Go for: A great spot to spend a weekend afternoon/early evening during the warmer months. Avoid if: You're in a hurry, or don't enjoy seafood. Something surprising: The size of this place - could easily accommodate many hundred people during the summer. Reservation needed? For the dining room only. They have on-site parking. Overall Experience: 4/5. The view and atmosphere were phenomenal, the beers were good, and the food was respectable but it didn't blow us away. Definitely a fun place to bring family and friends in the warmer months. Value for Price: 3 Sanitation: 4 Food Quality: 3 Menu Precision: 4 Service Quality: 3 Timing: 4 Decor: 4 Access: 3 — 5 among the best, 4 strong, 3 not too bad, 2 mediocre, 1 never again

Fantastic location, world renowned oysters, and a good selection of beers (other food and beverages are also available). Orders are placed at at cashier near the bar, and food and beverage are brought to your bench, if you're sitting outside. There's also inside dining. Highly recommend!

How fun. Great way to enjoy the local bounty. Fun time with food friends in a great atmosphere.

They have an indoor and outdoor option, both of them are nice. Amazing view and fast service! Great ingredients and fresh oysters. Please don’t miss the cocktails I love this place!!!

Really cool place with great views, the oysters 🦪 were delicious. But the whole outdoor dining part is confusing and foolish and we ordered 3 different things and it’s like they all came out 40 mins apart. And if I could make some suggestions; -picnic tables out by the waters edge need lighting - “A” frame/hut tables need lighting -The menu should have a few regular items like sandwiches or something, keep it simple

Everyone here is so nice and helpful. The ordering style outside was new to us, sort of like counter service— grab a table and the number, open your tab in the main line then everything you order after that can be done at any POS. We were able to eat here after our morning farm tour and it took everything in me not to order the whole menu. If I hadn’t eaten so many oysters on the tour I would’ve ordered another roll and the crab dip! That just means we will definitely be coming back.

Great tour and experience. Gained new information on my faves delight . Guides and boat crew were top notch.

What a unique and gorgeous experience. Beautiful location and atmosphere. Delicious oysters. Had several other menu items that were fantastic as well. Cocktails were perfect and made with crushed ice. Really 10/10 experience and not to be missed. Service was also very friendly and quick. A note that they add a 10% kitchen gratuity to every check. You do not get a preview of your receipt to see how the charges are laid out, you are just presented a handheld screen that shows your total - with the 10% already included - so if you are an automatic 20% tipper, just realize you’re tipping an additional 20% on an amount that already includes a 10% gratuity. It’s a little cumbersome and confusing and honestly they could probably find a way to do it better, but there’s probably a large majority of people basically tipping 30% here unwittingly, so not sure they’re incentivized to make it more customer friendly and transparent. Leaving that much at a place where you have to stand in line to order, stand in line for drinks, stand in line to order additional food or drinks, and where there are only food runners seems excessive. Still doesn’t detract from the experience, just something to be aware of.

We thought the food was good. Like the oyster selection. Want something different, try the caviar hot dog. Good local beer selection. Servers are friendly. Parking may be a little of a challenge depending on when you go.

Excellent oysters, service, and view. They bring your food and drinks out to you and take empty dishes. Friendly and welcoming staff. Expansive menu and ample seating. I enjoyed many oysters and cocktails. Inside seating and clean restrooms. They even had parking guides to help you find a spot.

Nice post beach vibes! Great music and drinks, perfect for people watching and a light bite after a day exploring the area.

What stood out to me the most, though, was the sense of community. From the friendly staff to the family-owned roots, Island Creek feels less like a restaurant and more like a gathering place for those who appreciate authenticity—in both food and people. It’s the kind of place where you can tell every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the menu to the environment. They’ve managed to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that pairs perfectly with the fresh, local fare.

Best experience! Great food, good vibes, had our baby with us and didn’t feel out of place! Loved it!

