My service manager, Devon, was a truly nice guy. Cool, easy going and very knowledgeable. It was a very pleasant experience with no pressure.

They DONT repair runflat tires. They were curtious and nice, told me right away. Would come back to them for any other service.

Today, on New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2025), I visited this place because my mom needed all her tires repaired on her Mercedes Benz. They informed us that the repair would take over an hour, but surprisingly, it only took about 45 minutes! Giovanni, one of the employees, made us feel welcome and engaged in a pleasant conversation. If you’re a driver and need tire repairs, I highly recommend this place. #bestinnewjersey

The customer service here is extremely impressive. Despite being understaffed today because of people calling out sick, I couldn’t have been more impressed watching the manager (Melvin) communicate with all the customers in person and on the phone during the time I was waiting for my car. The way he spoke to everyone, and treated everyone should be the example of all store manager training.

I had a brake appointment today at 11am. I arrrived at 8am and waited 15 minutes inside while no one was there- I ended up taking my car to a more expensive dealer as no one answered the phone or was in the shop even though the store was wide open! I heard of a coffee break or breakfast run but I could of stolen everything

Giovanni was a very friendly and helpful. The service was done quick and clean. I will certainly be going back to Pep Boys in the future. 💯

Melvin was so kind and willing to help however he could. I’d never had a flat tire before so he explained everything to me. Very quick service and great experience!

I had to get 4 new tires on my vehicle and Melvin and his team were amazing. They got me in as soon as I showed up (which was late for my appointment), were very personable, and gave great advice on how to maintain my new tires. I look forward to returning to them if I ever have to for any car issues or questions.

I really do not know how to explain my son’s experience with the Ramsey Pep Boys. Trying to have my son learn how to do something’s on his own. This place is very comical and take advantage of customers that are relying on professionals to help them and not upsell .i understand the business model but just beware and shop around as they are scam artists. Here are some examples . 1. Brought the car in for a wheel alignment and two new tires. No issues with the tires and they did preform the wheel alignment. The next day the car was shaking and it felt like the tire was going to fall off. They were very nice and said to bring it right down which we did to find out the control arm was either broken or worn out. So I asked how can u do a wheel alignment with a broken or worn out control arm. They could Not answer and finally admitted you can not do a proper alignment with a damage control arm. Ok I accepted that, I then asked was this not picked up during the review of the suspension? It stated on the invoice and check point list the suspension was good .At first they could not answer then they went to ask the tech and he said they shook the control arm and it was fine. So the car went back in to get fixed the part. Over charged by 200 bucks but it was fixed. My son takes it home all good went back out and the wheel cover flew off, ironically on route 17 across from Pep Boys. They did discount the bill for new wheel covers. My son trying to do things on his own decided to go back when his check Engine light popped on. Took it in to find out it was a sensor. Estimate was sent for parts and labor $825 and wanted to charge him another $400 for 4 spark plugs and labor. So bottom line we found a local auto pair station and paid 300 for sensor and labor and it was done in an hour. Plugs and labor 180 with top of the line plugs. Advice find a place that is not a chain as they are just out to over charge and take advantage of costumers.

Avoid this place if you can. They are dishonest and lack basic expertise. I took my daughter’s car there because it was making a noise. They told me the car needed rear brakes and calipers, so I agreed to the repair. They charged me $1,050, but when I got the car back, it was making the exact same noise as before. When I called them, they claimed the car now needed front brakes and told me to bring it back. When I asked why that wasn’t mentioned earlier, they said it was because the rear brakes were “worse” — which makes no sense since the original problem clearly wasn’t fixed. That response alone shows they either didn’t diagnose the issue properly or were simply not being truthful. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve been misled by them. Years ago, they ran a promotion promising a $100 Visa gift card if you spent more than $1,000 on tires or repairs. I brought in two cars, spent over $2,000, and never received the rewards. When I contacted Pep Boys, a representative emailed me confirming that the cards would be mailed soon — but to this day, I’ve never received them. It appears to be a business model built on deception and dishonesty. Stay away from this shop.

Very happy with my service. I needed to change a tire pressure sensor. I showed up at the appointment time and they immediately started to work on it. It was completed in 30 mins and I was on my way.

What a wonderful experience I had today at Pep Boys up in Ramsey, New Jersey! Two very nice men Milton and Giovanni greeted me at the door with an upbeat, professional attitude. As soon as I told them that I needed four new tires for a leased car they were right on it!! After shopping for tires at other places, Pep Boys price, by far, beat out any place I went to!! These gentlemen Milton and Giovanni couldn’t help me enough, and told me they’d call me as soon as the tires came in from another store, which they did. I drove right back there, and within one hour, my four new tires were put on. Besides getting a great price for my four tires, and having the installation done so quickly, both Milton and Giovanni are true assets to the company!! My compliments to them!! Rosemary Gallo

Great friendly and fast service at this location. The gentleman Michael who mounted and balanced my tires did a great job. I would definitely recommend them.

Had 4 tires replaced on my suv. They were able to accommodate an appointment the same-day and the car was ready within the promised time frame. Staff was pleasant and very polite.

Melvin was a fantastic guy to work with! They got me in early in a pinch. Spotted the issue and got it done. Couldn’t be happier with the kindness and the help these guys showed. Highly recommend coming here if you’re close.

This location provided great service and efficient service with installing the tires that I ordered for my 2017 Chevy Tahoe. Tire Alignment and balancing was on point. They also blessed with with certain discounts that made the purchase price more affordable. I will definitely come back again.

