount and He tells me He does not know how to rectify the failure of the inability to bring up the order in which the discount would have appeared. Instead he rang it up as if it was an in store purchase. Further another employee sitting near the register did nothing to intercede on my behalf. Ed Anderson Livingston NJ

We’ve been there many times before and they are always very helpful. They have a large variety of parts and help you find the right part for your car. Yesterday, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, we had a dead battery. We got the car to Advance around 2:00. They helped us immediately and we were back on the road in less than an hour. I will definitely be returning to Advance for my automotive needs!

I placed an order with the Livingston Advance Auto Parts for same-day delivery within a specific time frame, and the order never arrived. I ended up having to drive to the store myself to get the part, completely defeating the purpose of paying extra for same-day delivery. When I went to the store, they only refunded me for the part, not the delivery fee. It’s unacceptable to charge customers for a service that was never fulfilled. I expect a full refund, including the same-day delivery fee. Very disappointed with this experience and the lack of accountability. Will be reconsidering future business with this location.

Had to tell the counter guy that the CRV is made by Honda

After visiting many locations, this one had what I was looking for, and the customer service was excellent.

DO NOT COME HERE I came to this location two nights ago because my battery had died, and I needed a replacement—simple enough, right? I chose this place thinking they’d help with installation like they advertise. Boy, was I wrong. Mario was the only saving grace of this disaster. He did everything he could—tested my battery, helped me find a replacement, and genuinely tried to help. I feel terrible that someone like him has to work under such poor leadership. He told me someone inside could help install the battery. I believe his name is Brian, the so-called manager on duty….Mario went in to ask him multiple times if he could help install it., and every single time, Brian refused. At one point, I was even told he “wasn’t in the mood” to do it. Seriously? I left this store in tears, and this man still couldn’t be bothered to lift a finger. My dad then called and told this man off about his behavior, and it wasn’t until then that he told him to have me come back and he’d help me…seriously???? No thank you. This company claims they offer free battery installation. That’s part of the reason I came here. Instead, I was dismissed and treated like an inconvenience. I later found out this exact issue was mentioned in another review from FIVE MONTHS AGO. So clearly, this is a pattern and not a one-off. Thankfully, I drove to the Ledgewood location where the staff was kind, helpful, and installed my battery without a second thought. I will NEVER return to this location again. I highly DO NOT recommend it. Save yourself the time, stress, and tears—go literally anywhere else.

I went into Advanced Auto Parts because I needed a new car battery. I was helped by Carlos (I think this was his name, young man with curly hair) who did an excellent job with everything from testing the battery to installing a new one for me. He was very friendly, polite and serviced my car with proficiency and confidence. I did not expect such great customer service. Thank you! 2nd time I visited this AutoZone last week and was helped by another very helpful and friendly employee named Mario who installed a new windshield wiper for me. This place is close to my job so it's very convenient. Added bonus are the great employees and selection.

I drove half an hour to get there to change my battery and he didn’t want to do it. Give excuses like his by himself. He cannot do it if it’s too hard don’t waste your time to go there. AutoZone, much better.

Omg let me telll you guys how one of the workers named Isaiah was really helpful and super nice!! Me as a female don’t know much about a car …and he made it so easy & understandable at the same time! While helping me today I learned that he is a college student by demeanor of him I can tell he haves a bright future with the customer service department…definitely satisfied!

Had a puncture in my tire, and these guys really stepped up their game and helped me out. After I bought the kit to repair it, they instructed me all the way through to make sure it was done right. Brad was the guy who made sure I drove off safe.

I was in need of a new battery a I made a visit to Advance Auto Parts. The associate Khalif was so helpful. He changed my battery for me and also did a diagnosis for me. He was very courteous and nice. I will visit this location for all my car necessities. Thank You!

Today I had the wonderful privilege to encounter Juan. He easily read the room, when I walk into the store and offered help immediately. PROMPTLY, serviced me and gave me a battery diagnostic. Subsequently, I needed a new battery. He, walked me through the options, and I feel like he gave me the best option as if I was a family member. I am super grateful for the exceptional service and warm experience. Thanks Juan for your amazing help, support, and service. 🙌🏾

Worst Customer service ever. Went there to buy a battery thursday because by car die on the side of the road. I ended up towing the car to the dealer and they told me at the dealer that my original battery was fine, that the problem was a fuse box that goes to the battery. Uber my self back to advance in livingston to take the battery back the same day 3 hrs later after buying first of all walk in the store and there was Noone on the front counter, then finally a young black male came out and tells me I can't return the battery 3 hrs later after I bought it but what bother me was his arrogant answers. Rude and with and attitude like if he owns the store. There are ways to answer to people when they ask questions. Never going back to this store again, I usually go to Parsipany where they are so nice. Regret going there.

Stopped in today for a car battery, they tested mine first and the staff were excellent looking up the specifics for my vehicle and put it in my trunk. Great service and a well stocked store. Highly recommended for all your automotive needs if you are in the area. Store is clean and organized. A nice size parking lot as well. They also have online ordering.

My car had some trouble recently and went to Advance Auto Parts, as it was the nearest shop I could find in the evening. The three gentlemen worked there were very helpful and I was able to drive my car safely after their help! Thank you!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. My son purchased a battery for his car yesterday from here while at the same time, I purchased a battery from a different store and installed it for him, not knowing that he purchased one. He went back to Advance Auto not even 2 hours later to return the unused battery and the manager told him he could not return it, even though he didn't use it. My wife called the store to speak with the manager, to explain the situation to him (politely, I may add) and he deliberately hung up on her. She called back and said, "we must have gotten disconnected". His answer was "yeah, something like that". No joke! He really said that! You should be careful of the people you hire, they will ruin your business. So today, my son and my wife decided to go to the store in person and ask again if they can return the battery. The owner was there and told my wife to have me uninstall the battery that I have already installed and return that one to where I bought it. Another joke. You cannot return a battery if it is used, so why would the place that I purchased it from take it back? I wouldn't expect them to. If just one person reads this review and it makes them decide to bring their business elsewhere, that will be worth the $200 I wasted on a brand new battery.

Want to know why Amazon is so popular? Here’s a reason. Went to this location for a cabin air filter. They have plenty. But guess what? Where is the book or device that tells me the product number? The three men at the counter in an empty store had no interest even as I walked out. Ordered on Amazon and will be here in two days.

Terrible first time customer experience. Before coming to store I signed up online to receive a 15% discount off 1st purchase. Came to store and selected items but store manager could not apply the discount code because he said it lacked a barcode. Instead only could offer 5%. This was a total bait and switch! Won't be a customer here and will tell my friends to go somewhere else. Waste if time.

Very pleased. Went in for a new battery. They install for free with purchase of battery. Staff was nice and installer stayed late to put the battery in. Never felt rushed and he did a thorough job. I will return for any other car needs that arise.

I called first for a auto part and I was given a price of 39 dollars but i had to come in for them to order it. When I get there they say they have the part in Livingston. I asked to pay for it there but the worker said i had to pay up there because they would ship it to the store if I paid in advance. I go to Livingston and the price becomes 110 dollars. Putting me in a hard spot. I call east orange back after I was basically forced to buy the piece after the long trip. The guy said that it wasn't anything he could do and all there store prices are the same. Dirty so beware of this trick.

The team at this store are extremely nice and helpful. They told us they wouldn’t be able to typically change the battery for the type of car I brought in, but Jim and his team wouldn’t let me drive away with the condition my battery was in due to how dangerous it could have been. We stopped going to a sister store closer to where we live due to inconsistent stocking, and we will definitely go the extra distance from now on to come back here. We definitely recommend!
