There have been ups and downs with the new move but they will work to correct the issue and hopefully things will smooth out. Their new facility is very nice. Edited to add that things have not smoothed out and since they have moved farther away their delivery charge is more. I had to wait weeks and weeks for my mower that was sitting outside in the weather. Can no longer recommend.

I had a one year old John Deere lawn tractor that needed repair (I had hit something on what was likely my last cut of the season), as well as an Ego battery powered lawn mower that the self propel module needed replacement and had asked my neighbor for a recommendation to a business who could take of both items. I’m fairly new to the area and I’ve learned to trust my neighbor’s judgment when it comes to his referrals. He referred me to Midwest Power Equipment for the repair of my lawn equipment. On 11/11/25, shortly after noon, I placed a call to Midwest Power Equipment on Saginaw Hwy in Haslett. I spoke to a nice gentleman in the service dept who assured me they DID do that kind of work and yes, they could pick up and deliver both items. He transferred me “to the girls up front to get me on the schedule” only to come back on the line a minute later to tell me there were a couple calls ahead of me, he would take my name and number, give it to them and have them call me back shortly. Two hours later, I had not been called, so I called back. I got the same fellow in the service dept who told me he DID give my number to Kim but “she’s all alone up there today and really busy”. I asked if he thought she would call me back at least that day? He sounded helpless when he answered “I don’t know”. Well, not only did Kim not call back that day, she didn’t call the next day or the day after that. In the meantime, I did a Google search and found another small engine repair company in the area. He returned my call within 10 minutes, picked up my machines two days later, had them repaired the next day and I have them both back in my garage now. It’s been a week and a half and I STILL haven’t had a call back from Kim. I doubt that I will. It wasn’t until AFTER I had this issue that I actually started looking at some of your reviews. It doesn’t look like this was just a ‘one off’ situation. It looks like the past couple years have been a challenge for you. Practices like this won’t put you out of business tomorrow, but they MAY impact your business a few years from now if new customers can’t even get in your door.

Went in for propane, walked out needing to make burnt ends. John, Jim, Derek, the whole crew is a gem for the community.

I hate to say, since they moved to this new location, the service department has been disappointing. We spent a chunk of change for a lawnmower repair that yielded a still not working lawnmower. Friends have had equipment sit in the lot awaiting repairs for months.

Bought my Ferris Zero Turn 4 years ago mainly because they had a pick up and delivery service, which I liked for sure went smoothly then downhill after that When they went to their new location in Lansing @ the ACO store their customer service went downhill you can’t get through on the phone for one. When I tried to make an appointment to have my zero turn serviced and have new blades put on, they told me that T hey have 1200 people in the queue for service and it would be a month or two out to get new blades put on or serve done. The main reason I bought from them is because they have a pick up and delivery service. Now they’re so backed up they don’t have time. Last year they picked it up for service & I had to go pick it up myself, rent a trailer because I couldn’t get it re-delivered for 2 weeks! Can you imagine not cutting your lawn in Michigan for two weeks! So 2wks ago I drove into Lansing 40 minute drive just to order new blades , since after two days, no one was answering the phone calls or calling you back. I told the desk I needed mulch kit blades cost me $75. They came in three days later. The gentleman called to tell me they were in. I asked him what the cost is. He told me he didn’t know. He was just told to call that they were in and he was very rude. I called back and complained, especially after he hung up I worked at a hospital for 40 years. You never do that to a customer. You always say I will find out no matter what the cost I picked them up after another 40 minute drive back-and-forth I had to find a local guy (who was great ) who was out within five days: did the complete oil change and put on the new blades. When he took off the old blade, he said these are not mulch kit blades. These are something different I took a short video of the two blades side-by-side and him, stating in the background that they were not mulch kit blades after I spent extra money to have Midwest put on a mulch kit and when I called Midwest to complain A female that answered the phone said that those are called “lift blades” that were on the mower from 2023 & 2024 (which I don’t know what she’s talking about a lift blades). She said that I TOLD THEM to put on lift blades. Now why would I tell them something? I don’t even know what it is. I told her I wanted a refund on the blades. She said the supervisor wouldn’t approve it because I didn’t call right after the blades were put on now. How am I supposed to know they put on the wrong blade Now those blades probably only cost $50 in 2023 & 2024 and after spending all that money at Midwest and them agreeing that they put on the wrong blade and not reimbursing me $50 which they could’ve done, they lost a good customer and they’re gonna get a super bad review. I will never go back, you would’ve thought that the supervisor would’ve picked up the phone and spoke to me for five minutes that would’ve been better than nothing but he couldn’t even do that PS the gentleman that did the service on my lawnmower told me everybody in the business knows not to go to Midwest because they have the worst customer service that should say something.

