My wife and I moved to Goffstown about two years ago and as such, it was time to find a new mechanic.
I'm not going to write a novel; Josh and Proficient Automotive have been nothing but stellar to me since bringing my vehicles there.
They're fairly priced, honest, and respectful. In fact, my 2012 Nissan Juke was making a "clunk" coming from the rear suspension. It turned out it was just some excess noise from the shocks. While some shops might twist that to make a quick buck on a shock replacement, Josh told me "It's nothing serious, you can still drive the car just fine."
If that isn't integrity, I don't know what is. I ended up getting the shocks replaced anyway because it was irritating to listen to, ha, but again, textbook honesty.
Proficient has absolutely earned my business. I've been happy every single time I've brought them work!
I won't lie though, guys, that road to get to you past Tire Warehouse is a little rough!
Edit 02/19/2026: I don't know when I initially left this, but a few (presumably) years later and my review of Proficient Automotive still holds true; this is one of the kindest, most respectful, and honest shops I've ever brought vehicles to.
Each time I get an estimate, they are never, EVER, outside of it by more than a couple bucks; I mean a negligible amount of money and the overwhelming majority of the time, they're a little under. I don't have to worry about getting written estimates because they're HONEST.
My little Juke got its turbocharger replaced because the OEM one had a crack in the manifold. Not only was the bill super reasonable for the work, but the very next morning it sprung a little coolant leak; a hose clamp must have been on its way out during the install.
Now, putting aside the heart attack I nearly had from what I thought was smoke coming from the engine bay, I brought it back and they put a new hose clamp on and fixed the leak that very morning no charge.
It's tough finding people in ANY industry now that care this much about what they do and doing it with integrity. There's just no need for me to go anywhere else; there's no point.
I drive from Litchfield to have my truck, my wife's car and my two daughter's car serviced at proficient. Jason and his crew are professionals and treat customers with respect.
Nothing but good things to say about Jason, Josh and the rest of the team. They are honest and very reasonable on their pricing and do amazing work. I have been bringing my trucks here for years. All of the trucks being 20 years old or older and they never overcharge me. They always squeeze me in when I dont have a appointment and always take care of me. Its hard to find a shop like Proficient Automotive.
Once again, I had a great experience with Proficient Automotive. They are always professional, timely, thorough, and honest. A garage you can trust to do good work at a fair price.

Moved to town and needed a mechanic. These guys have fixed 3 of my cars now, great prices, honest work, honest people. Never upsells, infact does the opposite when possible. Found my repair guys for the next 20 years
I cannot say enough good things about this company and group of people. On April 27th on the Highway my convertible unavoidably hit a tractor saw blade on Everett Turnpike.
My car was towed to another shop who was honest that they didn’t want to deal with the insurance company as they can be difficult.
Not only did Proficient step up to accept the work but they ADVOCATED for me each and every step of the way to ensure that insurance covered any future damage.
This was a HEFTY repair to say the least as the saw destroyed the undercarriage so new oil pan, cross bar, transmission and engine!
I am so grateful for the prompt responses, great explanations on what to expect, efficiency in sourcing the parts (Buick Cascada so not easy to find)

When you are at the mercy of a repair shop in a different state you are anxious to say the least. They exceeded my expectations in every way & I felt like my beloved car “Trixie” was in good hands. She is running great and We are having a fun summer
These guys are great, their wait time is usually 1 to 2 weeks but if your feel your vehicle is unsafe to drive they do whatever they can to fit you in. They never upsell anything and only fix what is broken. Their prices are always reasonable.
Jason, Josh, and his crew are awesome, honest, and great mechanics. I had a problem that they diagnosed and fixed within an hour. Other mechanics could have easily made up problems and up charged but these guys were honest and charged practically pennies to fix. Only business I trust with my cars.
Always honest, quality work and good customer service. I stopped by unexpectedly with a question about my coolant, and they stoped what they were doing, took my car & fixed it in 10 minutes, free of charge. Another time the part they installed a few months ago was defective, they replaced it all free of charge. I always recommend them!

These guys are the best! They are always able to fit me in quickly and they explain everything to me without trying to sell me on a bunch of stuff that my car doesn’t need. They are reliable and work very efficiently. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Goffstown/Manchester area!
These guys are absolute angels! I had a check engine light pop on just as I was heading out of town. They diagnosed and fixed less than a half hour (at no charge!). I am so thankful and appreciative!
My daughter’s Dodge fan belt tore as a Snow Emergency in Manchester, NH was declared for the coming weekend. This shop got the part and replaced the damaged upper radiator hose assembly the next day.

Eight years ago, when my first car was on its last leg (that's being generous), Jason told me he would work on my car forever, but it would be in my best interest to look into getting a different vehicle because that would be cheaper on me in the long run. He could have taken advantage of my early 20s ignorance, plenty of other mechanics had, but he was honest with me about the state of my car and probably kept me from dying in the stupid thing lol.
Everyone that works here is kind and knowledgeable. I cannot say enough good things about this business. I suggest Proficient Auto to anyone I can in my day to day.

I definitely recommend this shop! The staff were all friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. I had an issue with my car that was quickly resolved the same day and was very affordable. I know I would have definitely paid more going with another auto shop with less quality service too. Will be coming back here for all my auto needs!

Great local repair facility. Jason runs an excellent business with fully qualified techs. Numerous times I have went in and received very sound advice to help me decide the course of action. No matter what they try to save you money and get your vehicle running excellent. Go there and they will become your trusted repair shop.

Went there today to fix a couple things on my Honda in order to pass inspection. I decided to come here after being referred by someone I know. I am very pleased with their service. I will come here to do routine maintenance from now on, fair pricing aswell.
Referred here by 2 friends. Very professional and excellent service. Pricing is very good and they were very honest. Most of the expensive stuff I thought i needed did not need to be done. I scheduled an appointment for what I did need done for a very reasonable price.
