Insane how long you wait to get on scale. Much faster to drive to Concord, or another neighboring town, and drop off your waste there. Any additional fees incurred are totally worth it. Total cluster.

How do you expect people to go to the dump if they work 7-5 and you're not open on the weekend 1 day... be so FR so town dump has 7:30-2:45 hrs pathetic

compare to others towns this is the best one 1 very easy to dump anything

Always friendly and if you’re needing to drop off waste or materials, then this is your place. I come here for my recycling since my apartment complex doesn’t do it.

It’s ridiculous how slow the man at the weigh house is, Molasses's move faster than he does. (GMA) I’m sure there’s something else he can do for work at your facility. Took way too long!

The weigh station takes forever! I'm not an impatient person, but when it takes me an hour on a Wednesday afternoon to drop off a few things, when there was 3 people in front of me, that's a problem. Everyone has been and continues to complain about this. I'm not going to say why, but they know why and can fix it very easily.

Pros: easy to find Friendly staff Tried to make it clear with colored lines on the road Free to recycle as my apartment complex doesn’t Cons: Unclear when you’re on a scale so interrupted another persons transaction Gatekeeper didn’t make where the recycling was very clear. His first instruction was to follow the blue line. As I expected to be directed to dumpsters I went over a bridge and when I went back and told him this he said it was bins in front of an office - was nice enough to have someone drive up and show me - so it would be nice if they had true signage. Granted the bins I used DID have signs saying what could go in but if you’re not paying attention or know that’s what you’re looking for it’s very unclear and discouraging

I use this facility for recycling drop-off. However, the website is very unclear on this part of their operations. There is no explanation on where to go on the website and nothing at the opening. Typically the lane for the scrap metal and larger items that require the scale is so long and unorganized that you cannot see the sign for the recycling line or get through. I went there multiple times before finally seeing the sign and realizing I didn’t need to wait in the giant line to check in or something. In addition the times are very confusing. Google and the website say they close at 3pm on weekdays. On the website it specifies the scale closing at 2:45pm. Does this mean it is also closed at that time for recycling - I ask because the last two days I went before 3pm and the gate was already closed with the “closed” sign up. I don’t want to enter if I am not supposed to. In addition, today I arrived 5 minutes before 2:45pm and the gate was already closed. Yes, I could arrive earlier, but I had other things to do and it won’t take me that long to throw a few things into a dumpster. More clarity would be appreciated.

The trash guys break our barrel. Now we have to pay to have it replaced, and since no one answers the phone at the drop off center we can’t leave a message to find out if the barrel is still under warranty. We ordered a new barrel on line as we had no choice. So how do you get rid of the old barrel if you don’t have a vehicle large enough to bring it to the drop off center? I have spent three days on this!!

I have nothing but positive things to say about the team that runs the Manchester Solid Waster Drop-off Facility. I am always treated with respectfully and they are patient with me when I don't know exactly where to put my trash.

The place is an absolute dump, of course, this is the one time when that is exactly how it should be. Seriously, this place is well kept and well managed. And, there is a hot babe on the way in!
Jul 26, 2023 -
If I could give this dump zero stars I would. The workers are friendly which is the only thing they have going for them. Otherwise this is the most mismanaged operation I've ever seen. Need to be open every weekend. You don't need ever worker to be in to function. Literally need one person at the weigh station and one telling people where to dump. Come on Manchester, get with the program!

Worst transfer station I’ve ever been to. Been in line for a half hour the scale only went through 4 cars. 3 cars ahead of me gave up already. For every 1 car they send off 3 more roll up to check out. If you have an option….go ANYWHERE else UPDATE: After an hour of sitting in line, the guy at the scale told me my dump pass was on hold for previous non payment (because 2 years ago I didn’t have a check or bills under $20) and I couldn’t even discard my debris. He sent me to the municipality building on Valley St where they confirmed that I was in fact already paid up. 2 hours of my day wasted and now the dump is closed. At closing time the line of cars was backed up easily 20 cars deep because the guy in the scale house is so slow. I want to reiterate how poorly this place is run and strongly advise dumping your trash on the side of the road. That fine is way cheaper than my wasted time.

