A one of a kind place,to find "off the wall" older pieces of memorabilia. Not a fancy pants kinda place, but very personable and knowledgeable help. Two barn floors, for your shopping pleasure! A great place to check out! WORTH THE DRIVE!@
It is it's own niche. Not antiques of high value. Not a Salvation Army style or thrift store type of place (prices here too high for that). But....mostly old stuff of the kind you'd find on the street or a garage sale of a really old person or a junk yard back yard up north someplace or the garage collection of stuff from a person who would spend years collecting knowing it would be useful to 'someone someday'. Like the car door. That's the niche. Someone someday is going to grab that and be so thrilled and say "I remember when....." Then maybe they'll make a cool sign at The Barn to go with it with all the stencils they have for saying what's in your heart and mind. I liked the vibe of the place but didn't buy anything. They had lots of ceramic plant holders...which I often cruise for.... but $35 or so is not my personal niche price. But I did love the funky car door and thought it would make a cool piece of yard art with plants hanging all over it (in the Detroit Heidelberg style of decorating) and the entrance is extremely picturesque and a good hint to what's inside. You just might find it here.
A real barn with two floors of antiques and knick knacks. Prices for the most part are quite reasonable, and in some cases lower than expected. Well worth a visit.
We went here for our annual work outing. The ladies were very helpful and patient with ask of us doing our signs. They have so many cute antique items for sale as well.
Love The Barn! Soo many treasures to be found, inside and out! The handmade custom cornhole boards are amazing! I was looking for a particular piece, but didn’t see it. Spoke with the owner about it and she said they had that in their pole barn location and they went to get if for me! Glad I spoke up! Now I have exactly what I was looking for.
This place was very uncomfortable to come into. I felt like I was intruding and no one whatsoever greeted me or acknowledged my presence. It was a very weird place. It looked like an antique store upstairs but downstairs they had some sort of classes it looked like. Just not very welcoming. Would never come back here.
Also maybe taking the time to re-evaluate your staff and how you treat people instead of calling them "Liars" and reporting them to Google would be time better well spent.
They did a beautiful job re making signs that were distroid in a house fire. They also made a couple towel ladders for me. I can't remember the young mans name that made them. He did a great job on them. Lourie was so helpful and kind. Thank you so much, you have no idea what it means to me... Pam
Owner tried to BS me on an item, telling me that it was extremely rare, even though I am very familiar with that particular piece (I am a collector). However, I was still somewhat interested in the piece if it could be had at a decent price. She was not willing to negotiate on price though, despite the fact that the item had been sitting in the same spot near a window so long that the ink pen writing on the tag was faded to an almost un-readable condition.
Not sure what happened to this place but the prices have almost doubled on everything I had two people setting up tables and look at me as I walked in the door and turn their heads without even saying hello, maybe they didn't work there I don't know but there wasn't anyone else around for the 20 minutes I was there. What gives? Are there new owners or something? Unfortunately the inside of the lower half is mostly classroom and the upstairs has a lot of over priced pieces now.. the cheapest thing I could find was a rusty hinge that didn't even work anymore and they wanted $12... after going here for years I'm afraid to say this was my last time going inside . I left my review from a year ago under this so you could see what a difference it has become.
What a great find, rusty metal antiques outside, nice fun antiques inside the big red barn.. Owner is super nice and helpful... The atmosphere is so fun to be in, I enjoy going in once in a while...
This place is awesome! I never seen an antique shop put together quite like this. The offer great services including family photos and making signs... I'm impressed! Creative business thinking.
My wife and I attended a sign class last week and we couldn't be happier... it was such a nice deviation from the usual night out. We spent the evening just being with each other, drinking a glass of wine, and making this cool personalized sign. I would highly recommend this little spot for a fun night out with your spouse or a group of friends. The instructor was fun and the price was more than fair. My wife ended up spending a few bucks on some other items in their shop, and those are also displayed throughout our house. Go there, make a sign... you will be pleased you did.
I signed up for a custom sign class with my bridesmaids. The two class options are private and open and we picked a PRIVATE class for our bachelorette party. After planning this a month out it is now a week away and we have learned that even though it is a private class, we are still sharing the room with another group at another table.
The information provided on the website is very misleading and unforthcoming. I'm still looking forward to the class but am incredibly disappointed that I have to share my bachelorette party with random other people when we were under the impression that it would be just for us.
