Today i was stranded with my 11 month old daughter. Tow company was suppose to arrive by 12:26 when requested shortly at 11am. They kept pulling my chain.. “they will be there in 20 min” “oh the driver didn’t call you”
At 2:47 I called and requested a new tow truck.
From 11am-2:47 with my baby girl in the rain waiting for someone to get me. Jack rabbit towing was requested @ 2:50 and driver was there by 3:20.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Absolute SCAM of a place. I was parked in Westport at 9:30, there were absolutely no signs posted or barriers when I arrived. I came out at 11:30 and my car was gone. This place is disgusting and a money grab.
Towed our car in a parking lot with no signs or postage anywhere, Before we left the car we even went around the parking lot and looked everywhere to make sure. When we confront the guy at the shop he just laughed and pointed to where our car was. If this is how this shop operates DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS HERE! pure theft
Beware of this company, they will rob you of your money and your vehicle. They’ll be mentioned in the tow company scam before too long if they aren’t under investigation as we speak. They’re up to some sketchy shit as my vehicle was the only vehicle in the entire place besides one just like mine that was wrecked outside and one they are taking apart that was like mine in a garage. Only one worker, no records of car being towed like they were hoping I didn’t find it. I’ve contacted authorities and made them aware of these scammers and I won’t stop there.
Absolutely awful experience with Wilde Auto Recover. I scheduled a tow and was told it would arrive by 10:30am. By 11:00am, there was still no tow truck, and I couldn’t get through to anyone by phone. At 11:06am, I received a message saying the driver was 8 minutes away. I finally got through to someone around 11:00am, and they told me the driver would call me—which he did shortly after the message.
When the driver called, I told him we were canceling the service, and I specifically asked if we’d be charged. He clearly said no.
But then I checked the status and saw the job was marked as “Rescue Complete” at 11:12:55am—just 6 minutes after they said the truck was still 8 minutes away. That makes no sense, especially considering the pickup location was 16 minutes from my home. How could they have completed the tow after cancellation, in less time than it would take to drive there?
To top it off, they charged me $350, even though the original quote was $175—and despite saying I wouldn’t be charged at all.
This company is dishonest, misleading, and completely unprofessional. Avoid Wilde Auto Recover at all costs.
***BE AWARE BE AWARE***I would not recommend this company to anyone. Customer service is horrible company is non transparent unprofessional unskilled the worst in K.C far as towing recovery.
Please do not let these people scam you. We’re unsure if it’s the whole company or just one employee extorting people but we wish we had known the towing laws in KC before paying. It is illegal for a towing company to force a you to pay in cash & to charge more than the posted maximum tow fee. I was forced to pay $315 in cash after being towed from an area with a $175 maximum tow fee. The “no public parking” sign was cleverly located to be hidden from where I parked in the lot, and my car was towed within minutes of my parking there. The employee would not release my car until we gave him $315 in cash even after we insisted the maximum tow fee was $175. They’re clearly keeping the extra money for themselves. If this place tows your car and expects you to pay in cash and above the maximum fee, please refuse and call the police so you don’t get extorted like I did.
First of all the place looks like a dungeon, not a tow lot. Car was towed on a Friday night after 12 which makes no sense because they are closed on Saturdays. Super Shady Business. Stay away from this company at all cost.
I needed a tow and State Farm dispatched Wilde Auto and Recovery. We live in a gated community and the guard wouldn't allow the tow truck in because the truck didn't have a license plate. This is unacceptable that a company would allow a truck without plates on the road. Unfortunately, we had to start the process all over and because it took so long the dealer was closed and I now have to wait until Monday.
I must say a huge THANK YOU to Wilde’s Auto & Recovery! To the point, Wilde Auto is the ultimate clutch! Got a flat tire…suddenly…CRAP! This 2025 winter has NOT been fun! Checked my insurance and got a tow. Expediently, Wilde came through in no time at all (15 to 20 min flat)!! A good 2-4 hr long wait is my previous experience. My car was in a tight spot, relatively. The gentleman got my car loaded and ready to go…PERFECTLY!! From Missouri metro to Mission, KS safely and expediently. Thank you!
My husband and I were stranded on the side of the road and called our roadside assistance. they dispatched Wild Auto & Repair to come and tow us to our mechanic. Tony showed up with a big smile! He was very polite and helpful. His attitude made a bad situation better. He efficiently got us into the cab of his truck and quickly got my car loaded. During the drive he was informative and very nice. He continued to smile! Thank you Tony for your mannerisms and that wonderful smile!
This company is 7.2 miles from me. Meaning they are in my area. I was using Roadside Assistance with State Farm, I was updated that the drive had arrived. The driver had not arrived. I called the number provided, and it stated that the Voicemail box had not been set up. State Farm had verified with this company that they could help. Mind you, my car is stuck in the middle of the parking lot in my Apartment Complex. The driver sent a blurry picture of a gas station….The nearest gas station is 0.6 miles from me. If my address is googled it pops right up, so there is no excuse for confusion, and they didn’t call me either. The fact that they decided to accept the Tow, have me wait for them, Claim they arrive, and then send a picture that is CLEARLY NOT WHERE I AM LOCATED is bonkers. Obviously by the recent reviews, they don’t enjoy Insurance Tows. Screw this place.
AVOID this Tow service here in KC. I scheduled a Tow truck to come at 7: 00 AM a day before the service. The tow truck showed up a hour late and made me late to work. Then after I called to complain, the dispatch lady blocked my number and so did the tow truck driver. They canceled my tow service without letting me know and kept me stranded. Don't waste your money or time.
This tow company is the worst! Scheduled a tow through my insurance at 7:30 A.M and they were partnered with them. It’s going on 11 o’clock and they still have yet to arrive. Called multiple times to get ETA and still have yet to get anything back. I had to call my insurance provider to reschedule me a different tow company. If you see this tow company avoid it at all costs.
Would rate this company a zero if I could. A tow was reserved through insurance in advance, confirmations were sent in advance day of , and additional attempts by myself and the insurance provider attempted to reach out regarding the status no response to any of the attempts. Poor customer service and lack of follow up.
Only gave 1 star because 0 not possible. Requested tow Thanksgiving night via our insurance company. 2 hours later, driver called multiple times for directions and said he was here. I gave clear directions, even offered to meet him somewhere nearby to help him find vehicle. But really he was just stringing us along and lieing. Lied about several things. Now hour 3 in the cold we've found out he's just abandoned us here to start over with another tow company. Eta on new tow company is 60-90 min. By reading previous reviews it's clear at least some are fake. For example one says he offered for customer to ride with. This guy said that's against company policy. This company is a nightmare. Will definitely follow up with insurance until formal complaints filed at highest level and do everything in my power to see my large insurance provider doesn't do business with them again. Simply leaving this review isn't doing enough to protect others from Wilde Auto.
Update: Eventually, was able to convince the insurance company Wilde wasn't coming. Wilde driver was updating arrival time with insurance after he made it clear to us he wasn't coming (After an hour of ghosting us). Once we convinced insurance company Wilde was not showing ever, they called Brad's Towing. They arrived, loaded car in under 10 min and moved it 16 miles all in under an hour from call to home. 4 hours of stranded in cold with Wilde for nothing and under an hour to home with Brad's. Let's face it, if you are calling a tow truck you're having a bad day. Call Wilde if you want it to be much worse or someone else like Brad's if you want help.
The guy that towed my car last night from QT was very friendly and made me feel so safe. He let me ride with him and charge my phone. He made sure my car and I were both taken care of, will use them again if needed!
Driver was incredibly kind. Took excellent care of me and my car. I have them saved in my phone just in case I need a hero again! Special shout out to Shawn! Thank you thank you!
My car broke down on 670W and I felt very unsafe waiting for the tow truck they told me to leave and the driver will pick up my car. The tow truck driver that came kept me informed and was great and very professional. He went above and beyond. I would recommend them to anyone that needs a tow. 10/10
Worse experience ever.. first they sent a driver that doesn’t know how to tow the car.. the driver asks me where do they hook the car up to tow the vehicle like I work for a tow truck company.. buddy that’s why I called you guys.. second the dispatcher was very rude and unprofessional.. she told me she would send a new driver and never did.. wasted 4 hours trying to get a tow through this company.. they are very unreliable and not professional at all.. please do not waste your money or time on these folks. Trying to save lots of people time and money.. thank me later.. I repeat call any other tow company besides them..
We've used Wilde multiple times for personal and business, with no issues. They are always friendly and get us taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. 10/10 would recommend

