They are consistent in their pricing but still lots of issues compared to CMC down the road. Mainly the entrance, parking area, and exit are insanely bad. Its dirt mixed with sharp metallic debris with pot holes big enough to damage smaller vehicles. If you drive a sedan its almost impossible to exit out the facility.

My husband and I went there to drop some metal off and when it was our time to drop it off the kid in back kept jerking on our metal instead of taking time to see what was stopping the metal from coming out. My husband gets out and sees the problem and told the kid to watch what he was doing and have some respect for peoples property. Response from your employee was maybe you shouldn't junk and my husband responded to this comment about having some respect for peoples stuff. Your employee told my husband to meet him outside at 4:30. Is this the kind of employees you support. Speak to your employees about how to handle people's junk in their vehicles and to respect the peoples property and to show respect to the people that bring you your living.
Took some aluminum cans to recycle. Check them out to sell the cans and you can get paid! Just remember to make sure to have enough weight. These were the prices they had on their bulletin.
These guys are always the best prices in town for short steel. I take about 20 tons a year and I have pretty much quit shopping prices because they’re always the best. They also do a very professional job and aren’t mega picky on the short. That earns my business every time
The small scale workers click together good they get the job done efficiently. A+ for Travis very informative, knowledgeable and honest. The large scale worker girl..always smiling & great attitude. Hey McCoy's you scored big time when you hired her.

Never going back there again I feel like I got screwed. I hope you take my picture and make it where I can't come back. I also bet half the people that been giving 5stars is people you know or fake profiles you made. Oh I plan on it I'll go to Springfield iron and metal. why would I want my scrap back where u can screw me over twice and one day.
First timer. Crew were awesome and super friendly. This is where u want to go. Unlike the other place that illegally bought my daughter's stolen Chevy Express van in the middle of the night and crushed it. McCoy's is by far the best place to go. Oh yeah. Not to mention the scale operator was sweet and cute as hell. Added bonus. Lol. Lookin' for more scrap just so i can go back. Thank you McCoy's.
I have been going here occasionally hole against the suggestions of my peers,and have had some minor negative experiences with price until today..I sent my wife in with 22 lbs of #1 insulated and some heavy duty #2 insulated copperwire from a 220 electric stove and my wife said she threw her phone cord on top after cutting the ends off because it wouldnt charge...these ripoff artists gave her low grade insulated price on tthr whole 22lb batch. This is thieving at it's finest ..they told her u can't mix it all up ..because of one wire 3 ft long out of 500'...this costs us at least 20 to 30 dollars and please I'm asking anyone reading ..please go elsewhere because everywhere else is much more fair

Drove 45 minutes to this place and got there at 410. Looked up on Google and it said open til 430. Got In the gate and to the scales and was told they were closed that they close at 4... dude said we've had the same hours for 30 years. OK so why not get on Google and fix the business hours if they have been the same for 30 years.
I was so disappointed I took time to reveal all the gold plated plugin's from My electric stuff I'm talking about hundreds of plugin's I also have 30+ circuit boards; I think they count on the fact that the customer doesn't always know what items are really worth so are taken advantage of.. I was paid 42 dollar's and some change and over 7 dollar's was #1

Dropped off an old stove and the workers were all very helpful, and polite. Keep in mind when going to a scrap metal facility that it is not a super clean place and dress accordingly. I like a dummy did not have the best of shoes on. But with that said I found McCoys to be well organized and doing the best they can to keep it clean for what they are dealing with. Thanks McCoys!
Quick way to get rid of cans & misc. Thought their prices were low. Guess I should have listened to my son & called around because one place was higher but McCoys is close.
(Dewayne)I had worked here for years and have went here for years and service is great and my kids/grandkids grew up coming here and the staff is great, and they give cash! Although it is a huge mud pit after it rains.
Prices are equal or above competition, workers are more respectful than previous visits in the past, making my choice simple. McCoy's is my choice for recycling in Springfield area...
I think they are scamming the public ,especially when it comes to the aluminum cans. My last visit. I had approximately 1 and 3/4 baskets of aluminum cans which weighed 40 lbs. @ .50 cents a lb. Which came to $20. Ok that seemed about right.
Now,here's where I feel scammed or cheated. Today,I bring in another load of aluminum cans. And,today it ended up 2 and a half baskets. Again @ .50 cents a lb. And guess what my total weight was. Only 40lbs,smdh.
Pretty sure 2 and a half baskets weighed more than 40 lbs. So my suggestion is weigh your items if at all possible,I know I sure will be. Have a blessed day.
I went in with a load of short steel I was pretty sure I had at least a ton and I had 1100 lbs so directly after leaving I went to another set of scales somewhere else they are ripping people off almost 1000 pounds off so I went to another place mcoys is bout 1000 pounds off on scale
My husband has been using Mccoys for close to 30 years. We really like the service and
staff. I've been there many times with a load of something and they are always pleasant, even though the job is hot and dirty. I've also noticed that their prices are equal to or better than the other yards here in Springfield.
Would give zero stars if I could. They don't follow their own 'current price sheet' and made us count our steel as tin so we got screwed out of $80. First and last time using McCoys Crook Service.
I've always had great experiences with them and they always have been very helpful if my metal wasn't separated completely and they always remember myself and my son great outfit they are running I recommend them to everyone
I expect to be treated with as much respect as I give. This is not the case at McCoys. Expect to be belittled, disrespected, and cursed at even if you are a business customer. One employee is not indicative of its management or business model, however after the disrespect was brought to the owners attention, (Mike) and met with literal indifference, I can only assume it’s a part of their culture. CMC from here on.

If ya want to get ripped off this is the place for you. Never will my company do business here again. Having a nice staff is great but I got took to the cleaners today. Very unsatisfactory. I didn't even want to rate a star. But it made me. So only one for you. Should have been zero!!!!
The office people were very nice. The people working taking the metal were not. They acted like ass's really.i went in a nice shirt and jeans and the guys outside gave me the impression I was looked down on.Their scales must be for heavy items only cause they refuse the same amount other yards took. They called about a pound of number one copper number 2 copper and paid me 15 bucks for 14 pounds plus some scrap wire. If that's not ripping someone off idk what is. They had me dump my stuff right in the drive like it was trash to them, and took it away so i never saw it weighed. That's not how to do business. They should say we don't take small amounts. As I I'd the office lady was very kind. My boyfriends out of town with our truck he left the copper so I'd have money this week. A new Missouri law says you can't walk up and sell metal at a scrap yard. The office didn't mind if I asked to say I came with a family dropping off some cans. Had it been the guys in the yard I'd probably have been turned away. As it was I wish I had been refused rather than flat stolen from. Maybe if you have a ton of metal scrap your treated better. I'll never go there again. Well maybe just to show the jacked up chromed out truck I usually drive. PS. I just got home and looked at their chart how the hell was 14 lbs #2 copper striped and 3 strings Xmas lights worth 15$ when it's 1.65 by their own chart!
Be careful dealing with these crooks. Bait and switch seems to be their M.O. Told me high price on the phone, paid different 30 minutes later, after I was unloaded. I will NEVER sell another tin can or scrap filing to these creeps ever again! Neither should you, Ive been scrapping for 30 ears in OK, thought they were shady at times, seem like angels now!!!
