Dropped off a large donation of food after I called to see what time would be best for them. Arrived when I was told to and was told it wasn't a good day for donations. They took the donations but were rude and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. I called the next day and told the office manager and she made an excuse saying the person was probably having a bad day. If you want people to donate and help you should try being nicer.
I used them few times it’s great to have a local place like this so you don’t have to suffer on the days when you have food shortage. The great part is they give good, variety of food not inedible cans over and over which is amazing especially with having kids! I took a star off because some of the the staff is rude and do favouritism. For example an older white lady which I encountered before ! she was laughing and joking for over 5 minutes with the white gentleman in front of me . Loading his trunk carefully with extras too complementing his BRAND NEW truck & when it come my turn a momma of 3 in true need she threw me a box & was like okay bye that’s it. Okay bye ma’am ! lol but some of the staff is really sweet too! Like the white gentleman Gid bless him who ushers the line he told me to check my tires and drive safe in the snow and he was right one of my tires was low. And the African American lady that signs you up she a sweetie and so helpful .
Woulda been 0 stars if could've! All these types places discriminate against us ppl need and pawn us on2 other no that can't/won't help either! Only thing this place helps w is food! Yet u get big chunk $ from federal govt and what hell u do w that! So tired these places wasting my time when they could help, but all seem refuse! Will never donate anything sa again, and believe me I've donated 10s thousand dollars worth clothes, etc... over 40 years!
During the most stressful challenging time in my life ( 70 yo disabled Sr ) Amber Brumister , with the patience of a saint assisted me with utility bills, doing the computer paperwork , interacting with Ms Brown DHHS on my behalf reassuring me that everything was going to be OK ! when I would call her overwhelmed and in a panic. she was always there to reassure me. Thank God for angels like her
This is the sweetest, warmest place to go if you want help, they aren't mean or act funny like the money is coming out each individuals pocket that works there.
Salvation army on shiawassee and Inkster road is awesome. They do what every church or outreach should to do in a community. They help with everything within their power. Never ending food distributions Bible study church services senior meals Filipino meals children's day camp breakfast every Sunday morning help with utilities diapers and the list goes on and on thank God for salvation army You guys are heaven sent.
These people are awesome they get a big thumbs-up and all the work they do in the community and for the people from church services to giving out free groceries every week 2 having day camp for the children playing games and giving out bicycles and lunch. Senior bingo and prizes and dinners for the seniors Filipino dinners for the Filipino community, salvation army you have been placed on the caught doing good list thumbs up.
This little church has some of most uplifting services around. The Bible dictates all teachings. The messages are very simple. If you want to hear the Lord's Word, please go to this House of God. You will not be sorry.
The message gave hope to a bad world. The invitation to to join with Jesus was made to all. All are welcome to come and be a part of this wonderful experience.
Very nice open family atmosphere. The Sunday service is excellent. God touch’s all of us in different ways. This church teachs Truth and Love. You want to feel uplifted by The Lords Word? Then this where you need to be. Highly Recommend!!!
Our family gathering meets at the Salvation Army to fellowship with each other. We appreciate having this location whether north south east or west we can get there. Thank you for allowing our family-friendly meet and greet to keep our family gathering intouch. We are blessed to come there. We will be back again.
I feel these people have gone above and beyond to help me and my family. I am truly thankful for not only their financial support but the love & dedication they have....it goes beyond saying...thank you for blessing my family!
My child discovered this place through a friend after school on Wednesday he goes there an has free gym time and prayer. Then eats dinner. And is picked up by 7:00. He has now joined there basketball team for.6/8graders, and loves it.
They are lucky I'm giving them 3 stars. I used to really like this place, but I am never going back there again for food. They have some people there who are very rude and bossy and seem to enjoy degrading the people who need to come there for food. Some of them are also very rude to you on the phone. I don't know where their attitude comes from, but I want nothing more to do with this place.
I grewup in this church and came almost every wknd with my grandma and aunt and my aunt actually used to work with them. This is a very nice church. Not over the top. Everyone is super nice and they have meet and greets before service and during. They truly make you feel right at home. Havent been back in about ten to fifteen yrs due to moving further east but im back in the area now and will be taking my daughter there from now on when we can make it. If your looking for a relaxed atmosphere with tons of outgoing friendly smiling faces this is it!!!
Very friendly lady I spoke with. And they helped me with getting my prescriptions filled with out having to do all that running around from service to service (EMAA and like) . Thank you.