Loved the Barn! Stopped in yesterday and to look for things for the house. Judy who was working was very nice and made sure we were finding what we were looking for. We will be back here soon! Guys, trust me, there's man cave stuff in here too. The downside, you'll have to drag your wife out. It's a cool place!
One word ~ AWESOME! The Barn is the type of place I could spend hours in! I have visited many times, have done several photo shoots there, and recently tried the pallet class they offer. Instant fan!! It was so fun! Dave was wonderful to work with, extremely patient, creative, and so helpful to our group of five ladies. Dave took our visions and brought them to life, he truly has a gift! The staff is wonderful and so friendly every time I visit! I'm so glad to have stumbled onto this gem of a place! It's the type of place that just feels good to your soul!! <3
Treated like garbage by one staff member, yelled at in front of other customers, and spoken to very rudely. When I quietly informed staff as I signed my $400 Visa Charge, that I did not appreciate her rudeness towards myself and my daughter, she stated, I'm not being rude to you!" Which is of course rude. I refuse to have sales clerks behave as if they are doing me a favor as I spend my money at their establishment; this incident will be my last as I will not spend 5 to 8 hundred dollars per visit ever again at this store. There are plenty of other antique stores in the area.
THIS.PLACE.IS.GREAT! If you are looking for a unique gift or decor for your home this is the place to go. Try to talk to Dave if you go....he will hook you up with something creative/unique that you probably couldn't find elsewhere! I know they are now offering pallet sign classes as well, which look like a lot of fun. The Barn is my go-to place for gifts for my wife and she has loved them all!
Very cozy, relaxing environment while we made our gorgeous signs with the ever-patient Dave taking the lead. Everyone there was fantastic and I cannot wait to do it again! Great day with the girls!
Today my husband and I had a wonderful experience at the barn. Our afternoon date consisted of a pre-plan pallet class. The on-line pre-planning process with Dave was great. He made the process easy and fun. Going to the barn was awesome, the environment was great. From the wonderful atmosphere, the antique soda cooler, to the fantastic photo opt area. During the class I found myself just browsing the great would structures and colors. Our class took about 2.5 hours and the result was amazing. We left wanting more and loving the two pieces we made.
We had a group of 5 ladies who decided to take the pallet class. Dave, who is in charge of the pallet class, is wonderful! He answered all of our questions and was very patient with us. He helped us design our pallets and come up with beautiful pieces. On the day of the class, I wasn't sure what to expect. However, the moment I walked in, I knew it was going to be a fun experience! Everything was very organized and Dave walked us through the entire process. If you are looking for something different than the normal "paint a canvas sign" then this is the class for you! Check out their website to see all the different creations. Basically, if you can imagine it, Dave can create it! Awesome place!!!
I truly cannot say enough great things about The Barn Antiques. I normally find myself checking the place out on my lunches breaks, as I work nearby. Up to date, I have purchased 4 pallet signs as presents for family/friends. Dave does an amazing job taking my non creative ideas and making them beautiful. Besides the amazing items they sell, everyone who works there is beyond kind and helpful! Check them out. You will not be disappointed! :)
My mom and I decided to do the sign making class last week. Dave was super flexible and was able to fit us in quickly. He worked with us to make the designs in our mind appear before us. We loved every minute of the experience. Definitely recommend this as a fun afternoon project!
My friends and I took the pallet class. What an amazing experience. The instructor Dave was super helpful and knows whats hes doing. He was very patient with our group and our signs turned out great!! I recommend this class to everyone looking for a fun night out doing crafts!
Have you been to the Barn lately? I was there a year or so ago, I didn't go back. Recently, I was in the area and since I hit up all the local antique places the metro area I thought I'd stop back in. I was surprised that it was making a little come back. There are definitely a few booths that are worth stopping in to take a look at when I'm nearby now. You can tell they are trying to appeal to a broader audience with reclaimed pieces, salvage stuff, some art pieces, pottery, etc.. I don't want to say too much, don't want to give out all my secret spots.. lol
I absolutely love going to The Barn Antiques! I love the addition of DIY classes, and the repurposed items. There is always some special treasure I have to take home. Love it!
What a gem - heard about this place from a Craigslist seller - long way from my house but stopped while heading to the west side of the state. Seems to have something for everyone's style and budget. Looks like they are making some changes. Owner said they will be doing rentals for weddings, photo shoots, etc. as well as Pinterest DYI projects. One of those stores I put on my "happy place" list.
