This place is trash, no pun intended. They just charged me $250 to unload a half a 6 x 12 trailer of construction debris. I’ve unloaded trash at multiple small places around the metro area and I’ve never paid more than $100. It would’ve been more cost effective to get a dumpster dropped off.
$130 for a trailer of construction debris that would've been $70 at Twin City Refuse.. and I've gotten flat tires from nails 2 of the 3 times I've been here because it's such a poorly managed mess.. save yourself the headache and go anywhere else
Had a small issue with getting out the gate but Angel and the maintenance man were there to help make it right! Fantastic customer service, very friendly, and excited to hear about a new policy being implemented to make exiting the premises a bit smoother! Wow….they take feedback to heart!
Waste and recycling pick up are fine. No issues. Was hesitant to make a review, but after the inconsistencies of prices when going there with trailers of demo, it seems to be a problem. Costs vary within a $100 spread month to month depending on who is working and what kind of mood they are in, but they appear to have doubled from there recently. I know inflation has compounding effects and may be the culprit. I'd advise making the trip to Cambridge or elsewhere until it gets sorted out.
We had been with Waste Management and SRC for quite awhile. We did not have a problem so much with WM as SRC. The problem was with the woman who runs SRC. I had already filed a complaint last year and will not revisit that. That complaint was not acknowledged and conveniently removed by SRC. Oh to tarnish her already nasty reputation with buisness dealings. After that, every single time we had pickup, once a week, our trash cans were found tipped over, Upside down or in our ditch. I've moved our service because it's like talking to a wall when trying to get any issue resolved. Good riddance. You asked why we discontinued our service with you??? Hmm guess you haven't figured it out yet because I know alot of customers of yours that have made the jump as well.
Id recommend taking your business elsewhere, i just left getting charged $513 dollars to dump a grapple truck, we've been dumping there all summer and prices were all over the board from $50-250 which i was fine with. But when you double the amount on a repeat customer and then tell me maybe we can do it for $350 but thats the best we can do. Ill gladly make the extra drive to go somewhere else.
Cheap place to dump stuff, but dude in the tractor is rude and guys at front desk are not helpful. Please realize not everyone comes in with laser knowledge of what pile is supposed to be used for each item, and rudeness is not helpful
Uncomfortable price variance. A 6x12 open trailer was $160 on Saturday 6/1, then identical load with same materials other than microwave was $360 two days later. Guessing there’s an extra charge for that but nothing that close on the pricing website. Turned around and went to SKB instead for $147 (not including microwave).
I’d highly recommend DKV in Rush City or Cambridge waste transfer over SRC unless you want to pay ~3x and have a typically poor customer experience for self-dump, but I go here for convenience as it’s on the way to work.
I’ve had several roll-offs from here and have hauled a lot of misc demolition through a construction project. Roll-off prices are comparable to anywhere, but expect to pay double per yard dropping off demo yourself for some reason vs their roll offs + making you sort if you bring any metal/cardboard etc, which is not typical at other transfer sites from my experience. The guys at the front are usually friendly although prices can double on the weekends for compost or demo and leads to some bartering.
I’ve had a few memorably poor experiences with the yard staff being rude / cursing about stupid stuff like differing opinions on where to dump loads vs the guys up front, a couple missed pop cans or dumping a trailer a few paces off the large piles to avoid nails and other debris.
Paul is always so kind and helpful! He gives clear instructions and is able to answer all my questions! I'm relieved when he is the one walking up to my window!
Construction waste disposal prices from this company is WAY higher than others. I used same trailer with similar load to Malcom Transfer in St. Paul and SRC in Wyoming MN was $320 vs $89. They just look at it and guess at weight. Malcom Transfer weights every vehicle and is pricing fair.

My card was hacked, long story short, I didn't realize that was the card I had the trash linked to, I made my payment at 6am online. 2 hours before they even open. It turns out they make their lists 2 days in advance, and check them the day before. It doesn't matter if you pay your bill in the middle of that. I was informed I could bring my trash there. I informed the lady on the phone I have lifting restrictions post surgery... in the nicest way possible she said tough luck. Definitely feel like it should be something checked daily. I would definitely try another company if I could. I don't blame the lady on the phone. I doubt she has any say in the messed up way they do things.
Very expensive While the people in the yard are great, especially Paul and Eli.The src owner won't help a disabled veteran get service by backing truck up to her porch. The veteran is not able to walk and pull the barrels to the road with out danger of falling.
lady on the phone was very nice. reasonable prices. most of all David was very friendly and professional. he helped me dump some small furniture and seemed like a very hard worker.
I’ve had recycling missed pickup 4 times in the 11 months I’ve used SRC. Twice in a row most recently . With recycling pickup every other week that is a month’s worth of recycling that I payed for and did not receive service. When I called on the first missed recycling, I was told “sorry, just leave additional recycling next to the can”. Never mind that I payed for the service that wasn’t performed…
When I called for the second missed pickup I was told a driver would be contacted to pick up recycling. They never showed and I received no call back from the office.
I’ve never had such poor service in garbage and recycling collection and I’ve used several companies throughout the years over the course of several homes. With a young family and several pets, I can’t miss recycling for a month. Sorry SRC, I’m going to switch to the company the rest of my block uses for good reason.
Update:
Marg spoke with me in person and over the phone. She apologized for the missed recycling dates. She went on to explain the difficulty they have had in hiring drivers with the labor shortage during Covid. I understand the need for substitute drivers that may be unfamiliar with the route, but if a pickup is missed and it’s not on the forgetfulness of the customer, send the truck back out. I missed plenty of pickup days in the past, but I never called on those because the fault was mine. When the error is on behalf of the driver, own up to it.
The attention and customer service I received from Marg changed my original review. I did end up switching companies in the end to make a change.

