Not sure what I would do without this place, they have parts for just about anything if you look hard enough. The people there are very nice and prices are reasonable.
Great place to find used parts for really decent prices. The place reminds me of the old salvage yards where you ask if thay had a part and the man would quote you a price and if you're agreed on a price they would take us to the vehicle and you remove the part yourself( or pay a lil more to have them remove it.) eithe way it's a deal. Wish we had more salvage/ junk yard like this around these days thank you to the swain' s for keeping the old tradition of a salvage yard going.
There is NO online presence for this yard do not send money to anyone go out to the yard and find some one and ask for your part.if someone is online asking for money it is a scam
This junkyard is a pick and pull yard and has alot of classic cars/trucks there. Most classic cars/trucks range from the 30's through the 80's. You need to bring a cart on wheels to transport tools and parts....be prepared to walk alot and climb around.This place also has lawn tractors, heavy equipment trucks and trailers, farm tractors and implements. Great People to deal with and i will be coming back there soon.
Five stars for size and type of parts that can be found there. While some might be "overwhelmed" by it's size and apparent "disorder. I have always found that if your nice and polite to the Swain's, and ask nicely, they will tell you exactly where the part can be found and how many of said part they have. Those guys know their yard and where everything in it is. Also unlike many other junk yards that only keep common and newer vehicles, Swain's is where I go to find older and hard to find parts. i often drive past there junk yard and they just wave as you drive by down the road, giving off that small town folk feel.
I’ve been searching for parts for a 1973 Dodge van, which has been a difficult task. Swain had my parts and Bobby was very helpful.
Bobby and his wife run the place. They are salt of the earth, fair, honest, hard working folks.
They don't have a phone number just show up wait by the road.dont talk 2 anyone on the Facebook page it's a scam they don't have Facebook.but these guys are awesome stopped what they were doing took my bed off put new one on in the rain.they do amazing work fair price I will be going there from now on
Been going there before I even had a license to drive great people, fair prices, and if it's daylight they are open go there sit by the road by the dumpsters and Bobby will come let you know if they have what you need
Bob's great, always got jokes for ya, I love going there to hunt for treasures. There's no phone number and no inventory, but Bobby knows exactly what's out there, where it's at, and if it'll work for what you've got. Bring your muck boots, it gets pretty deep sometimes. ?
Visited in June 2020. 5 stars for the sheer size of the yard and variety of vehicles there--boats, RVs, pop-up campers, school buses, heavy equipment, log loaders...you name it, it's probably there. 5 stars because it's an open-air museum of transportation and a modern archaeology site. On the other hand, 1 star for the sheer size of the yard and variety of vehicles there...so much to look at you get lost. Doesn't seem to be a system to how vehicles are placed so plan to spend a day there hunting. Vehicles over 20 years old very rusty and rotting. You'll need a car or truck that can navigate the rutted trails. Best to drive down a path, park, get out and walk, repeat. Wear pants and sturdy shoes.
They have lots of old school car parts and lots of descent old school cars if you would like to restore o e this is a gold mine. They also have a descent price for parts.