Hi this past Saturday on 7/26 we took our 2017 Jeep Wrangler to the Pep Boys in Ramsey to determine why the engine light was coming on . After spending 15 minutes running a diagnostics on the engine they told us it was the engine oil solenoid. Shortly after telling us they said that is a job they do not do. They recommended going back to Chrysler ? On the way home, my son told me you know they charged me $100 just to run the diagnostics and I said to him I cannot believe there was a full diagnostics charge when they couldn’t even fix the problem. When I went back on Sunday the following day to question the charge they insisted they told us that, but that was not true at all . We realized there would be a charge, but we assumed whatever they found they could fix and or the charge would put towards the repair .. Well I didn’t want to argue. I said to them what you’re doing here is not right and you know it . I have never been to a place where diagnostics was not put towards the repair or at least if it wasn’t going to be put towards the repair they could at least fix what they determine was the problem. I took the car to Mavis where I normally service my vehicle and they said it is no problem. They ran diagnostics and said they will need the car for a day and it can be fixed easily . What Pep Boys did to us was sheer thievery . As an added note, my son had work done there at the end of last year over $2000 worth of work you would think just looking at the past history some kind of respect or consideration would’ve been given as a prior customer. Do not take your car there it’s an oil change place and a flat tire repair place at the best. Not a mechanical shop as they advertise. Stay away

The service was excellent. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived for my scheduled appointment. Communication was clear and timely throughout the service, including updates via text once it was completed. I appreciated that there was no pressure to purchase any additional services. I will definitely be back.

The team at Pepboys Ramsey are friendly, honest, knowledgeable and amazing! No need to order from tirerack, the dealer or Costco they also have competitive pricing.

Pep boys Ramsey is the worst. I had the worst experience with them. Their technician and his boss lied to me. I brought my car to them to get it fixed. They didn’t give me any updates. I had to call every day to have a status update. And every day they were telling me the car will be ready today then the left me hanging till 6:30 pm right before they close waiting for me call to tell me sorry the car will not be ready. My car had an engine light on. After they had the car for almost a week, their assistant manager called and told me car is ready to pick up after i called several times he got back to me at 6 and told me i thought you would come to pick it up. I took an uber and guess what happened, the engine light is still on!!!!!! So i had to keep the car another day and i told them to please call me in the morning to let me know what happened and as usual they left me hanging till i took that day off from work and went to them and they told me oh sorry there is another part that need to be fixed but this will be on our charge i told them ok. FINALLY I PICKED UP THE CAR went on the highway heard a weird sound as if there is loose bolt in addition to their technician didnt tighten the plastic cover under the car. I told him what is that sound. He told me oh this sound was here before i told him NO. He told me this car is old and this sound is normal i told him its 2017 not that old. I told him you should fix what you did then he and his boss told me we didnt do that i told them you did that left sth in the muffler or resonant. Then the technician told me in order to remove the sound you have to change the whole muffler which is crazy here i noticed that they are scammers and they need to take money thats all. I went to the mechanic. And he found the loose bolt left in the muffler or resonant i dont know exact name of it and I ATTACHED THE PICS FROM MY MECHANIC AND OF THE BOLT. It didnt take 5 min for him to solve it. Even i told the techinican at Pep boys please try to remove it he told me no i cant you have to change the whole thing . SO HOW COME MY MECHANIC FOUND IT AND REMOVED IT. As you can see in the pics the bolt is new its not rusted or anything which proved that this was not in my car. PEP BOYS IS THE WORST. I CANT BELIEVE THAT HE AND HIS BOSS ARE LYING TO ME JUST TO NOT BE RESPONSIBLE ABOUT WHAT THEY DID. They are not professional at all. Please please dont bring your car to them THEY HAVE THE WORST TECHNICIANS AND THEY WILL TAKE MONEY FROM YOU NO MATTER WHAT AND THEY WILL PUT IT INTO LABOR. And i remember their assistant manager told yes we have high labor because we do everything right. Yes by leaving this bolt inside my car claiming it was there before and i have to change the whole thing to get it fixed?!!!!!!!!!! How come my mechanic got it out then?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went on a Sunday morning for scheduled maintenance and was in and out very fast. They were very courteous and thoughtful. When they saw that I was with my wife and kids, as well as our dog, they made sure to get our service done fast (without me asking for that) so that we could get done quickly. The rep Melvin was great, as well as the others.

Service advisor(Melvin) very informative and respectful, shop techs worked as a unit to speed up the process to have my car done in a decent time, communication and reassurance goes a long way during my wait, will return for my car needs A++++

I returned with my 07 Corvette to replace my tire pressure sensors in all four tires. As expected, Service was 5 Star. Mel and the mechanic that serviced my car were top notch. Attention to detain has always been my thing, something as simple as all 4 tires having the correct and exact tire pressure meant someone gave a hoot and payed Attention! Had a wonderful experience at Pep Boys in Ramsey NJ while getting 4 new tires installed during Black Friday sales. Pricing was great and the sales person made it fun and enjoyable. His name was JHAD and made 2.5hrs wait time seemed like only 30mins. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking to get new tires while having fun!

I got my tires installed today at this pep boys. Very busy location and even I have appointment, I have to wait for 2 hours Guys working at location are super nice and friendly but may need more people as all 4 bays are back to back. There prices are very reasonable for all the tires installation, rotation and alignment work.

VERY FAST VERY GOOD PRICE FOR OIL CHANGE!!! What a great price for an oil change! I was able to use a coupon that I received online and it went from $50 something to ONLY $36.24!!! I'm so impressed. Very professional, polite, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Thank you again, guys! Devon Banton, the service manager, was very helpful! I called at 6:00 pm and he told me to "Just come in and we will take you right away." I'm so pleased that I found a great new place to get my car serviced! I recommend this Pep Boys location (Ramsey,) 100% VERY CLEAN WAITING AREA AS WELL!!!! Everything is spotless and new looking. VERY SPACIOUS!