If my neighbors on the street I live on also did not have recycling picked up on the days I called (full recycling bins at the end of their driveway well after pickup times) then the issue is with the the truthfulness of your driver. I have nothing to gain from posting this review, I rarely if ever review anything.
I thought Marg and I were on the same page after she pulled into my driveway unannounced one morning demanding to know why I posted this review. After talking rather abruptly in person and a follow up phone call, I thought the matter was settled, I even revised my original review. Now reading the company’s revised response I’m content because it perfectly reflects this company entirely…
I recently moved to north branch and need to hire a garbage company.
I called SRC a little bit ago to get things set up with them.
The lady who answered the phone at SRC, was so rude and nasty, I hung up.
I just called the new garbage company in Rush city, and paid up the bill for a year!! She was really happy to take the time to set up a new customer..less than 5 minutes, including my payment for 1 year up front!
YOUR LOSS SRC!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN BUSINESS SRC!
I am very disappointed with their payment system - they changed their automatic payment system so I had to sign up again. In order to set it up you first make a payment then about one week later you have to go back in again to set up automatic payment. It should not be be this complicated to make a payment and set up automatic payments. Over the years that we’ve had them I have not found their customer service to be friendly or very helpful.
Depending on which yard attendant you get the prices fluctuate wildly. Suggest the yard have a price system on a website so people know up front. Being fleeced for a load of waste is not customer service. 2 Stars for the organization of the yard with easy to read signage and attempts to preserve the surrounding area.
SCR are price gougers and not afraid to overcharge. They charged me and laughed when I questioned the price. I had 2 large items and I’m 56 years old, they watched me unload them and never offered any assistance. No wonder they lost the forest lake account. Hope they are happy in their overprice pile of garbage.
Great place ... very friendly and helpful staff they greet you at the entrance to the yard. Prices are fair the best thing is is that they accept just about anything that you can want to get rid of. There are fees for some items but clean scrap metal drop-off is free and they also buy aluminum cans at top prices which is nice.
I paid $475 to get rid of 18 yards of demo (Plywood and siding) that took me 2 trips to bring there and unload myself, a total of 2 hours drive time and 2 hours total to unload both loads. (Not to mention the gas $ as well) Couple hours later i found out I could of got a 20 yard dumpster for demolition garbage for $417 delivered and picked up.
I guess the jokes on me for not knowing any better. I just figured it would have to be cheaper doing the work myself and bringing it there.
I told the manager my story and the first thing she said was: your not going to get any kind of refund!

I have used SRC for 15+years at multiple locations. My trash was not picked up last week. We called and was told that there was a substitute driver. No, I'm sorry or someone will be by for the mistake. Was basically told to deal with my full trash can for another week. When I asked for a credit for the missed week, that's prepaid for, I was offered a $2.00 credit. I know that I pay more than $2.00 a week for a service that is not being provided. Office lady was very rude for their mistakes. I canceled my service at all 3 locations, as the last year this company has been rapidly declining in customer service.
We have had SRC as our collectors for around 40 years now and they are absolutely the best. They have been here for us through “thick and thin”. Never would we even consider someone else.
Been using them for about 20 years at three different addresses. No issues here and drop off large stuff at there Wyoming location. Always have been fair with prices that I have seen.
SRC has been our trash service since 2014. 2 times we have run into the old "trash didnt get picked up" moment!! Now to be fair I am not sure if it was our end or theirs.
I picked up the phone and called them. Without hesitantion the customer service rep handling the calls was very helpful, nice to deal with and efficient. I was off the phone within 1-2 min and they had a pickup lined up from a driver in the area.
In the end, I want to say thank you to this SRC for being there for us as a customer all the way around. Its hard to find these businesses that have an all around great experience from begining to end. Lastly, thanks to the driver who is possibly extending their route today for us. We realize that it could mean extra time away from your day, family, hobbies, etc!!
