This review is to formally express my concern regarding the working conditions at your location in Somerset, New Jersey.
During my recent visit, I was shocked to learn that the store’s heating system is not functioning. Employees were working in winter coats, gloves, and hats in an attempt to stay warm. Given that it is January in New Jersey, these conditions are completely and irrevocably unacceptable. While customer service itself was not an issue (it was stellar in fact, thank you Jessica!), the environment was uncomfortable for customers and, more importantly, concerning for employees who are expected to work several hours a day in these conditions.
This reflects a serious lack of care for employee well-being and creates an environment that no one should be expected to work in. I find it troubling that this situation has been allowed to continue, and I believe it warrants immediate attention from corporate leadership.
As a customer, this experience has negatively impacted my perception of your company. I strongly urge corporate to address this issue promptly and ensure that employees are provided with safe, humane working conditions.
I came to the store with a convoluted issue with a battery purchase from a AAP store that recently closed. The store manager, Jessica and her staff were able to resolve the issue immediately with some research and the assistance of the online support call center. Absolute best customer service. Thank you Jessica and AAP for looking out for the customer????
Well, 5 services delivered indeed. I could not BELIEVE , that the Manager Jessica, personally came out and checked my check engine light.
The Manager did exactly what I was expecting from someone in service of another. It's about time managers acted Like Jessica, I was just about to bring all ofy business to NAPA.

I had a fantastic experience at Advance Auto Parts in Somerset! I went in because my car’s battery terminals were covered in copper sulfate corrosion, and I wasn’t sure what I needed. The staff was incredibly helpful—pointing me to the exact products and giving me clear advice on how to clean and service the battery. I rolled in here at 8:55pm (they close at 9), I knew I was pushing it but figured I’d try. Stan, Christian and the rest of the staff didn’t bat an eye! They didn’t rush me, they looked up what I needed and went and grabbed it for me! It didn’t stop there! Stan went to my car and assisted with that as well! Can’t say enough good about them! 1 star is too many. Went there in an emergency because my battery was dead and I couldn't shut off the car. Had car running in the lot with an 88 year old woman and 2 4 1/2 yr old twins in vehicle. Told employees my situation and that I wanted them to check then sell me and install new battery. One employee went and hid in the back and the other spent over 3o minutes assisting someone with the purchase or 1 rear wiper blade. After over 30 minutes of being ignored I left and went across the street to AUTO ZONE. Was in and out in a matter of minutes with a purchase of over $275. Bite me Advanced Auto. Hope that rear wiper pays your rent.

New Assistant Manager with the gold chains is the worst thing that ever happened to the store in my time dealing with him at this location. He seems very inexperienced and seriously incompetent at handling situations that require better judgement. Hopefully he can perform better with future customers with better training.
Morgan, who I've dealt with on more than a dozen occasions attempted to resolve the situation after all was said and done, but the
New Assistant Manager continued escalated things on Wednesday, October 9th.
I've heard there were problems at this store from the staff so they replaced some of the store workers. Now we the consumers are going to deal with at least one incompetent manager that seems to thrive on escalating things.
I had the pleasure of having Jessie help me install my battery at Advance Auto Parts. I first went to AutoZone across the street, but they couldn’t assist me due to having only two employees on duty. When I came to Advance, they also had just two staff members, but Jessie immediately offered to install my battery for free. I truly appreciated the quick and friendly service!

Needed new wipers. They were tricky to install, but the team eventually managed. Jeremiah was extremely helpful and knows his stuff. Great customer service.
Just went to this Advance Auto Parts and Harry was the kindess soul. He helped me take out the front main head lights that i had a difficult time getting out and he assisted me changing them and gort me a deal on them giving the walmart cheapest price. 100 percent recommend this place for your auto needs and friendliness and expertise.
Asked them to recharge a battery. After a few hours I come back and they’re confused as to what I’m doing there. Then tell me that my battery is broken and the terminals don’t work.
Long story short I go across the street to Auto Zone and the battery is now recharged by the auto zone staff.

I came looking for brake pads and rotors in the middle of a rush of customers, despite some rude customers the staff kept their cool. Staff was super helpful and informative when it was my turn. Marie was such a sweetheart. This place is always my go to!
My truck’s check engine light turned on pretty recently, I stopped by and asked for help. Lee came out and checked my trucks computer. He was very helpful, and knowledgeable. I will definitely be coming back
I would give zero stars if I was given that option. Very poor customer service at this location. Visited on 10/06/22 in the afternoon. Staff was very unhelpful to say the least. Store had ads upfront that was not available in the store. The cashier told me that he would be unable to do a battery check for me because he was by himself in the store when I could see 2 more staff behind the counter. What's worse he even suggested that I go across to the autozone store to see if they could help me with getting a new battery and installing it. Wonder how many customers he sends across!
The general manager Lee was not helpful and didn't want to find a solution to the problem I was trying to price match some items and all he kept saying was I need a printed paper copy of the price with the product. Now I would like to know how I would I do that if I dont carry a big printer on hand with me. I asked if I can send it to the company email and he stated that he will not give his company email and that it would be fraud. I would like to understand how it will be considered fraud and I also dont think he understands how to use a company email. But what really topped it of was that he wasnt trying to give me the store promo that was currently going on. I later contacted another advance store and asked the same question since Lee was very unhelpful and they stated that I was able to price match as long it meet the requirements, I asked what are the requirements and the manager said if its on the website it cant be a screen shot and there cant be no discounts on the product and it also cant come frome the manufacturer because they are unable to compete with the price since they are trying to clean out their inventory and bring in the new products and if its a competitor like autozone or napa and your in store just ask for a copy it will make it easier to do the price match. I feel that Lee needs more training on how to approach situations with customers and understand what his title defines, how hard was that for Lee to say instead of being unhelpful and making the customer not want to buy stuff from their store.
I bought a car battery from a different advanced auto parts store. The battery needed to be changed and I had a 3 year warranty. The store manager told me that I had to go to the same store I bought the battery from which was 30 min away because they can't change it from there. Turns our that was a lie. They could change it but he didn't want to.
I came to this location hoping they would be able to help me with my battery. I was helped by Arlin and what great customer service I received from start to finish. We ran into a little trouble with the height of the battery but Arlin B. was able to problem solve while still holding a conversation and fixed it! Hands down the best time I have spent at Advanced. The other gentleman inside of the store was quite pleasant as well. I can only speak for battery replacement but I would totally recommend them!
Closes early before the advertised store hours for whatever the reason, computer error , failure, system down, or we just closed the registers at 8:30.... I know I should not show up 10-15 minutes before they close but it was an emergency and I needed a radiator filler cap. Lets hope they can correct this habit.