There are very few things you can depend on these days, especially customer service. Midwest powersports is an elite level company that has never let me down. I highly recommend this team if you are in any of the markets they service! If getting it right, with no pressure and listening are important to you, this is your place!

I would never use Midwest Power Equipment in East Lansing. We had bought our snowblower there years ago and had a good experience. So when we moved back to Michigan we went there 3-6-2024 and bought a new rototiller. The salesman was great. That same day we signed up to have our riding lawnmower serviced. As of today after checking several times last year we are still waiting on them to call to service it. They lied so many times to us. Now fast forward to this year we needed the tines on a new rototiller replaced since they broke off. I went in person and the repair person ordered new ones and after 4 weeks and leaving an unreturned voicemail we went back out there and surprise surprise nothing was ordered. We had a conversation and the part was ordered. The part came in this week so we took the rototiller to them to repair. They had the part, we saw the part and they checked the rototiller in to be repaired. 2 days later we got a call from the service desk saying that they needed to order the part. We spoke to the same person that had it in her hands and checked it into be repaired. We explained that they had it but she wouldn't take it upon herself to believe us. Finally I went up the chain and yep they had it. So we brought it home today. Now my background is customer service. This company is so messed up and has the poorest customer service that I have encountered in a long time. Midwest Power Equipment wins the prize for crappy poor service. I will never go back there again and I urge anyone else to shop another company.

The service is excellent! We went in to have our chainsaw chain checked and ended up needing a new chain. The service rep took the time to show us the correct way to put the chain on the saw and also provided tips to properly maintain the saw. Very much appreciated!!

Had the exact OEM belt for my Pulan Pro snowblower. Wasn't cheap but fit perfectly and was back in business pronto! Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend

Stopped in yesterday. One person doing stocking, two people behind check out counter, nobody else around! Not interested in selling me a Toro zero turn mower.....?! ? Guess I won't be back. My time is more valuable than that!

My 1 year old mower decided to quit running. John and Taya from their service department made the experience flawless with their knowledge and updates on the process. They had it picked up, repaired and delivered back to my house on schedule. Thank you and will definitely recommend you

Visited here 08-2024 for mower blade sharpening. They did an amazing job and unable to identify those are mine. Perfectly done and painted. $8 for a blade is such a great deal. Definitely I'll visit again for my future needs.

After some miscommunications with my mower Jon the owner personally reached out to me. He handled the whole matter very professionally and went beyond what most owners would do for their customers. He came out to my house took care of the small problem I would definitely recommend and I will personally use this company again. Brad Brown ??

Service took over two months … communication is non existent unless I call them, then I’m treated like I’m the problem. In mid April I was told parts had to be ordered it would be 5-7days, by mid May I’d heard nothing so I called and was told they were waiting for parts. The very next day I was told the parts had just come in … two days later I was told no parts had come in they were waiting for the parts. I asked for a manager and spoke directly with general manager Jerry who said he would handle this personally and get right back to me …. No return call. I call back and get no recognition from Jerry, he won’t take the call. However I was told the parts had just come in I’d have my lawn mower within 24 hours. I’m waiting today for return delivery, they offer a tracking option but once that hits the delivery time the clock keeps increasing by one minute intervals … it’s now an hour later than the original delivery time. I call the customer service number and get the story that they’ve canceled that tracking option now. The driver had been in an accident and all deliveries were enroute … no time frame given. I have yet to receive a call of any sort from this shop. I have spoken with several of my neighbors and heard harrowing tales of late or slow service … How do these people stay in business?? I’ve been holding back on posting this review because I still don’t have my mower, won’t be surprised if it is rescheduled now, but I’ll have to call them to find out!

