I went there for his 70th birthday party and it was phenomenal. The food was great. The drinks were good. The cake was good. The atmosphere was good quaint little place. What more can I say?
My friend & I went in for dinner on 02/12 around 615 PM. We were waiting to be greeted, the hostess didn’t even look our way! She looked right past us, no acknowledgment. She didn’t even say hello or she’ll be right with us! She also scooted past me like she didn’t want me there. We were made to feel very uncomfortable and it was very telling with the climate of the world right now that we’re not welcomed there. Do better.
I visited on 02/12 with a friend. When we walked in there was a couple waiting to be seated. They said they were all set so we proceeded to the hostess stand. The hostess did not greet or acknowledge us. She picked up menus walked past us and apologized to the other couple for their wait.
A simple “Hi I’ll be right with you” would have been appreciated. While this may not be everyone’s experience we couldn’t help but notice that we may not fit the area’s usual demographic here in South Hadley. That’s something worth considering when deciding where to spend your money.
We walked out right after It was disheartening though given the current climate in this country, not entirely surprising.
Good meal at a great price. The steak was a good quality and was cooked too perfection. The mozzarella appetizer was very good maybe a little overcooked. Clean chowder was excellent. The brownie sundae was alright very unremarkable. Ordered the special 4 courses at $24 was an excellent choice. Will be back.
What a lovely little spot. The service, food, drinks, and vibe was fabulous. I had the salmon and he had the steak bites...only compliments from us. Coolest part, we received a gift of a signature glass. Definitely a place to check out!
Food was good. Service was great. Music was too loud. Not able to talk with friends at my table. Left earlier than we planned to. Just drop the volume by a notch or two ?.
Fish and chips...the fish was very good.
Mediocre fries tasted like they came from frozen , not fresh potatoes. For $23 should be fresh. Soupy coleslaw.
Asian salad with chicken was swimming in dressing. The flavors were good but amaturist presentation priced for quality.
We had a large party of 15 tonight and our server Sabrina was excellent. Very attentive, kind, and fast. She took very great care of us tonight and checked on us frequently making sure we were well taken care of. Food was delicious as well! We shared lots of delicious appetizers, soup, entrees. All delicious. Sabrina was fantastic. Lovely night here.
We were so excited to try the new prix fixe menu tonight but we’re very disappointed. After 15 minutes of sitting without anyone coming to our table for even our drink order I had to go to the hostess to ask if we could have a waiter. Even more time passed and I had to ask a waitress who was helping another table if we could again please have a waitress. We finally were able to place an order after 20+ minutes of just sitting and asking twice. The food was ok, the mozzarella sticks tasted like they were just frozen and microwaved. The pasta that came with the chicken parm was extremely cold. We usually enjoy our time at this restaurant but this evening was extremely disappointing.
Food and service was absolutely amazing. I went here because the menu says most items can be made gluten free. I was bummed when I found out there’s a ton of cross contamination in the kitchen. It’s difficult finding a safe place to eat. For people who want to eat gluten free for whatever reason it’s great but for someone who suffers with celiac disease it’s a risk. They do have shared equipment and fryers. However, the waitress went above and beyond to ensure my food was made safely and I did not get sick. She was wonderful! Unfortunately due to the shared equipment I could not have any of the appetizers.
The food was delicious. The prices were average for today's new normal of everything being at least double from a few years ago. Staff was friendly. Live entertainment was enjoyable!
Servers were nice. Chicken tenders were over cooked even black in some pieces. Nachos were flavorless and stuck together and to the plate. I know they have cheese but not supposed to be hard to eat. My drink tasted watered down. When I arrived the couple next to us had a problem with their meal as well and told the waitress and ask for it to be removed from the bill. She told them she didnt know if she could because he had already eat some, mind you his plate was full. I didnt complain about my food after hearing this. I tried this location because I have been to the one in Boston and it was excellent. I recommend trying other locations.
Omg like first time coming here and everything was almost to perfection. The pasta needed slightly a bit of salt. But honestly i loved everything that was ordered. Def highly recommend
Excellent food and service. Went for lunch with my wife. The calamari appetizer was the most flavorful and best we have ever had. First time visiting the area. Great location with a variety of shops nearby.
The Yarde Tavern is located in the center area of South Hadley. Lots to do around! During the summer, they have a Thursday concert series. Parking can be tricky because there’s not that many spots in the rear. You can try street parking. The food portions are huge with such affordable prices.