This is a gem for many reasons but the view is the most special thing about it. Layer in the fact that the food is delicious as are the drinks, and it makes for a very special place. It’s a great option for gluten free and dairy free restrictions, but you definitely need to like seafood or you won’t be able to eat much. (It is a raw bar after all…) It does have sushi bowls and kids options. The cocktails are incredible, some served over crushed ice which I love and feels like a treat. Great spot for a date or family outing (including the dog) with lots of options for seating. It can get crowded st the height of summer. We usually try to get there right when it opens or an hour or two before close to get a good table. There’s also a really nice indoor seating area with rec room vibes.

Went here a while back, and the service was good. The oyester are some of the best I've ever had. There was a nice view of the ocean. Good beer selection, too! They are also dog friendly. This dog looks like my dog!

We spent the afternoon here and loved it! The fresh air and natural setting make it a great spot to unwind and grab a snack. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the lemonade was delicious. The place itself is stunning, and they offer tours for interested visitors. Come check it out, it's beautiful! 🤩

Great place to have oysters 🦪 and a cold drink with a beautiful bay view. Bees can be annoying but they’re friendly. Facilities are nice many bench style seating.

Such a great experience spending an afternoon with a tour of the Island Creek Oyster Farm. The tour itself was excellent and the individuals conducting the tour have so much knowledge and passion for what they do. Tour aside, the Raw Bar itself is so idyllic - perfect for whiling away a summer afternoon...

Oh my gosh, what a great family friendly place to chill, have a frozen cocktail and some oysters and let the kids play. All while staring out at the bay. Idyllic. Oh ya, phenomenal oysters.

Honestly I was not super impressed by it. The good: Awesome views, decent beer selection, if you’re looking for instagram photos then this is your spot. People were also friendly. The Bad: Shrimp cocktail- the shrimp was over cooked and chewy. I also wasn’t a fan of the seasoning (Sesame seeds and Nori flakes) tasted pretty fishy. I understand the seasoning is a personal preference. However the shrimp was way over cooked Jonah Crab Claws- They were overly cold, like almost frozen cold and meat was tough and stringy. Not like normal Jonah crab. Hot dog- this was purchased because we were still hungry because the food was not great. We got it as a fill in (granted this is not a place to get hotdogs usually), but $5 for a over cooked roller dog, on a bun that was going stale; that was not steamed or grilled is a little steep. It was editable but not something I’d get again. Overall, views are great I’ll give them that, but everything else considered I would not personally go back.

Our server was very nice, but they don’t tell you there’s a 10% “admin fee” for the kitchen workers share of tip? not sure why you don’t just pay your workers more, but that’s besides the point. The view is fantastic, but the pricing for the quality of the food here is interesting... Roughly $60 for what is essentially just a subpar Alaskan Roll and 8 (sandy) oysters. Expected better from the high ratings, but it might be outdated. Probably won’t be coming back.

This review is for the farm tour: Hatchery guide, Angela: I love this woman. You get a oyster hatchery tour by a marine biologist! She was so informative and funny. I loved seeing all the equipment and learning about raising oysters. Boat crew, Alana and Christopher: After the tour at the hatchery, you get on a boat with the other tour participants and two staff members. Alana, kept my tummy happy with the endless oysters she kept shucking. Thank you, Christopher for pulling up the bay map and explain where we are and where oyster farming happens. On-Site Experience Coordinator, Karla: This person answered ALL MY QUESTIONS. Thank you. Note: When you buy your tickets online, you will see a fee of about $10/pp. It is the website charging you, just like StubHub, ticketmaster, etc. FYI. You can tip online or in person. I know the tour is pricey, but if you can afford it, it is a wonderful experience. Otherwise, just visit the raw bar and enjoy the patio.

Was a little disbelief in the ceviche portion. Returned them. They were really nice about it, thankfully. $10 for beer on tap is ridiculous. You would think they would make enough money on other stuff to have reasonable beer prices. Especially since they charge the same price for oysters if you would pay in a restaurant. The point of showing up to a producer was to pay producer prices. If they wanted to make money on the ambiance they should just charge a cover of $10. I find the other reviews about the place being like a Chuck E Cheese hilarious in their accuracy! Bougie kids I guess 🤷! However, from what I understand, their service was horrible before because they were operating out of the food truck and we're unable to accommodate the crowds and they have made much improvement in that area.

