Did a simple tire rotation and regular maintenance after dearship gave me list of what i need to do which did not make any sense to me. but KEVIN inspected my car and told me there is nothing wrong with the car and fluids that i need to worry about. will take my wife’s Lexus for a complete inspection and maintenance this Saturday and absolutely happy with easy appointments they will give you.

I cannot praise this place enough. I am a completely inept woman when it comes to cars. When I called and spoke with Cap he was patient with me and understanding of the fact that I was broke. He told me what the total cost would be to get everything fixed, then he told me what I had to do to make my car safe to drive. Tom went above and beyond with my engine, fishing out pieces of some part that exploded into it.

My experience with tuffy was phenomenal. The prices are fair, Cap is very personable. You can tell he has the knowledge to do his job correctly and actually cares about your safety and road safety when recommending repairs. My family has gone to a Tuffy for all my life and my first time bringing my own vehicle to them just solidified why we’ve stayed here

Tuffy was the third place I tried after the first two places couldn’t work on my high roof van. Very professional, knowledgeable and actually fixed my vehicle. They will definitely be my go to place from now on. 5 ⭐

Fast service, very reasonable price. I installed a new starter on my tahoe and all of a sudden my truck stopped starting. I called the guys at tuffy and they got me in immediately. Turns out I broke the clip that holds a small wire to the back of the starter. They replaced the wiring harness for me in a matter of a few short hours. Big thanks to the team!!

I cannot say enough positive things about Tuffy of Troy! From start to finish, the service was absolutely magnificent. Chad was very professional, friendly, and Chad understood us needing help being from out of town and the technician wasted no time diagnosing and fixing the issue. The turnaround to get us back on the road was impressively quick without sacrificing quality, and everything was explained clearly and honestly. It's rare to find an auto shop that combines speed, efficiency, and exceptional customer service care without getting ripped off seamlessly. I truly felt valued as a customer and will returning the future if I ever have another vehicle problem when I'm in town. I had check engine light issues,and they got me in January 2nd when I had to leave for Kansas Jan4th. Everyone was extremely nice,and they gave me excellent service.

Had to get my wife’s jeep fixed after her tire snapped off. Whole rim needed to be replaced. They (the legend they call Cap) went out of their way to call around to multiple yards and find the exact same rim as the others and were able to get me a great deal on all the repairs. Honestly I’ve never gotten as good of customer service as I’ve received at this Tuffy. I’d go out the way to go back to them.

I was there doing 100k inspection and maintenance. The tests are thorough and well done. The price of the maintenance was reasonable.

They fixed an exhaust leak and mounted and balanced new tires for me. I also had them do an oil change for me. They were very reasonable and a pleasure to work with.

Kevin and Cap were great. Been around long enough to realize not all shops provide the same level of expertise and customer service. The whole crew was top shelf from start to finish especially with communicating current car issues and future expectations on the timing of completed repairs.

Although I did not end up receiving the repairs needed, just wanted to acknowledge Chad for being a great human being, extremely professional, provided some unabised advices as to what to do until I am able to do the repairs, very honest. Mike who was there before was as great as well.

I actually couldn't have expected anything better than how my experience turned out. Kevin was organized, informative and engaging. While Tommy was both proficient regarding the maintenance performed and efficient in terms of time spent. Once again, it was a fantastic service call and I will be seeing them again in the future.

They did an extremely through inspection of my truck at no charge, and I received a detailed report back. They are fast, efficient, and all around, wonderful to work with. Will not be going anywhere else for service, great experience!

I had my brakes done with them back in 2023. I also had another repair done at the same time which I had to bring back a few days after the repair because it hadn't been fixed properly and I experienced the same issue. Kevin is the best!!!!! I needed a quick fix while I was in town, they took great care of me and I was comfortable driving hours back home. They were very transparent and talked me through everything. Very trustworthy, gave me a great price, and quick turn around!

