Stopped in to attempt to get my trailer hitch properly fitted after a failed attempt at Advance Auto. The shop that installed it originally had us in something that was unsafe, a 2inch box with a 1 7/8 ball bolted into it. It was wiggling all over the place. Rebecca went above and beyond, not only ensuring the pieces she sold us fit on my car, but put them on there herself in the parking lot! As a clueless woman when it comes to cars, she totally saved me a huge hassle. She did all this, in the middle of the COVID pandemic, with a mask on and all. I had to stay outside or close to the door as my 4 year old waited for me in the car. She was incredibly generous and helpful! I couldn’t have asked for more.
This place seems to have the best prices, and if you're having the work on your vehicle done at Gloucester High School, CAP gives you a great discount on your parts! The employees here are incredibly helpful.
As of June of last year Consumer Auto Parts and pep-boys both fall under the banner of Auto plus. They were purchased by Carl Icahn and operate under the same corporate umbrella. If there is something at Pep-boys you like it should not be an issue to get it to a consumer auto parts near you ! Hope this helps to clear things up

Customer service is a joke in this store and also the selection . Get your parts from amazon way less price and original OEM parts . This store is not like the CAP (Consumer Auto Parts) this store is only for mechanics delivery basic parts.
I'm not surprised that the negative comments are anonymously left... More than likely disgruntled ex employees or desperate competition. Fact of the matter is both Tony and Mark who manage the store and run commercial are extremely well rounded in automotive and both very good with customer service. The retail staffing is knowledgeable and if for some reason they don't know what you're asking for, they can always go to the commercial guys. Great inventory, and if its not there they can usually get it within a day. Highly recommended.
Great auto parts store. Larger selection of parts for my vehicle (98 Jeep Cherokee) than any other store in town. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable as well.
2 good experiences with CAPs. 2 weeks ago I went in on a Sunday AM and the guy at the counter couldn't have been more helpful finding my wiper blades.
I went back today because I couldn't figure out how to install them ... thought I might have the wrong ones. Tony Dacruz (manager) said "Come on. Let's take a look". He came outside with me, took off my old ones and installed the new ones.
Now THAT's what I call small town, friendly, "local" service!