Oysters are always shucked fresh and are never gritty! The service at the bar, paired with the nice sea breeze is a great experience. The upstairs bar is cozy and warm for those cooler summer nights. Definitely stop by and grab some merch on your way out.

The perfect place for a lazy summer night with someone special. Organic, chill, utterly unique experience like nothing else. Skip the shrimp, double up on the oysters 🦪 2023 update: the newly updated inside area is modern, cool and comfortable. Water views, and table games - connect 4 and more. Come up here if there’s a line at the picnic tables below.

Excellent sense of hospitality from the woman seating us to the guys taking our orders. The place was packed, which is always a good sign of how the experience will unfold. Food was obviously fresh. The ceviche was killer, and everything a very fair price. Topping some oysters with the caviar we ordered was a wonderful treat. We don't have kids but enjoyed the fact that many families were enjoying the food and view together, no matter what the previous reviewer said. No kids were screaming and everyone was obviously enjoying their time here. We'll be back soon, and look forward to eating outside in the fresh ocean air.

Just an all out enjoyable experience. Went on a work trip and took the tour, had great beers on draft in a great location and setting, easy quick treats like caviar hot dogs and oysters and super friendly staff. Can't wait to come back

The vibe here was on point. Nice and open. They have three types of oysters which were all delicious. We tried caviar hot dog which was really interesting and we had what appeared to be a clam chowder but was used as a dip for chips. This would be a good place to go to hangout with friends.

If you find yourself on the South Shore of Mass.... GO. TO. THIS. PLACE. Can't say enough about this experience! We visited this past Sunday, after my wife & I drove up from New York for a family event. (I'm from the area.) We were both VERY excited to check out their new set-up. The location & grounds: absolutely gorgeous. The food: UNREAL (which goes without saying). Delicious cocktails, quality beer list.... But it was the professionalism & customer service that *absolutely blew us away*. The operation was an impressive, well-oiled machine; which was obvious from the start. That's why we were surprised when, over an hour after ordering, our food still hadn't come out. In fairness, it was incredibly busy & we were just chilling with our drinks & enjoying the beautiful scenery; but we decided to check up on it with the bartender. After trying to locate the order, it became apparent that something had gone wrong & it was never received by the kitchen. I cannot stress enough how impressive the response to this situation was: Immediately they very sincerely apologized, explained that this was a very rare mistake (which I do not doubt in the slightest), and told us that they were going to pick up our tab. I initially thought they meant only the food (which would've been overly generous enough), as we had already had a few drinks each. But no; they meant *all of it*. They then had our order rushed to us in absolutely no time flat. The food was INCREDIBLE, & well worth the wait. But the thing was, we were having a great time & still planned to hang out. Not wanting to look like we trying to take advantage of their already incredible generosity, we insisted on opening a new tab for everything we ordered from that point on, which ended up being another round of drinks *AND* another round of food. When the time came & I tried to close out, they refused to charge the card & insisted on picking up that round too. *I was FLOORED.* I honestly haven't seen customer service at that level in my life! Didn't even know it was possible these days. And the thing is, it didn't come off as "customer service; it was a 100% sincere reaction by some damn fine people who seem to love where they work & take pride in making it an incredibly impressive experience from start to finish. Honestly, 'blown away' doesn't even come close! My sincerest commendation & all the respect in the world to everyone involved with this place: from the front line staff, to the kitchen, to management, & all the way up the hierarchy of the organization. Island Creek is obviously the standard as to how a business should be run, & it shows. Can't wait to be back! (And the best part is, they just gave me every justification to be *completely unreasonable* with how much I plan to order the next time we get there!) Do yourself a favor & make the trip. It's worth every penny that we would've paid, & more!

Wow, excellent summer spot, plenty of seating and great atmosphere. Bar and food staff were friendly, prompt, and I don't think you can get fresher oysters. Clam dip was surprisingly delicious, and they even refilled the chips to make sure we got to enjoy it all. Beware, it's a bit hard to find, just park where all the cars are, and walk along the sidewalk behind the building.
