This is one of the best public car auctions in Michigan by far. Very good pricing on a lot of good cars. Saturdays are always fun and joyful to attend. Each auction day has really great atmosphere. It’s worth it to mention all of the staff working there because they truly make the whole process of buying a car there very easy. They are always friendly and have great attitude, they’re always willing to help and answer any questions!
I had an excellent experience with this auction company. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Everything was well-organized, from browsing items to final payment. I appreciated how transparent and fair the process was. I’ll definitely be returning for future auctions!

Mixed reviews because I bought a car here before. Just off the lot no auction and it was a great experience. I went for the regular auction recently and I felt like it was unfair the auctioneer knew a lot of the dealer bidders and swayed more their way. The only way this would be fair to me is if they have public auctions with no dealers. There’s no point in trying to bid when the dealers can outbid regular people trying to find a vehicle versus their 20th car they can fix up and sell. Probably won’t return for the auction but maybe buy off the lot again instead.

Without any research, without even looking at all of the pictures, sight unseen, no inspection of my own, I bought a car from Motor City Auto Auction and I could not be happier with the results of having (kinda impulsively and very irresponsibly) blindly trusted people I had no reason to trust...who turned out to be honest and good people who run a reputable and responsible company that I am glad to recommend to others.
I adore the car, it is in better condition than I could have imagined possible, my mechanic said that if he didn't know the mileage on it he would have never guessed it correctly. It is a milestone in putting my life back together and the help Motor City offered me towards that end will always be remembered fondly.
I am in a uniquely difficult position when it comes to obtaining credit and moving money due to poor life choices a few years ago that led to financial services companies being understandably hesitant to work with me. When I found the car I wanted, I explained my situation to the young lady who answered my email and she helped me, demonstrating endless patience and understanding for my plight and never once growing exasperated with my entirely tech-unsavvy way.

I needed a vehicle, & I found one that matched my criteria via CarGurus.com, & that car was at Motor City Auto Auction. My experience with MCAA was positive. Every contact and communication I had with Stephanie was productive, & Stephanie was courteous & professional. The car was in great condition, it was clean inside and out, with LOW mileage, and it had a decent price. I asked if there was any wiggle room on that price, & Stephanie contacted the seller, who agreed to knock off an additional $500.00! Once my mobile mechanic did a thorough pre-purchase inspection on the vehicle I was interested in, I decided to proceed with the purchase. The purchase process was smooth, & every interaction I had with the staff was positive. The vehicle I purchased is running fine. Stephanie encouraged me to consider selling my (now previous) vehicle through their auction. I honestly didn't think anyone would want it because it was old, even though I'd taken care of it, & kept up with the maintenance. Once again, MCAA made this process easy & hassel-free! They gave me an amount I could expect to get for it, & that Saturday, during their public auction, someone made an offer! My previous vehicle sold just a few days after I'd bought my newer vehicle from MCAA. I was very pleased. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the auction fee that they took from the amount of the sale of my previous vehicle. When I asked about the fee, they did explain it to me, I just didn't like that this fee made the amount of the check I'd receive for the sale of my previous vehicle less than I was expecting. Other than that, my experience with Motor City Auto Auction was positive, & I would recommend them to anyone in the Metro Detroit area.

Place is a joke. I saw a suv online for 24,900, and I only got approved for 22k and was going to put down 1000 cash, and they won't even return my calls to even say they would take it or not. Once u ask for lower, they want nothing to do with you. I asked for them to drop it 1900 bucks because that's all I had, and they were already 5600 OVER priced!!! Greedy ppl and VERY rude!! One lady I talked to sounded like I was more of a bother just trying to inquire about the vehicle. Then she doesn't even call back or NOTHING, then I called back and she says I'll call him right now and call u right back and never hear back. Very unprofessional, and I will take my money elsewhere. And after reading the reviews, im glad I did. I loved the look of the truck, but if they won't even let u test drive it on the roads, that should be the biggest red flag of them all!!! Don't even waste tour time. Kinda funny how they contact you after u leave a review. Very quick to reply back lol
They made my purchase super easy! Everyone was super nice and helpful! It was a pleasure dealing with them! I highly recommend buying or selling a vehicle with them! From now on, they will be the first place I look for a new car or truck!
I recently purchased a vehicle from Motor City Auto Auctions and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The vehicle I bid on was described as being in "excellent condition," but upon receiving and inspection, it was evident that this was not the case.
Firstly, when I received the car and performed an initial test drive, I noticed issues with the engine that were not apparent from the description provided. Within driving a 1/4 mile the vehicle started smoking profusely from the engine bay. Upon inspection, it was discovered that there were vacuum lines that were not connected as well as oil lines. This caused oil to spray all over the engine and smoke.
Furthermore, the he AC was not working even though it was listed as working. There was a leak and it needed to be converted/charged at my expense.
These imperfections were not minor and clearly affected the overall appearance and value of the vehicle. I contacted Frank at Motor City Auto Auctions and explained what I discovered. After taking the car to a mechanic for safety inspection and repair, I reported back to Frank but he has not responded.
Overall, I felt misled by the description provided by Motor City Auto Auctions. The discrepancies between the listing and the actual condition of the vehicle were significant and greatly impacted my decision to bid. I would caution potential buyers to thoroughly inspect any vehicle from this auction house before placing bids, as the descriptions may not accurately reflect the true condition of the cars.
This auction is a scam. They dont let you turn the car on and inspect it before bidding on it. They only start the car during bidding for 2 minutes. I got scammed on what it looked like a good car after bidding on it and driving it home 3 miles down it overheated, and it leaked all coolant down. water pump was out on it . Literally scammed could have been avoided if the car had been running for about 5 to 10 minutes. Cost 1200 to fix water pump and timing chain ford explorer 2017. Avoid this place.

Homie environment you literally don’t feel that you left your home on a Saturday morning! Great place to find cheap cars! Babies and pets always behind the cashier window perfect indication of a family running business, and that’s what I love about this place!.
MCAA gets 4 stars, Stephanie and the rest of the sales staff get 5. What an experience. Awesome cars, awesome prices. I got a 2000 Tahoe with 60k miles, 1 owner, clean carfax. I paid far over KBB but that is to be expected, I am totally fine with it. Stephanie said the truck was clean, I got there to inspect and it sure was. It does need a fuel pump, but all cars are as-is. Interior like new on a 23 year old truck. Underbody in acceptable shape and overall great condition considering its age. This seems like one of those sellers that thrives on volume, not individual sales. To that aim, buying a vehicle without being able to drive it is nerve-racking. That's where MCAA lost the star. Other than that. I'm gonna be back. They've got it all, sleds, bikes, hotrods... Gotta see it to believe it.
Delivered vehicles at this location on multiple occasion ..I get treated with respect and a eager to help staff. I’m just a driver I can’t imagine they would treat their walk in customers any different.🙂🙂
Good and friendly staff especially general Mr. Snyder. It is a good place to sale your car in auction and also buying car with very price. For sure, i will use it in the future and I also recommend it to others.