Shout out to Jerry for being incredible with customer CARE. I’m new to lawn equipment ownership and maintenance and Jerry helped me in the fall and again today. As I prepare to start up my mower after its first winter season, I wanted to make sure I don’t ruin it. Jerry explained in full detail what I would need to do and demonstrate to make sure I understood. It only took a few minutes of his time, but it was exactly what I needed in that moment. Thanks for your patience and explanation! Worth the drive.

Hi, I wanted to thank Donavan for coming out to look at my mower that had in for servicing immediately when I called them with an issue. Donavan came out fix the issue and mowed my lawn last night until 10 o’clock in the dark so that it was all done for me because I had noone to do it. John the owner has always been great to work with and he helped me last night too. The Customer Service is always exceptional and I’m very happy I bought my mower at Midwest Power. Thanks again, Julie

Have been going here for decades. This new location is their 4th move in this area. Business has steadily grown over the yrs. Service & sales have always been excellent. They have now expanded to include a large spacious Ace Hardware franchise. Looked the new location over. They have a very large selection of hardware products. Appear to have also expanded their power equipment offerings. Have bought various power equipment over the yrs. Always recd very good sales & service. It's a very well managed business. Highly recommend them.

This summer they took three months to repair my riding mower. I really think they lost track of the order. Now they have our snowblower.. a belt.. three weeks and holding. Probably very capable repair people but a disastrous front office that can't track orders or communicate with customers.. done with this shop. an update to this review.. i spoke to the owner and think now that my two experiences were just at a bad moment in the history of the business. I'll come back for my next repair and hope that the front office problems are being repaired...

In the middle of getting my snow blower fixed. The prices for starter are inflated, I understand making a profit but for a carburetor for that machine is $10-$20. They are charging $80 which would be 4-8x profit margins. The price is a gouge for sure. But because of my inability to easily move this machine around I went with it currently. This is the part that really gives them a one star. I asked a person about "followup" for whatever reason this is a sin in Michigan. I said when is my blower going to have the part "not sure", okay, I'm going to need a little more than that so I kept pressing. I proceeded to ask, when will you followup "when it's done", no kidding? I wouldn't have guessed that. I said will you followup with an update at any point "we're just not sure when it will be done". it kind of goes on like that. The good news is my snow blower will be done some time in infinity with the promise and guarantee of absolutely no follow up what so ever within that time frame until it's complete. So as the customer I went above and beyond for this business and promised to get back to them every week until something is done, and if it's not done in two weeks I'm just taking my blower back and asking for half the "labor" if you can call it that, back. Since apparently I'm the one currently doing a majority of the work. If they manage to somehow recover from this I'd change my review, but it's unlikely. EDIT: On 01/15/24 spoke with owner or manager, they made an attempt to fix any service issues. However the service issues remained the same. Even after 01/15/24, no phone calls or texts were made as promised. Late afternoon on 01/16/24 I ended up calling them to make payment that way I could have someone help pick the snowblower up for me. I gave reasonable time for the call to take place on when to pick it up, but I think it was inevitably never going to happen. Someone else I know said after using a carburetor 4 times on a blower even with gasoline in the tank, would almost certainly after a little over one year would be very unlikely the carburetors "rusted out". He thinks it's more likely it was a floater. Likely was gouged for 150 in total at this point. On top of no service, it sounds like the team that services potentially lies to replace parts that aren't required, or have no idea what they are doing. I hope neither are the case, but I was skeptical of the carburetor going into this already, so it does make sense that it wasn't the carburetor. The part when he asked to inspect it was already thrown out (convenient). I could care less about the money, but bad business practice or lack of core values I don't tolerate. I wouldn't recommend a place like this, best taking your experience elsewhere.

The new location @ 7410 E Saginaw St, Haslett, MI 48840 is open! I’ve been driving past it for a few months anxiously waiting. Midwest Power + ACE = Convenience Friendly staff were as excited about the place being open as I was, which is refreshing. No more lengthy drive to run a simple hardware store / yard utility errand! They even inquired if there was something I was in need of that they didn’t carry, they would do their best to get it on order. Try getting that at Home Depot or Lowe’s, doubtful.

