Hal’s always does a good job on our cars. They keep us informed as to what needs to be done, the progress, and then give us a detailed report at the end as to what was done and what else might need to be done at some point. I do wish they wrapped the diagnostic fee into the overall price instead of billing separately as this was a bit of a surprise, but the price itself was reasonable and we are quite happy with the results.
They're unreasonably expensive. They mark up their parts by 200% (not exaggerating). They charged us $1,117.76 to replace 16 spark plugs. $644.32 for labor and $473.44 for parts. The OEM spark plugs are $9 from reputable vendors. They dont need to be marking up the cost of these by that much (especially when they're selling 16 of them)
This is just one example of the thievery that goes on. They were probably a reasonable shop to go to before they got bought out by Detroit garage.
If you take your car here. Expect to drain your savings account.

They got me in right away and took care of the issue very fast. A great place to go.

I had a pretty sophisticated problem with an adjustable air ride suspension system that they did not have the equipment to work on. Nevertheless they provided me with great feedback, and cut the inspection cost in half. I would definitely use this business again.
First-time customer. Provided detailed inspection of primary vehicle systems, including pics. Suggested components for replacement. Very professional. Will use again.
Our car's alternator died, luckily just a few blocks away from Hal's. Never heard of them before as we live about 25 minutes away from here. I called and talked to Lori who was super helpful and she was able to squeeze us in and get the car repaired very quickly and at a great price. I was extremely impressed with the amount of time and effort they spent on the complimentary inspection as they found another major issue with an axle seal that I most likely would have never known about until the differential completely burned up. It's funny because I just had the car at the dealer for an oil change and this was totally missed on their multi point inspection. That particular location is difficult to spot due to the low profile, but Hal's saved me there!
I will say that I have to pass probably a dozen auto repair shops to get to Hal's, but it's where we'll go from now own if it's something I can't/won't do myself. Thanks Lori and everyone at Hal's!
Lori at Hal’s Auto Clinic was amazing to work with. She’s friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. She kept me updated, explained everything clearly, and went above and beyond to make sure my car was taken care of. You can tell she truly cares about her customers. we had an Acadia older model 2012. timing chain broke. they said they can make it like a new truck. 3276.00 it lasted 12 months. 2340.00 dollars . they worked on it again. lasted 3 weeks!. wanted another 2000 + dollars and we sais no thank you. we're senior citizens on a fixed income. the worst experiences ever. and also we are family. we got tucked. don't ever go to this ever unless you want get scammed!
Hal’s checked out my lease vehicle before I purchased it. They did a thorough inspection and provided written detail of what issues the vehicle had. Thankfully, the issues were minor. Hal’s put my mind at ease. They are professional and trustworthy.

The two service reps upfront or both friendly and informative. My oil change tire rotation was taken care of in a timely manner. The price was very reasonable.

I can’t say enough about Hal’s and the service we received. They quickly diagnosed the problem and completed the work in a timely manner. They were constantly communicating throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend them for car service. We will definitely be going back.
Recently I Visited Hal’s auto clinic for car Ac repair. They diagnosed it correctly and fixed it with in the same day. In diagnosis tests they find out I just left with 3 ounces freon instead of 20. They fixed the real root cause causing this leakage and recharge the freon. It cost me around 780 bucks. Diagnosis, labor , parts and recharge. Great work team. Kudos to you guys . Thank you so much.
Hal’s is the best! My daughter was in a huge bind and was stranded in Northville. I called and not only did Lori get her in immediately, and I mean immediately, my daughter was treated like family. Lori made my worry as a father a lot less worrisome. Thank you Lori and Hal’s!

Hal’s is the best! We had a recall on our Tahoe and took it in to the dealership. One of our tires was leaking and we asked the dealership to assess the tire. The dealership said nothing was wrong with the tire and just rotated them. The tire was still leaking so I called Hal’s. Hal’s got me in right away and found a nail in tire. Hal’s got it fixed and even gave my three year old a snack. Hal’s is the best! They also send oil change reminders and can do everything through text.
My family has been bringing our cars to Hal's Auto Clinic for decades. The people are friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and honest. They don't try to pressure you into unnecessary work, and the prices are reasonable. They get the work done in a timely manner, all the while keeping you updated by phone calls or text. I highly recommend!
5 stars!! Hal's and the team there have been professional, courteous, and will go the extra mile, even if the news you're receiving is not necessarily the news you were hoping for. The technicians will do the work right the first time and will not recommend something unnecessary. I waited for awhile to put this review in to make sure the replaced parts, services and vehicle is as it should be, and it is. Highly recommend the team at Hal's in Northville. Hal's Auto Clinic is great! Lori quickly got me an appointment and Eric performed a pre-purchase inspection on a used vehicle that was very detailed and helpful for me to negotiate pricing with the dealership. I can't recommend them for this service enough!
I was super pleased with the experience I had here at Hal's. I was having a presale inspection done on a used Toyota 4runner I was planning on purchasing from a private seller. The team did a complete and swift inspection to make sure everything on the car was in working order. Lori went over everything with me and gave me a feeling of confidence with my purchase.
