Chris has done cylinder heads for me and has always achieved national record holding quality with excellent service. There are a lot of older cylinder head porters that are not taking on new work and Chris being newer in the industry and eager to make horsepower for his customers, is a choice you should certainly consider. I have known the family for over 40 years and they have always been extremely dedicated to stock and super stock racing.
RET was great to work with. I had cylinder heads resurfaced and Chris was very communicative through the process. I first dropped off a set of heads but then Chris reached out half way through the process letting me know the heads were too far warped for repair, giving tolerance details, saving me from using the heads creating more problems down the road. I grabbed another set of heads from a junkyard and sent them over to RET, they were able to get the job done with the “new” set of heads quickly and did a phenomenal job, they look near brand new at a very fair price. Overall great experience and would recommend.
My son recommended Chris to rebuild my 1.8L MGB engine. I feared we might get laughed at. But Chris had ideas: slight CR bump, custom lightened valve train, race cam, RET flow bench magic, the right carb and Holy Cow! A factory 90 hp, 2,000 lbs MGB requires the brake pedal or very hard cornering to squeal the tires. Not anymore! Coming up to highway speed during carburetor tuning and testing I was very surprised at a 3rd gear tire 'bark'. With a powerband reaching 7500 rpm, every gear has a whole new top end. Still running rich so I think there is more to be had. I’m looking for some slalom racing and track days to discover exactly what I’ve got. Monocoque body feels like it might need sub frame connectors. Thanks Chris!

I had Chris recondition my AFR small block Chevy heads. He did a beautiful job at a fair price. Quick service and excellent communication. Outstanding attention to detail. Chris took the time to make sure that my valve springs had enough pressure for the hydraulic roller cam I am using. I’m glad he did because they did require some added pressure / shims. Kris is also extremely generous with his sharing his vast knowledge.
Chris at RET is ALWAYS there to answer any questions. He actually answers the phone...which is rare today. The work RET did for us put us in a position where we can finally be competitive. Chris is very knowledgeable and helped us with all facets of our racecar. We will be going back and using RET to improve our performance even more.

I have had such amazing results from Chris at RET. I own a classic car restoration business and have dealt with a lot of engine rebuild shops, large and small, along western Michigan from top to bottom with less than satisfactory results if not full on disaster’s. Problems with everything from cracked cylinder heads to leaky seals or cheap parts. Seams that it was ALWAYS something!! I got to the point where I just expected something to happen after first starting. My customers where as frustrated as I was to say the least and in the end, cost me time and money.

Had Chris do a "freshen up" of my LS3 CT-525 after breaking a valve spring. The motor went from being an "all or nothing" setup with the throttle to having acceleration and torque thru the whole RPM band without having to bolt on any more expensive stuff that will just break the motor faster.
The work Chris does at at RET is phenomenal. Horsepower increase is just what he says. Very timely on getting the work done. I will continue to use his services on my circle track motors and hot rod projects.
I took a chevy 350 engine to Chris at RET racing that was in bad shape they rebuilt it above expectations. Great communication let me know where he was during the build the whole time. Highly recommend RET to rebuild your engine.
Had a head gasket failure on my 1984 nissan 300zx turbo and ended up taking my cylinder heads out to Chris with RET and had him go through and do what he does and ended up with much more air flow and bigger cams he had custom made and was able to match the bigger cams with new springs with installation. There is definitely a big power difference from a idle to full throttle. I'm very happy with the work and service Chris has provided and look forward to any future builds he can make better.

Unfortunately my previous cylinder head guy passed away (Jerry Arnold). I contacted Jerry’s son and he pointed straight to Chris Hardy. Who studied under Jerry prior to opening RET. I have had several discussions with Chris about my 385 SBC and the improvements that have been made since it was built. In those conversations, I learned that Chris’s skills are not only automotive but also bike related. Long story short, my 2018 KTM 450 was due for routine service at 45 hours. Chris worked his magic, the motor was reassembled, it makes unbelievable power right where I need it and where Chris said it would be.
Will be building a new SBC and an LS, my money will be spent at RET with Chris Hardy.
Chris will also be working his magic on my new bike 2022 KTM 250 SXF full race build.