Ok facility. Has the most INCONVENIENT hours of operation imaginable. Can’t use it for dropping off materials unless I take time off from work. Their drop off process is archaic and extremely slow and inefficient.

Waited in the entry line for half an hour without getting near the front, while there was another line as long to check out after. In addition, cash/check only meant a separate trip to the ATM first; now I'm out an hour and still have a truckload of garbage. With the limited hours open, it seems people with a day job aren't able to use the facility.

Need to find a way to speed up the line. Nashua dump moves 10x faster than here. If you go on a Saturday make sure you plan on sitting in line for an hour at min.

I love going to the dump getting rid of things I haven't used in a year or more. Very cheap and able to dump your things with ease.
Sep 04, 2022 -
Given the short hours open, something should be done for the speed of getting people in and out. With 4 cars ahead of me, i am writing this 15 minutes later with… 3 cars still ahead of me. Plus a few re entering to get weighed to exit, it’s a turned into a very long wait

They only accept cash or check. NO CREDIT OR DEBIT. Follow the white line for trash, blue line for recycling. Recycling is free, drop all your recycling first, just go by the weights station following the blue line, then back to the station to get weighed before following the whit line to dump your trash.

!! RECYCLING BYPASS LANE IS OPEN.!! **On weekends, this location is only open on the first and third Saturdays of the month** Skip the line if you have only recyclables. This was just added and it was definitely needed. Was sick of waiting in line 45 minutes to recycle. Now you just skip the line in the bypass lane on the right when you enter.

Please update your hours on google. I rented a U-Haul trailer to remove my furnitures. On google it says that you are opening on Saturdays but arriving there, it says first and third Saturday of the months. Now I had to extend my rental days so that I can do it on Monday since I didn’t want to unload an load it again. I’m going to spend more that unanticipated. Please clarify it on everywhere. Thank you

In a city as large as Manchester, I find it hard to believe that they cannot keep the solid waste station open EVERY Saturday. 2 Saturdays a month?! Saturdays have always been the most convenient day for people to clean their house and throw things away. Please expand your Saturday hours, Manchester.
Aug 28, 2021 -
Can you please change the hours on google because it says open yet we pulled up and you were closed. Very inconvenient to only be open two Saturday’s a month and you close at three every week day.... what are people who work supposed to do when they need to get rid of something? Not exactly the workers fault so nothing against them but it’s just really inconvenient hours for those who actually work.

Getting on and off the scale at this place is an ordeal. They need a better system. Other places have inbound and outbound scales so the line doesn't back up down the street.

My apt complex does not provide recycling trash service. The set up at this site is extremely inefficient. There should be two traffic lines entering the Drop Off area. One to drop off newspapers, cardboard Second, for heavier , bulky waste. I should not have to wait behind vehicles that need to be weighed before and after disposal

When did the transfer station change the closing time to 3pm? As a taxpayer I think they can be open later during the week and even on weekends, how are people suppose to got if they work 8 am to 4pm? Its ridiculous that every time I go they seem to be just sitting around all day and getting paid big buck to drive brand new trucks. Also why do Manchester residents need to pay a 10 dollar registration fee if we pay taxes? Seems like a money grab to me.

I go to the drop off facility maybe ten times a year and usually have a few things to bring on Hazard Waste Days (twice a year). The staff are hard workers, they are always courteous and helpful, well designed site, they are open to suggestions and are open to new and better ways of doing things, I feel it is a great resource for citizen's of Manchester !

Typical mess as anything that has to do with the city of Manchester. They want the city to look nice and not have trash sitting around everywhere, but when you take it to the drop off facility, they give you a hard time about taking it. My permit says I can dump 10 bulky items per year. I took 2 old mattresses today and they told me that this is my final trip for the year, even though that put me at only 5 items for the year. Of course, I could pay the city $25 and it may get picked up or it may not. I guess Manchester is going to remain an eyesore until some administration makes an effort to improve the recycling program.