The food was really good. My husband got the chicken wrap, which he said was one of the best ones he's ever had. I had their Vermonter, which is a maple turkey burger. It was one of the best things I've had to eat in a long time. I also ordered a blueberry ale which came with fresh blueberries in the glass when they served it. Cute modern cabin-like vibe inside. We will be coming back again.
Yarde Tavern is a great spot with an awesome atmosphere. The wait staff are really good too. I gave the food 4 stars because everything cost extra. The entrees and sandwiches don't come with anything. Super annoying...otherwise, the food is pretty good.
In my opinion the atmosphere is what The Yarde Tavern has the best to offer. We sat down outside and had some drinks, the server was good. Parking your car could be a little tricky, but what disappointed us was the food, first the kitchen forgot my order but the restaurant wasn’t busy at that time, second our meals didn’t have any flavor, we all didn’t finish our meals. Like I said in the beginning, you pay for the atmosphere. I would probably be back for the drinks but not for the food.
Excellent meal my bf and I just enjoyed! Such a fresh good size Caesar Salad for the price and the dressing is bomb, we could not finish it..the pic is leftovers!
I got the cheeseburger eggrolls, very hearty could only eat 1, fried in a clean good oil, very full of yumminess inside!
My bf got the Tavern burger.. omg the size of the burger!!! Such a beautifully put together sandwich that came with fresh seasoned fries that are amazing!! For $45 honestly the best so far! Keep up the good work! Thank you for a delightful meal! ?
Great tavern with a nice cozy feel and great food. We had the Mahi tacos, cheeseburger spring rolls, for apps and the fried chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. Everything was great. I want to get back and try the steak tips.
Food was only topped by the service! Truly enjoyed our stop here on our road trip. Prices are very affordable and the quality is quite high. The dining room was nicely decorated and we were able to have a conversation at regular volume.
First time visiting this tavern and will likely return. The parking is behind the building and down a hill. The parking in the area can be tricky as this is right next to a housing complex. There are a few street side parking spots out front, just be careful as it's a busy corner.
Atmosphere is great and the place is nicely decorated. We'll maintained pine floors and updated paint and wall tiles compared to other locations in the area. There is an outdoor patio, but it was raining during our visit so the patio was closed.
Food was fantastic! Pretzel sticks were awesome. Nice and hot, freshly made and the beer cheese sauce was well done. Steak and cheese had a black pepper bit. The sandwich came out nicely, but after a bit the bun does get soggy but they provide a nice steak knife to help you out. Fries spot on. The husband had the chicken and waffles and appreciated the chicken portion. The waffles had just a hint of sweet from the maple, but nothing over powering. He also enjoyed picking some favorites for his beer flight.
Two points for consideration, our waitress never offered refills and the bathrooms were tiny. Nothing bad, just tooks away from the experience.
Walked up to be seated and we weren’t happily greeted or really spoken to. The waitress we had was very nice and helpful though which was a nice turnaround! I will say the drinks aren’t really strong for the price, but were good. The food was great everything was hot and well portioned. Bathrooms were clean which was nice. Would definitely consider coming back!
Went for my birthday dinner this evening and I had a great evening. Keep Rachel around, she provides great service to all the guests & she's so much fun! Love her! We will be back! Food and drinks were also excellent. Shout out to the line cooks & bartender! ❤️
Very friendly staff (all of them). I went three times in the same week with different friends. First time, I sat inside; the second, outside and, the third, ordered to-go. Great experience. Good value for the food. I sat at the bar while waiting for my order. The lady at the bar is EXCELLENT AND EFFICIENT. She managed the phone, took the to-go orders, serve the patrons at the bar and prepare drinks for the servers, etc. I ordered the 1. NY steak (delicious), 2. Baked cod (ok) and the 3. Cobb salad (good). Will definitely go back.
Great outdoor patio with live music. Tables are spread way apart and cleaned with disinfectant between each change over. Menu is digital and you must have a cell phone to view it. You can get drinks while you wait for a table and bring them out to the grass at the Post Office. The food was really delicious!! Ribeye and Lobster Ravioli. Yum!!
It's clean, tables are nicely spaced out, friendly waitresses, menu has a great variety and prices are reasonable and plenty of parking spots. The food is good!
