They need to be sued for purposely prolonging the process of sending an email notary for 3 days and were caught red handed that it was never ever sent. The ladies would say "I sent it" and will wait on the phone with us knowing damn well it was never sent. I had two employees one day after the next both say they "sent out an authorization form to my mother's email". However, it was VERIFIED and CONFIRMED, thankfully on a recorded line that not a single email was sent either time and I was being lied to so they can charge more and more storage fees. This was confirmed by their
INTERNAL MANAGEMENT TEAM. The look on your faces when the attorney plays your recorded tape and shows no email was ever sent. You will feel like the two biggest fools.
Nora in the office was extremely helpful and patient after my accident. And offered suggestions moving forward after such a terrible experience as a totaled car will cause. Thank You!
These people are so nice. They were very helpful. I would give them 10 stars but I can't, only goes to 5. Exceptional service from the front desk woman. The men that drove me to the car, helped me pack all my belongings up. I don't know why you have bad reviews you are excellent! Thank you so much for everything. Oh the one girl I don't remember the young ladies name has her lunch delivered. She even asked me if I would like some. I can't believe it. Thank you again and God bless you all.
Luke and Julie helped me in a bad situation, not a place everyone wants to be but they do have respect and morals, hopefully I am never back here but I know if I I was to be here I’d have great people to work with.
Area Towing should be put out of business. They charged $780 to tow my daughters car 7 miles. Also the State Police should be fined for still using them. The State Police must be getting a kick back from Area Towing. They are out of Taylor MI. No one should have to pay that type of money/ fees for a tow and the car was not in their yard for even two hours! Avoid these crooks at all cost. Use you own towing method.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY My car got hit and was towed to this place they damaged my car more than what it was they blew out the windows I have pictures of my car before being towed and none of the windows were broken the car had been hit only on the drivers side nothing else we popped the hood and they had cut everything out of it and it looked like they had TAKEN PARTS OUT OF IT they trashed the inside of it. It looked like it had been ransacked by the workers. WORST experience with the front desk person too very rude I was put on hold everytime I asked a question they want to charge all most $700 on top of them completely messing up and looking through your car DO NOT LET THEM TAKE YOUR CAR!!!!!!
A car we own was impounded! We were contacted by the state. I called Area Towing to find out what i needed to do! Nora was very kind and assured me that she would do everything she could to help me! Antonio also was helpful taking us to seethe car as was the gentleman that brought the car out to us! Thank you again AreaTowing!

City of Taylor residents beware if area towing is dispatched you will get ripped off!!
Area towing was dispatched to tow my vehicle without my consent after an accident. I provided AAA credentials and asked several times for them not to tow my vehicle as i had a flatbed in route which actually arrived prior to Area towing. Officers insisted area had to remove it. After taking the vehicle I drove right to their facility approximately 7miles away and they were closed and were charging me a storage free, tow, impound, hook up, wrench, state trooper premium, and now an after hours fee to recover the vehicle.
They told me I could come back tomorrow for the pickup and avoid the after hours fee. I agreed and returned next day to have hundreds added on for overnight storage
This was such a rip off please don’t ever use this company for any towing needs! Beware !!!
In cahoots with Taylor police department and BJs restaurant at Southland Mall. Towed my car with no reason (was parked at restaurant for two hours. I was a patron of the restaurant. Car got towed and the manager at BJs told the police I was there for 2-3 days - which is completely untrue). The police department, BJs and this towing company pointed the finger at eachother for 2 hours, just for me to have to pay nearly $500 to get my car untowed for PATRONIZING the restaurant it was PARKED at.
Shame on them. I will not stop until I get my money back.
Do not let them tow your vehicle, they will rip you off and charge you more than any other tow yard. Cost me over $800 to have my car that was totalled by a drunk driver. They had my car over the weekend and now I have to have it towed to my house to avoid anymore fees. Please do not let them rip you off like they did to me.
This is THEE absolute worst company! If you have the displeasure of this company towing your vehicle, especially in a wreck, be prepared to pay THOUSANDS of dollars and or lose your vehicle. Do not ever use them!! I only have them a 1 star since I couldn't give them no stars! Terrible terrible company!
The driver was very kind and arrived within 15 minutes. Everyone at the towing site were very helpful. The process was stressful, but the way it was handled made it stress free!
Getting car towed is never a fun experience but the staff here made it easy. Quick response and respected my property. Driver was polite and informative how to handle things. Office staff was the same quick and made things easy.
