They diagnosed the issues with my car quickly and got my car repaired in just a couple of hours for a reasonable price. I got my 02 sensor replaced as well as a new battery. It's such a relief to no longer see the check engine light on my dash. Oh, and they also gave me a free coffee mug!
they smoked cigarette in my car, ashes were on the door handle (they denied it and said nobody smoked) and left coolant cap opened and i found it in the hood (spent more than $1k) in this shop. still not sure if they have completed the work they charged me for.
Update 2025: my review still stands. I've taken a few cars to them and they are by far the most honest mechanic shop I've ever dealt with. Their prices are also very fair.

The grey beard, I believe it’s the owner, went above and beyond to help me. My brat dog got out and was running around near the shop. Ran across Van Dyke even! He tried to get her into his truck, walked around and tried to get her to come to him. She certainly wants coming to me! lol. He finally caught her !!! For him to take his time and work so hard to help me and get my stupid dog to safety was awesome. I’ll be there next week for my brakes!!!
They are very honest and skilled technicians. I have an antique car (1978 cadillac) and they always fix it if/when there are issues. I would highly recommend them.
Bill and his team were fast and professional in getting my car maintenanced. Had a failing emissions senser in my car and Bill called the local deal to confirm the part was under warrenty. Overall had a great experience and looking to do business with them again.
Greg is terrific. They have fixed my children’s cars twice and now fixed mine. This is my third visit and it’s always professional, honest and reasonable prices for professional work. Never had any issues with their work. Never had to bring a car back. I would recommend them to family and friends.

I've taken my 67 Mercury Cougar here twice due to it not starting. They've gotten it running and driving after 2 days both times. Very efficient and priced very well. Highly recommend bringing your vehicles here.
Al, Tech here diagnosed my problem --- water in the gas tank AND physically showed me approximately 16 oz. he separated from my fuel cell. Experience counts and I trust this facility with my Towncar and Impala SS. Great job!
I had to take my old 2006 Chevy impala in for a transmission rebuild among with some other maintenance. These guys had my car finished just 2 days later. They are fast and efficient. I highly recommend Independence Auto for all of your vehicle needs
I can't say enough good things about this place. The owner Bill is so knowledgeable and personable. I came for what another shop told me was probably a transmission leak and needing struts all the way around to find it was a valve cover gasket and a bad tie rod. They fixed 5 different problems on my old car that day for under $500 where the other shop wanted $1300 just to do the struts that I really didn't need... He offered and provided me a ride home and back, had everything done the same day. I can see now why so many people say this is their new go-to place in their reviews. I am definitely bringing my vehicles back here whenever I need something fixed. Bill and his mechanics are awesome!!! Also want to add a shout out to Gregg, the front man at the counter who knows me by name at this point and is so friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't be more thrilled with this place thanks to all of you!
This is a long time coming, I was looking for a new shop since my mechanic retired. He suggested this shop and said the guys here are awesome and will take care of you. I showed up and instantly felt like this is the place to go. Car repairs can be daunting and stressful, but knowing you're taken care of and given a detailed list of what needs to be fixed and what you can wait to repair is comforting. I drive a ton for work, so knowing hey I can wait on this repair until I get some time off and my car is still safe to drive is so refreshing. The guys here are A+ This is my go to shop for me, my friends and my family. Wish I could give 6 stars!

Car died on my way to work, had zero clue what was wrong was told the alternator. Got it towed to independence on suggestion of the tow driver and they had it diagnosed fixed and all set before my next shift. Went in and the guy at the front was very polite, and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. But from when I approved the repair to me picking up the car it was less than a day and will definitely be coming back in the future.
Was very helpful over the phone and allowed me to tow my car there. I’ve called countless mechanics nearby and none of them serviced same day but independence auto repair did. Quickly diagnosed my car and quickly repaired it in a small window of time. Definitely recommend this wonderful company!
Took my car to indenpedance auto for a check engine light and they diagnosed the problem and fix it in a timely manner. Greg was very professional, knowledgeable and does quality work. Definitely will be taking my car there for any service.

They get the job done in a timely manner, most times the day of, which is convenient for working people. We stopped in for a quote for some exhaust work that was needed on our teen's vehicle shortly before closing, on the referral by a friend. Not only were they able to take care of us, the vehicle was ready the next morning. Close to home, fair prices and excellent service with a great warranty. Thanks for helping us out so quickly. We took our SUV into the dealership for recalls and they told us a whole list of things we needed to have done. The dealership said we needed a new battery, back tires replaced, all new brakes and back rotors. We decided to shop around and was recommended to Independence. They serviced the battery, all new tires, all new brakes and rotors, and new wipers for cheaper than the dealership! They are very professional, respectful and helpful! Highly recommend!
I kept hearing a rattle type noise upon acceleration. I brought my 07 chevy impala in fo an oil change and asked them to please take it for a drive and see if they can figure it out. My rear tire needed air as well so I asked for them to take care of that as well. The rattle ended up being a simple fix and a part needed to be tightened. They could have told me it was anything else wrong with it like some places do, but they were honest about it being a simple fix and took care of it. They plugged my tire and mistakenly forgot to charge me. When I brought it to the managers attention. He said don't worry about it. Onanother occasion I was there and actually it was my first time. I was watching how the owner Bill was treating his customers while I was waiting on my vehicle. One of his the patrons tried to tip Bill as he was pleased with his service .Bills response was "thank you very much but no thank you. I do well in my business. I appreciate it but no thank you. I was impressed. If you are looking for an honest reputable establishment, look no further Independence Auto will get the job done
This is by far the best car repair experience that I have ever had in my life. The Owner Bill and his daughter they run this fine establishment Bill was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire process! They will not try to sell you unnecessary services that you do not need, but are straight forward about problems that need to be fixed. They were very speedy with my repair and got me in and out in just a couple of hours. I plan on exclusively going to this repair shop moving forward and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality, efficient service!
Great guys and a great shop. They were very accommodating in looking at my vehicle the few times I've been over there. Went in for an alignment, and they were able to accommodate my car even though it had been significantly lowered. They were very careful getting it onto the lift.
They were very thorough in the diagnosis for some noise i was having. I was able to see exactly what they were talking about and they showed me where it was coming from.
I normally like to do my own repairs, but for jobs i can't do myself or if i can't afford the downtime on my car, i'd definitely return here.
