I’m writing to share my most recent experience at the Grand Blanc dealership in hopes that it might shed light on some incredibly inefficient processes that seem to have slipped your purview. While I have no intentions of ever returning to Al Serra, I would be remiss if I didn’t at least make an attempt to help the next person avoid some of the headache I’ve endured. I originally drafted something of a timeline to highlight the areas of weakness in a bit more detail, but decided I’ve wasted enough time, so I’ll keep this relatively brief with an easy-on-the-eyes bullet list of suggestions for you: 1. When you contact a customer to inform them that their vehicle is “ready for pickup”, perhaps you might consider having the vehicle “ready for pickup.” I’ve had three instances now where I’ve arrived at the dealership only to be greeted by what reminds me of the confused John Travolta gif of employees asking their colleagues if they’ve seen my keys or my car. I wish I was over-exaggerating. Just know, out of the few visits to your service department, I’ve had more experiences of someone not knowing where my car was than knowing. Each time resulted in an additional 20-30 minute wait (once they realized where my car was, of course). 2. When you inform a customer that a repair is estimated to be short enough that they’re invited to wait in the waiting room, perhaps you might show a little consideration for that customer’s time. I suppose it’s fortunate that I had the experience of having to wait for my car so many times, that I knew better than to trust what you consider to be a ‘quick’ repair. It’s simple mathematics, really. If a car pickup takes 30 minutes, a 'quick repair' is undoubtedly between six and seven times as long, based on your scale. It ended up over three hours and I can assure you, I don’t have three hours to sit in your waiting room. 3. The next time the higher ups are gathered around the table, discussing ways to cut costs and increase profits, consider the exorbitant amount of time that must be spent aimlessly disassembling and assembling vehicles for absolutely nothing. After a month of waiting on a part to be delivered, I took my car in for an 8:30 am appointment (the one I was told would be done quickly enough that I could wait in the waiting area). Three hours later (11:30am) I was informed that you had the wrong part. Three hours. Your auto body tech had apparently disassembled my door before realizing the error. I know this because I had to wait for my vehicle to be reassembled before picking it up. Thank goodness we’re not talking surgery. Ultimately, I’ll be taking my vehicle to another dealership. The lady who contacted me to apologize and try to make things right was lovely (the extra star is for her and the polite demeanor of the staff), but she was a little too late. By that time, I’d had too many instances where I felt like I was stuck in a meeting that could’ve been an email - nothing gained except new ways to waste time. But at the very least, I hope my fruitless experiences might result in someone else’s seamless repair.

I got prompt service and updates to vehicle as it moved through each individual repair stage. And my car returned to me in better shape than initial purchase. I am thankful fir all Serra body shop and service team

We had an excellent experience with Chris Bonner (Sales) from beginning to end. He was professional, attentive, and demonstrated a genuine servant’s heart throughout the process. He took the time to understand our needs, communicated clearly, and ensured our experience was handled with care and integrity. We noticed a chip in the windshield during a test drive; the dealership addressed it promptly and repaired it at no charge. That level of accountability and customer service truly stood out. We appreciate the way this team stands behind their work and would confidently recommend this dealership to others.

Erik Faulkner was by far the best salesman I’ve ever dealt with in any type of sales setting! He was very patient, quick to answer all of my questions, a very kind a generous man to say the least! They have to replace the windshield so I won’t be able to bring her home until tomorrow. My friend had to leave and Erik brought me home and bought me dinner on the way!
