No communication, had to call them after days of not hearing anything about what’s wrong with my vehicle to find out they did $1500 of diagnosis and installed parts I did not authorize. Went to pick up my truck and paid the $1500 and they couldn’t get it started with the same issue I just paid them to fix. They had to replace another part. So why did I have to pay for all the other things when those didn’t fix the problem?
My husbands truck broke down at the DG warehouse where he works. After working on it himself it still wouldn't start and had to be towed to C & R on Tuesday. He told them what he fixed himself but didn't sign anything or get any quotes at that time. Today (Friday) we called them to see if they had looked at the truck yet (We hadn't heard from them at all). They told us they had already worked on it and got it running and they would call us back with the bill in a few minutes. We didn't authorize any work; now what?! We had to call back an hour later and they told us it would be $1500 and they expect it up front no payment plan. Again, who authorized this?! They justified fixing without authorization by saying that "they had to chase down the issue" by.... fixing as they go? Now we are a vehicle short, they're closed for the weekend, and we have no idea how to cover this bill we didn't authorize in any way. We paid that much for the truck. Perhaps we may have chosen to just get rid of it if we had been given the choice. We could have towed it home to deal with at a later date through a friend. All autonomy was taken from us and now we are left with a huge bill and no idea what to do.
I was stuck between a rock & a hard place. My car broke down in Blair and we knew we couldn't drive it home just south of Omaha. I pulled into C & R Automotive on Sunday and met the owner standing outside in his church clothes. He said he would look at it on Monday. It was done by either Tuesday or Wednesday. Severe miss and needed a spark plug wire. $458.55 later, I picked up my car and vowed to never be bent over like that again from them. Absolutely ridiculous amount of money for the repair that was done. Spark plug wires are less then $40 for 6 on my 2007 Grand Prix.
I received amazing service from C and R when my car broke down on the side of I-29 while, I was 7 hours from home. They looked at my car and fixed it quickly to get me back on the road and home in time for my daughter’s surgery. They were caring and honest people and even called me the next day to make sure I made it home!
Received a quote to have requested paint work done and when I showed up to pick up my vehicle I was informed that they had found "additional spots" that needed done and was charged two and a half times the quoted cost. They didn't call me to find out if the additional work was even wanted, just done and charge for it. The quality of the work performed was adequate which is why this isn't a one star review but I was not looking to spend nearly as much as I was charged for the service. A little upset by the experience.
This company installed a Rhino Liner in my brand new truck and in the process covered my entire truck with overspray. In addition, the installation was loaded with runs and thickness inconsistencies throughout. This is the worst bed liner installation I have ever seen. Clearly, the person or people doing the Rhino Liner installations is/are incompetent. What's worse is that C & R denied any wrongdoing. This is a bad company, I wouldn't go to them for any of the services they offer.