My front fender liner suddenly tore loose while I was driving in Troy, dragging and scraping loudly. Stranded 1.5 hours from home, I stopped at Tuffy, and the team was incredible. They quickly trimmed the damaged section so I could drive safely back to Lansing. When I tried to pay, they refused, saying helping was enough. I was so impressed and I’ll do a full repair at Tuffy in Lansing coming week. Trustworthy, kind, and professional. Tuffy is simply the best. Highly recommend!

Called them to get my tire fixed since I had a nail in it. They had a full schedule but said to bring in my car and would work me in. Literally had this fixed in 20 minutes, before the guys had a big job to get started on. VERY appreciative to fit me and fix it so efficiently. Had been here in the past and always a good experience. I’ve been a long-time customer, but ever since the family owner sold to a corporate store, it’s just not the same. I had the worst customer service here. We called on Friday to schedule an appointment for an oil change and brake service, and were given a Tuesday slot. We dropped the car off Monday evening. By Tuesday at 5 p.m., when we called to check if it was ready, we were told the car hadn’t even been looked at. What followed was a string of changing excuses, and I was told I’d be contacted by the manager who had scheduled the appointment. When he finally called, instead of apologizing, he yelled at me because I was upset that my car had been sitting there untouched for 24 hours. Completely unacceptable. In the end, the work took two full business days — for an oil change. And while we originally thought brakes were needed, it turned out to be tires instead. I’m giving two stars only because I do believe the work itself was done correctly. But the lies, the lack of communication, and being yelled at by a manager were too much. This was my last time doing business here.

I’m new to the area from out of state and my local mechanic back home recommended Tuffy Troy specifically, so I visited them when my check engine light came on. They got me in same day, provided me with a thorough inspection, took care of the engine light issue and communicated with me clearly throughout the entire process. Mike and Kevin were so kind and knowledgeable, updated me on my vehicle often and made me feel welcome while I lurked around their waiting area all afternoon. Their thorough inspection was typed up and photographed and shared with me digitally as well, which I appreciated so I could reference it later and share with others. I would both recommend their services and use them again in the future!

Had a marvelous experience with Kevin and Tom!! They were absolute professionals and took great care of me and my vehicle. They took every opportunity to help correct the problem the moment I arrived but when it became evident that the issue was far more serious (snapped idler pulley) they explained everything in detail and even used illustrations to make sure I completely understood the issue. They then performed and entire vehicle safety check and then updated me on other optional repairs. I will return to them as soon as possible for my next repair! Thanks for an amazing experience especially when the issue with my car was so sudden and unexpected.

Needed a brake job done fast, they gave me a total and it was very high but because I needed it done, I paid it. Picked the car up Saturday night, got on the road, and within a mile *my rotor broke and my brakes partially failed.* Drove back going 15mph. Later learned the rotor separated (they said they had never seen it do that before) and they claimed to me they test drove the car. If there were more cars on the road I would've hit someone in front of me. Because of this, I missed a 4-day trip to Chicago (had booked an Airbnb.) I asked if they'd be willing to refund anything from my missed nights and they refused. They did a repair for a new rotor, but said it was on the manufacturer to refund me for my trip. I get it - it technically isn't their fault, but I wanted them to actually advocate for me and "do the right thing". I lost a few hundred dollars on my Chicago trip and overpaid for my brake / rotor job. They said they'd tell the manufacturer about my losses to see if they'd be able to reimburse me from them, and I wouldn't have left this review had they shown me the email or if they ever got a response, but I've heard nothing for about 3 weeks so here it is. On the phone one of the owners was very stern after I asked for a refund. Never going back there.

Tires is worse than when i brought it to them yesterday. Brand new tire had a nail in a salvageable part. tire held air after filling up to get there and looked good and then two hours later after leaving with a “patch” it was completely flat

I’ve been coming here for over 7 years. John is the best. It is a family owned business and they take such good care of me and my vehicle. They have coloring booking and crayons for kids, as well as a multitude of snacks. They get you in and out and their service is unbeatable. If you need a ride, they will provide you one and get you where you need to go, while your vehicle is being serviced. Very reliable and affordable. A+ customer service.
