Wonderful place to camp great view from the campsites all the way down to the dam. Nice beach with a water slide playground equipment and handicap 4 wheel floating device. Ways to station was always clean and make sure you follow the 5 mi an hour rule. I made the mistake of going a little too fast and they let me know about it so you can rest assured that safety is well kept at this campground as well
It’s a nice place to stay. 3 stars because the bathrooms haven’t been updated since jimmy carter was president. The WiFi sucks it is only available in part of the park. The views are amazing and the staff were friendly.
People that work here are weird as hell. It’s like they were watching us, and everything we did. Not worth the money to be monitored the entire time. BOOOO?? literally pulled out a tape measure and said we were 5 inches to close to something..
If I could leave a thousand 1 star reviews I would. People driving around asked us to WHISPER at 11:45 pm. I’ll keep updating yall as the weekend goes on..
Worst campground I’ve ever been to! I have camped all over the country and have never met a management team that was so disrespectful and just down right awful to the people camping. I was cautious when the campground was half full on a holiday weekend. I now know why. If you are coming to boat Hardy dam and want a nice fun relaxing time with your family do not come to Oxbow.
Nice park. Good access to hardy pond. Sites are a bit small. Looks like the seasonal have all the best spots. Bathrooms are clean. Some of the seasonal campers areas are a bit junky.
I have camped at this location in the late season, cool weather for over 30 years. Amazing scenery, good fishing, nice boat ramp, cabins are very nice.
No bedding no ac and must get 2 nights to reserve is only downside. If those are musts than this is a great cheap place to rent while fishing hardy dam. Lots of parking for big boats
We had our food trailer there for a day 6/14 and we met some awesome people and the park made us feel so welcome.. can't wait til we can go back again! Thank you all Oxbow Park staff and campers!
Called 10+ times to listed number on listed hours couldn’t get thru to them made Facebook post finally got a call back to cancel weekend wanted to charge more to move my reservation to different weekend and have less days then had attitude when said to cancel rest of my planned trips there this year
Super cute campground! Will definitely be back. Couple inconveniences are the main garbages aren't close to a lot of the sites and there's only one dump station. The camp host was phenomenal!!
Seasonal have it made, the others get kinda crapy sites. Wish they had pictures of what the sites looked like before we booked our site, too many trees it was almost impossible to get into the site. However, we made it work. Nice campground otherwise, staff were friendly and had no issues. Definitely a party place but didn't bother us, I could see if people like quiet, they wouldn't like it here. What did bother us was the lamp post shining all night long, so bright. Thank goodness for blackout shades. Dump station is backwards, good luck trying to dump, we ended leaving and paying elsewhere to dump. I'd go again but only if we could get near the water sites or if they ever offer full hookups in the future. Did not do the beach here, were drove an hour away to do Lake Michigan at Muskegon Beach for a day.
Beautiful Pet friendly campground! Lake access! Cabins are clean, with Electric and perfect for a getaway! Bath house and Bathrooms are well kept. Staff is friendly and accommodating! Enjoyed our stay from Start to Finish! Highly recommend!

The last 5 years we've stayed in cabins . This is by far worst year we've ever had we were singled from start , we were told within first few days we were under investigation we had trash can by us and campers filled it and they came and removed and the guy said your under investigation now ? then they tried whole Summer telling us to leave lied about camp being full told we had to leave for damnation weekend cuz it was no place for kids. I'm not saying we were perfect we have kids n were staying whole summer but they are the sweetest kids just alittle hyper they singled us out made us feel like we we didn't belong there and made are Sumner so damn horrible by way we were treated . Then today they told us we had to leave n locked are card out they were so damn rude all summer . We had a horrible lady yell at us about our autistic baby after we warned her about him sometimes tripping out at nite she run to office everyone complaining about something and we weren't partyers or trouble even after all the crap we took all Summer the host told us we were some of the best campers there and Least amount of trouble. Then today they kicked us out and told us we wasnt allow here anymore ,I'm beyond hurt my whole family was coming up this weekend and renting the cabins .I just don't understand why we were treated so bad I've loved this campground my whole life tell everyone about it and how great it is . I'm so lost right now and so hurt. They've even told other campers not to play with our kids.
Definitely one if the best kept secret spots in Newaygo! We love camping here and have family that are seasonal site campers. Bathrooms are numerous, clean and well maintained. The swim area is the perfect size for little kids and big kids alike. Our kids especially enjoyed the new fishing pier this year. We will be back!