Jon and all the staff are great to work with. This year I replaced everything in preparation for retirement and I could not be happier with all the new equipment. Jon takes the time to help you select the right gear and to answer all of your questions. Their pricing and service cannot be beat, just call around. The service department did some work on my 20-year old equipment and had it running like new for a very reasonable charge. Jon actually took the time to contact me at the end of the season and ask me how everything was running and if I was happy…that says it all. Midwest Power Equipment has great staff, competitive pricing, and a showroom full of premium gear, what more could you look for in a business. Regards, Dave

The people at Midwest Power Equipment are very helpful and not pushy. I came in last week with my dad to look at chainsaws and we end up purchasing one. The experience was wonderful. The guy we worked with knew alot about chainsaws and took his time to show us the different saws and the benefits of them. I will definitely be coming back again if I need help with anything else. I can't wait for their Ace to open for even more fun things to look at.

I originally gave this company a 2-star rating due to a communications breakdown that left me feeling like the customer service was poor at the business; HOWEVER, I quickly learned that I was mistaken. Just moments after I had posted my frustrations about trying to get pricing on parts for our John Deere mower and not receiving a return call after multiple attempts to reach someone, my phone rang and it was the company owner calling. He wanted to know what I had experienced and without hesitation, he graciously offered to make things right, which was surprisingly beyond my expectations. As I had originally hoped when I first called for service, Midwest Power Equipment is definitely a business I will utilize again and would highly recommend. Customer service means a great deal to me and this company has shown me they truly care about the service they provide. I am grateful.

I recently had a fantastic experience with Jon from Midwest Power Equipment. I own a Husqvarna auto mower that was experiencing some issues while still under warranty. Jon went the extra mile to assist me with diagnosing the problem by thoroughly reviewing the warranty information. Not only did he identify the issue, but he also provided me with a new part to resolve the problem. What truly impressed me was Jon's dedication to customer service. He even went out of his way to follow up with me after hours, ensuring that everything was working perfectly. His commitment and attention to detail were remarkable. I highly recommend Midwest Power Equipment, thanks to Jon's exceptional assistance. If you're in need of top-notch service and support for your power equipment, look no further. Jon and the entire team at Midwest Power Equipment will go above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction.

Purchased a Zero-Turn here today and was beyond pleased with our experience. Both Gerry & Chris were awesome. Answered all of our questions with patience and helped us get the right mower for us! They truly know their stuff. I am confident when we go their for service in the future they will be just as attentive!

LOVE our new Husqvarna Auto Mower "Chopper"! What a difference in the lawn already. From the sales team to the installing team couldn't of asked for a better experience, they had Chopper up and running with in an hour. Thank you MIDWEST POWER we will be back to purchase more equipment for our yard for sure.

Updated 4-4-22. John and his personnel delivers as promised. Mower was serviced, blades sharpened, oild changed and mouse nest removed. Overall satisfied with service. John assured me that the provided feedback was useful and he has implemented some changes that I feel will vastly improve his service department. This is why the review is a 5 star now. Updated. Had a great conversation with John the owner and he appreciated the feedback and was unaware of this. It is now rectified and scheduled for service. Will update further after service. Bought my mower and have tried for two years to get the mower is for spring maintenance and they tell me they will have my mower for 3 to 4 weeks s with no way to mow during that time. Love my mower, but can't get service.

Midwest is absolutely the best from sales to service. My brother had bought a Toro Titan last year and he has been blown away by its performance and quality. So this year I decided to get a bigger and better mower then my old Husqvarna Zero Turn and went with the Toro 2000 series 60" Zero Turn. This was the best decision the power and overall setup on this mower is truly a beast of a mower. Jon is the best to work with as he is just a down to earth great business man. I will definitely trust Midwest for all my other power equipment needs. We need more Small Businesses like this one that truly value there customers and go above and beyond, Keep up the great work!

Friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff. I brought my mower in for repairs. And could clearly see a plethora of alternatives for my mower, both new and used. Glad I came in, because I'll be back!
