I was driving on the highway going home to Indiana from Dexter when I noticed my car shaking anytime I would accelerate over 60 mph. I was concerned there might be an issue that would cause me to be unsafe driving so I found Palmer auto and requested in an evaluation. The very friendly and courteous service person checked out my vehicle checked the possible concerns, and then actually drove it out on the highway to see whether he noticed any shaking and could further diagnose the issue. Fortunately it was diagnosed is most likely being a snowing ice buildup behind my tires that caused an imbalance and the shaking. Therefore no work needed to be done. When I asked what I owed for the service he said nothing. He took at least a half an hour of his time to diagnose and even drive my vehicle and very kindly showed great customer service by not charging me a fee. This is the kind of business than anybody needing any type of service can trust and no a thorough job will be done and they will treat you with respect.
Palmer Auto has been a great place for me to take my car. Jack is an excellent mechanic, the office and support staff are helpful and kind, especially Stephanie as she helped me with an extended warranty claim.

I used Palmer Auto service for the 1st time on Thursday 10/30/25 to get an oil change and air cleaner filter. Their service was quick and easy to use with reasonable costs. They offered rides if needed. I was very pleased with their service and would recommend them.
The battery on the Ford Explorer was functioning intermitently, making it difficult to determine the cause of the vehicle not starting. Palmer discovered and fixed the problem. We also had a thorough diagnostic check of the vehicle which allowed us to plan for future maintenance. We are pleased with the level of care and service we received and would recommend Palmer to others.

Our car started making weird noises so we dropped in unannounced. They saw us right away and helped us and we were out the door in half an hour. Five stars-- hopefully I don't have to come back but if I do, I know I'll be well taken care of.

Palmer Auto Service LLC offered excellent services again, with the most-appreciated courtesy of use of a loaner car at no charge. The planned services for my 2015 Ford Taurus included an oil and filter change, cabin air filter, flushing and refilling the cooling system, and replacing worn pieces in the front suspension. Servicing the suspension revealed a coil spring had broken in two parts. Replacement of the front struts dramatically improved the ride and handling. I highly recommend Palmer Auto Service LLC and appreciate the craftsmanship of their services.
Bob and Stephanie were GREAT! I took Stella in for a gas tank shield replacement and thanks to their thoroughness, they found a MAJOR issue with my drive shaft. They were so friendly and patient in waiting on some unexpected parts. I highly recommend Palmer for all your Auto needs. 😊
Picked up a nail in one of our tires on our way to Chelsea to grab lunch. The Palmer team was able to fit us in to their schedule and took care of the tire in about the same time it took us to have lunch. Everyone on the staff was helpful and professional.
Initial estimate was for $2k+ with of diagnostics and checks on my older vehicle. Because of their expertise, they confirmed the most costly to repair items first and saved me a significant amount of money! While they didn't do the repair, I am bringing my replacement vehicle for review immediately after. Thank you for being honest, through, and great!
Highly recommend. We broke down on I-96 and had the tow truck bring us here, since we live two hours away. They were more than accommodating to us. They couldn't get us in but went way out of their way to help us. Very friendly staff. If I lived closer, this is where I would bring my vehicles.
First off I would like to state that every single staff member ,either spoke to or dealt with in any way, they were so friendly and helpful. From the moment I called I was treated like family. It was a difficult situation for me even. I brought my car in with one problem assuming there may be more and there was. They were accommodating and kind. They helped me out in every possible way. I have recommended them already to 3 people and I have only had my car back for 2 days. Thank you to all the staff for saving my sanity.

Palmer's team braved low, low temperatures to retrieve my car. They replaced the battery under warranty with $0 cost to me. How great can it be? They even smiled as they gave me the key back.

Great service, reliable and fair price. More than a decade using Palmer for multiple vehicles and I can say I trust them and know that their service is right and I can feel confident in their guidance. Have had two cars go over 300k miles with their help. Now keeping a 250k vehicle running, too. Having a free loaner vehicle really helps when having extended repairs.
We had a great experience with Palmer auto. I took my son to a doctor appt 40 minutes from home, and when I got back to my car, it wouldn’t start. I had it towed to Palmer just by chance, but it was a total God send! They had to keep my van overnight, so they helped me remove 3 car seats (total pain) and put them into another car, and then they gave us a ride all the way back home!
To top it off, they delivered my van back to my house…this was super helpful considering I didn’t have to load up my family to drive back out that way. Totally recommend .

Very happy to have a local service center close by in Chelsea. Palmer Auto installed a used tire (purchased online) on my GMC Terrain. They also checked that everything else was in good shape under the hood. Very personalized service that I would highly recommend!

I've been using Palmer for 11 years now ever since we moved to Chelsea. I prefer supporting small businesses and have come to trust and rely on Palmer for all of my vehicles that need service. Very professional and knowledgeable. They explain everything that they find and the estimates are accurate. They people that work there are great and I enjoy just talking to them when I'm in there. My most recent service for my F150 turned out better than I expected and the problems could have been much more expensive than they were. They also delivered my truck to my house after paying for the service over the phone. They offer that to everyone. It was the first time I took them up on that because I couldn't find time to pick it up. Great business and people!
