Love the store but the lady upfront is very stand off ish and kinda rude. Surprised she still has a job there. Other than that great little hardware store just got to dig around.
As a contractor with good customers in Buckner this business has made my life so much easier. It makes a big difference driving a block as opposed to driving 20 miles to buy a faucet or an outlet or any number of other materials needed for a home repair. I love Buckner Surplus and I strongly recommend that you’re nice to these folks. They are good hard working folk selling quality products for anything a home business could need.
Don’t waste your time to get here. I wanted to buy 270 pieces of LP smart siding 8” by 16 ft but the owner did not open the pallet for me choosing them, because I see there are a lot pieces got damaged, she said that she just loaded it up whole pallet on my trailer.
Spoke with the female that works there on the phone a couple times and she was very unpleasant. I was confronted with attitude and no desire to help . On another occasion, I was in need of some wood, I called and spoke to an older gentleman, letting him know the quantity of wood I need, to then be assured that they had more than enough to fill my needs. Upon arrival, the same gentleman informed me that they had none left. Which was very unfortunate, being that I live 40 minutes away.
We spent $2500 on cement and it crumbled within six months start breaking up all over the driveway. It was bad cement, and we will never buy cement from these people again. You should see my driveway. It’s horrible waste of money. the owner will not take care of his customers. If you run into any problems with any of his products he’s very rude. He won’t even return your call. I had two concrete companies. Tell me that it was bad batch of concrete. He did not care I would not even rate him a one Very bad and very unprofessional company owner don’t care

Rented a small yard cement buggy from Buckner Surplus and it worked out great. Only needed a yard and a half and very happy with results. Staff is so friendly and helpful as well.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE! They sold me a large bundle of material. I paid more than $1,200 and nearly $300 worth is unusable. I did not know the materials were damaged until I started working through the bundle. I called to inform them of the unusable material and they told me TOO BAD IM JUST STUCK WITH IT! ?
Got a quote for some lumber on the phone and the price increased within 2 hours of getting there. The product was sub standard junk. Had to sort through trash to get what was needed abd they didn't want to open new bundles to get decent product. Don't waste your time there.
I have called this establishment several times for information regarding products in stock. Each time Crystal was short, curt, and rude. However, the gentlemen I dealt with were very friendly and polite. Special thanks to the gentleman with the shovel and bucket! ⅗
They have what you need if you need what they have. Usually at a better price. They are helpful minus the provocative stares. Not their fault though as I am tall and super handsome. They would've helped me load Lumber if I wasn't as fit and lean as I am.
Very disappointed! Called them this morning to ask if they had 90 pcs 1x6 car siding. He assured me they did. Took my name to hold it while I drove up there, about an hour and 45 minutes. When I got there they quite busy and said it would be a wait before they could load me up. No problem. The guy ahead of me in the loading line pulls into the yard and they start loading him with the same boards I was waiting on. A worker said “no worries, yours got pulled and set aside “ Yeah, they got set aside right on that guys trailer. I offered for them to cut longer ones in half and I would make it work on my end. Boss says nope, you gotta pay extra cuz the longer boards are more expensive per foot plus a cutting fee. No attempt to make their screwup right. 6 hours and a tank of gas wasted.
I went there today to get a 12 foot trailer. Super nice people that helped and even helped us hook my vehicle to the trailer. Great price on the trailer and lots of neat stuff in their store too.
We drove 3 hours to get some plywood. It wasn't perfect, but it would work for what we needed it for (an old barn). I was hoping to see something else at the store, but the store was pretty crowded with stuff everywhere, and hubby wanted to get on the road. We found them off of Facebook, and if we hadn't had to pay taxes, it would have been a decent deal. But by the time you pay taxes and gas to get there, we did not save much money. Won't be back because, too far away and ok deal, but not great.
It's a small town hardware surplus store, that may or may not have what you need. There are deals to be had if you look though. They offer a variety of different services, from trailer sales, mulch, rock, portable toilets, premix cement and more I'm sure. I've found that most of the staff will let you browse freely until you ask for help. There's a lot of places to look, ask for help.
It's a Surplus store, you gotta dig around, it's not fancy but the price is worth the dig!

We had to dig through 50 laminate countertops to unearth the ones we wanted but for 4 bucks per linear foot, it was worth it.
Called about 4x10x1½ insulation panels off of Facebook market place. Was agreed on a certain price for what they had left. Drove over 30 miles. Store smelt like sewer I was told the sewer was backed up into the store bathroom. Go to pay and load and get told she miscounted (? the number was the same that she told me over the phone.) and the total cost went from 1000.00 to 2800.00. More than double... I said thats not why I drove all the way down there and what would she do to help on the total cost and she I need to pay the 2800.00. I left and drove home empty handed.
Can I just say how much I love coming here? I always find something interesting for a great price. They have so much that I didn't even realise. Lots of lumber supplies in the back warehouse. All kinds of building materials, tools, household goods, you name it. Only 4 stars because the employees are not very friendly or very helpful.
Was a short notice order. Literally 4 to 5 hour notice for two crates of metal cans. They waited for me to get there as they were just closing up. The woman that rang me up was a big sweetheart and the forklift driver was just as helpful. Will be making more purchases in the future.
Bought a 16 ft. ultility Trailer from them. Saved $500 compared to similar ones around kc area. Really helpful helping me hitching it on to my truck and making sure my lights worked. I live in Kansas city and it was worth the drive. Would recommend to anyone going there looking for a new trailer.