Our first time in this park. We've stayed in private parks, state parks and county parks and this is one of the best we've been to. The staff goes above and beyond, very friendly and helpful. This was planned but because of events we didn't organize as well as normal so we left a few things behind. The camp store and the host took care of us. Beautiful location on the water and lots of things for our grandkids to do. We will be coming back next summer.
What a Great place to Party! If you're looking for a quiet place to hang out with your family... Forget it! Loud boats, loud music, loud hillbilly trailer trash park campers getting Jiggy in the showers. Oh and the sweet smell of the devil's lettuce flowing through the campground 24/7. Pet friendly? Heck yeah, musta been a least 65 barking dogs too! Curfew? What curfew Party like it's 1999 ALL NIGHT!!!Can't wait to Not go back!
Would have given 1 star, but gave it 2 since it is next to the Dragon and has warm showers. This is the perfect campground if you like small sites, lots of dogs barking all night, the constant smell of pot, loud trucks, or loud music late into the night. Clearly there is zero enforcement of quiet hours or just simple neighborly courtesy. Pay the extra money and pick another campground!

Clean bathrooms, nice beach area. Lots of activities, planned and unplanned, such as movie night, games, hiking, biking kayaking and relaxing. Unfortunately the relaxing times where interrupted buy the staff and seasonal people mowing. Friday evening, Sunday morning during our most recent stay. It was very bothersome, very loud and intrusive. It was right on top of our camp sight.
Camped here to ride the dragon MTB trail. The campground has an awesome location right off the trial. There are many docks available and a nice beach for water activities. I recommend based on the location alone. My downgrade of the rating is due to 2 main issues. The campgrounds are very small. You are lucky to fit 2 cars on some of the sites so you need to choose wisely. Next issue is that there are super power led lights throughout the camp that come on at night. They are so bright I thought Beetleguse went supernova whan I was camping seriously the lights were bright enough that it will keep you awake when tent camping. If you have an RV it will not be so noticeable.
Oxbow park has been a pleasant place to camp. There's a lot of places to walk the dog. Each site has a picnic table and burning pit. There's bathrooms and showers on site. The end of the year party is quite a party. Very laid back place.
I love this place, grew up in the area and visited my grandparents at this park in the summer. Recently brought my bride to see where I'm from and stories from my upbringing this park played a major role in that past.
Found this place called OXBOW CAMPGROUND in COLUMBIAVILLE on @googlemaps looking for a weekend getaway that was still close to home and knew this was the place to be so I pulled up expeditiously! You hike 1.5 miles into this low key bugout spot that some of the people in town don’t even know about. The scenery is amazing and the ZEN I felt standing along the riverbank just listening to the water flow is something I won’t forget. The only reason I bring my firearm is for animals that are larger than I and possible crazy folks that I may encounter on my path to seek enlightenment. Plus… THIS IS PURE MICHIGAN it’s LEGAL.
So this is how it goes… you park in a turnaround spot get out and mount up to go directly into the forest. It’s a trek thru the woods but leisurely and depending on your conditioning it’ll take you 1-2 trips based on what you need to bring to set up camp. It’s been raining for days all over the state so I brung firewood which forced me to make the extra trip after setting up base camp.
If you are looking to obtain a weekend of PEACE where most certainly nobody will be this is the spot for YOU and we can make that happen on “ADVENTURES with HAYES!”
This is a great place to stay. If you like living off the grid you will enjoy having very minimal cell phone reception, plus they have camping spots with no electricity available. There is a swimming hole and a couple of playgrounds for kids and they even have a boat launch and docks. The bathrooms and showers are decent facilities and there's a gas station just a mile away in case you need anything.
It's a great place, family atmosphere, security could lighten up a bit, a little to tight. Great play area for the kids. Great beach for kids. Bathrooms are clean, very nice launch
This campground is right on the water with a swim area and playground. Showers and bathrooms are dated but kept clean by the staff. It has a boat launch and docks available. Check-in was easy. Katie, in the office, is knowledgeable and offered friendly service. Some, not all, campsites are small so be sure to ask if your camper will fit in the site you reserve. It offers two cabins for rent and lots of sites for tents (no water or electric). It's a family friendly campground with hiking/biking trails are nearby.