The worst service we ever received! Apparently our insurance had teamed up with this tow company for roadside and the level of disappointment was extreme! We were left on the side of the road until 11:00 at night and we're only helped at that time because we called a different tow company that was able to make it to us in less than 30 minutes. I do not recommend this tow company regardless of your emergency!
Terrible service my Insurance company contacted them for a tow was given a 60-90 minute ETA after 1 hour I called them and the drive said he was on his way. After another hour called there Dispatch and he just dropped a vehicle off and was still 45-1hour away. Then the driver txt me and said he damage his rail rim and was at there yard trying to get one off another wrecked tow truck a this driver name Bobby is a lier and the Company is not worth doing business with.

On thanksgiving, an already dangerous night for drivers, a Wilde truck drive came up on me going about 15 mph over the speed limit, and rode my bumper feet away in the slow lane, while finally going around and riding the white line tailgating two vehicles at once. All with what looked like a white BMW on the back of the truck. I would not trust your car; if you value it at all, to these reckless drivers.
I was lucky to have a professional, nice and very responsible person. Raelene was exceptional and I will highly recommend this company.

I just wanted to give this company and the two gentlemen who helped me change the flat tire on my car this afternoon off of Chouteau by the railroad. Came to Westport at 7 pm for dinner no sign was posted anywhere. Came to parking lot to recover car and sign was on the ground with barriers entering each parking lot. Called attendant and was immediately hung up on by a woman who answered the phone .
On my way to work this morning as usual, my 2011 Suburban’s transmission decided to stall. Called my insurance (USAA) for a tow and they dispatched WA&R, the ETA was within 75 minutes. I called WA&R office just to ensure they had all my info, lady on the phone confirmed. Joe showed up to my rescue around the time that was estimated. He is courteous, treated my vehicle in a very professional manner and even chatted with me about his job because I was inquiring about it. I had asked to be towed home in my original request, Joe recommended a mechanic shop near my home and switched drop off location without an issue, as we were driving I pulled up an actual transmission shop I found on Google maps near my house so without hesitation Joe said it was ok to switch drop off location once more since it was all in the same vicinity. He off loaded my vehicle and after my paperwork was complete at R.A.M.M. transmission shop in Raymore, he offered me and gave me a ride home down about 4 miles. I appreciate him making an unpleasant situation better by doing his job in a respectful and constructive manner. Consider your day already better if Joe has to tow you! Good luck!!