This place is terrible. They treat you as if you have just committed a major crime or you are there to rob a bank, not to get your own personal belongings out of your car. Make sure that you have your Title, car insurance, Drivers license, police report copy info, and 911 on speed dial. They will only let the owner of the vehicle back w 5 mins on the clock so be quick. And this is only if you have been in a major car accident.
This place really took care of my dad, when he was in an auto accident on 94.
One company got a call to tow dad's truck, and the other things, but only took his truck.
Area towing came and got the rest of dad's stuff, cleaned up everything a real nice job.
When I took Dad for his belongings, Area Towing wouldn't Charge My Dad, They Were The Best.

My son passed away unexpectedly in MI on 9/10/2020. It was a tragic accident. His car was found parked on a side street. As he was a pedestrian hit by an SUV, the MI State Trooper had his car towed to this lot. The judge they petitioned did not allow them to open his car (no key was found). As my 29 year old son died in intestate (no will), I had to apply for Personal Representative to take care if his estate. I live in VA, and it took three months. I contacted the State Trooper who worked Daniel's case and gave him permission to pop open the car. Nothing of suspicion was found. That same day I called Area Towing and Recovery and spoke to a pleasant young lady who said based upon the circumstances, and the fact that our family wanted to donate the car to someone in need, she was sure that the towing and impound fee of $3500 would be reduced. Now, the bluebook value on the car is $2300. Today Ryan from the company called me. He said I had to pay the full $3500 to get the car out. I explained the circumstances, and was unsympathetic and rude. I feel defeated. I didn't have the car towed there, the police did, even though it was not part of the accident.
Beware of this dubious company.
My heart is broken.
My brother died in September and we have been waiting on probate court since then. His car was towed here after his death as we didn't have a key. It's been sitting as we have waited. My mom contacted the court weekly and got everything done as quickly as possible. She spoke with a woman at the lot who was very nice and said she would try to see how much of a discount she could work out. She then spoke with Ryan who told her she would have to pay the full $3500. The car isn't even worth $3000 and we just want to donate it. Even after explaining all of this, he didn't care and said there would be no exceptions. He has no compassion or care for others and I am disgusted by his behavior and the way he treated my grieving mother.
I was in a accident and didnt know my car was being impounded there. My impound fee was crazy high and they worked with me. The women was on the phone was so friendly and helpful. The gentlemen that took me to get the last bit of my stuff from the car was very nice. I had a very good experience with them.
At area towing getting my car right now. So far so good. I read all kinds of bad reviews on here about them, but they have been very nice and helpful, just have your information and money to get your stuff. They will let you know over the phone what you need and how much.
Let me start off by saying area towing is a great company. I was treated with respect and honesty. I got into a bad accident awhile ago, I was at fault and my vehicle was totaled. I had contacted area towing and spoken to Michelle to set up payment arrangements for an abandoned vehicle. Michelle handled everything for me. She provided awesome customer service and was very helpful and understanding of my situation. I am extremely overjoyed thank you so much.
My car got towed here after being pulled over my the Michigan State Police. It was here for about a month plus I didn’t have insurance on the car so the total to get my car out was around $1,000. It was my fault the car got impounded because of a stupid decision I made so I was prepared to pay this much to get it released. On top of that, the battery had died and the fuel line had froze from sitting in the cold for so long. I was feeling pretty helpless since I was almost out of cash and didn’t know what to do. That’s when Bob came out to talk to me and offered so much help to try to get my car running. He let me borrow jumper cables and a gas can and gave me directions to the nearest O’Reilly’s. Long story short, the car wouldn’t start that night so the next day he called and offered to tow my car back to my house from Taylor to Livonia for only $30. Say what you want about this place but there’s actually good people that work here. If it weren’t for Bob I wouldn’t have my car today. Impounds and towing services aren’t cheap ANYWHERE so for people to single out this one place is unfair. Don’t get in trouble and get your car impounded and you won’t have to pay so much money Thanks Bob for your excellent customer service and for all of the help you gave to me it did not go unnoticed and will forever be appreciated.
They were very rude and disrespectful when I went in to check about my father's motorcycle. They only had a one-way glass to where I couldn't see them and apparently their phone systems an internet was down so you couldn't get ahold of them through the phone. My father's motorcycle was only in there two days and they wanted to charge almost $500 because he was in an accident and it was totaled. I would not recommend this place at all.
Questionable relationship with the police department but they took care of me. Being in a situation where my car was towed from the scene of an accident, not at my fault, they really cut down my storage and towing fees to a suprisingly fair rate. They tried pretty hard to make sure I left satisfied and I appreciate the effort.
