My wife and I were in for Valentine's Day last tonight and had a great time. The food was wonderful and the staff was very attentive. The only observation I have is that there is almost no waiting space at the entrance, so we were standing in the way a bit before being seated. Some benches or couches outside the threshold would be great.
Dec 2025: We started with oysters and then had the chefs tasting menu. Excellent selection of oysters, they were exceptionally good which may be due to it being Dec, months with a R and all that.
The tasting menu was very good, it was five courses including a fish course and a meat course.
2019: Oysters we're terrific as was the parsnip soup. Steak was just OK.
Elm Square Oyster Co is amazing. My wife and I reserved a table for our anniversary dinner and ran into some traffic and issues which delayed us about half an hour. Roseann the owner and her staff were so accommodating and great to work with to ensure even with the hiccups we wouldn’t be waiting for a table.
It just got better when we got there. Our waiter Jessie, was probably one of the best waiters I have ever had. He was so courteous, proactive (our table was a bit off balance, he fixed it without me mentioning it) and pleasant. We had the best time due to him and other staff there.
The food is also amazing. We got oysters of course, charcuterie, mussels, and salads. The drinks were awesome.
We will be returning sooner than later!

Best halibut ever!!! Cooked perfectly with butter and salt, succulent scallops, and a mouth watering steak. The beets and goat cheese melted in my mouth. The blue fin tuna crudo started the meal perfectly.
Elm Square is our favorite place to eat in Andover, so much so that we have date night here every Tuesday! The food is phenomenal and clean. The oysters are amazing and fresh. My guilty pleasure is the charcuterie options, nothing beats quality food!
This was our first time visiting Elm Square oyster. I made reservation online and emailed with Rosanne the owner. My wife and I were celebrating two big events and Rosanne and the staff were tremendously accommodating. We had great service and were made to feel very special. Our waiter, JESSE Was tremendous. The quality of food was top-notch and the ambience is cool for a Andover town center establishment. We will be back, soon.
Great food ! Scallop dinner was perfect as was Halibut , Crudo and mussels small plate starters tasty .

Fantastic food and service. We could not get enough of the cold briny oysters. And the kitchen has a deft hand with everything else as well: deviled eggs, chicken liver pate, butter lettuce salad, brussels sprouts, herbed fries...all were delicious. Truly talented kitchen staff, many thanks to all of you we had a wonderful evening.

We had an incredible experience at Elm Square Oysterr in Andover, MA. Rosalina and her brother John provided top-notch service, making us feel truly welcomed. The food was exceptional—clean, high-quality ingredients, and every dish was perfectly executed. The Duxbury oysters were the best I’ve ever had—so fresh and flavorful! The drinks? Unbelievable! To top it all off, their warm hospitality shined through when they surprised our table with complimentary champagne & dessert for our friend’s anniversary. A class act all around! Highly recommend.
I liked my time here. You can start by having a mix-and-match of different oysters, and each comes with their descriptions (brine/sweetness/size, etc.), which is useful for deciding. My husband and I then took the crispy halibut sandwich, which was yummy. Although the main entrees were pricier, the food tasted really good. However, I would have loved to see more options on the menu (a salmon dish, for example). The service here was fantastic though. Everyone was warm and friendly, and the food was served really fast! Also, just a suggestion: the decor could be improved with some ambient lighting.

Menu is limited but not bad, option for every dietery needs/wants, I wouldn't call my meal (halibut) 100% satisfying (to my taste) and the gem lettuce salad my friend ordered looked pretty poor (to me). Servers are friendly, and I give them credit for trying their best, but (again) their best is not enough for a restaurant at this price range. Atmosphere is good for a group of friends and family without young children, but I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic date. I would go back there but wouldn't be my first choice. I know there are a lot of "but"s on my review because the place might be perfect for someone elses taste and needs.
I recently had the pleasure of DJing an event at Elm Square Oyster, specifically in their newly opened function room, The Pearl Room. The experience was exceptional from start to finish.
First, the location is prime—right in the heart of a vibrant area, making it easy for guests to get to. The load-in and load-out process was a breeze, all on the same floor, which made setup incredibly efficient.
The Pearl Room itself is beautifully designed, offering the perfect ambiance for any event. I met the owner, Rosanne, who was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about her establishment. It’s easy to see the level of care and attention to detail that goes into everything here.
Although I didn’t get to taste the food firsthand, it looked absolutely amazing. The guests were raving about it all night, and the presentation was top-notch. The staff was equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and on point throughout the entire event.
Whether you’re planning an event or just looking for a great dining experience, Elm Square Oyster and The Pearl Room are top-tier. Highly recommended!
We tried the 5 course chefs tasting and it was amazing. It was such a great experience. The chef came out and explained each tasting in detail and it was the best food we have had, maybe ever. The food was amazingly good. We can't say enough about Michael Sherman the Chef. The service and atmosphere were great as well. Highly recommend the 5 course Chefs tasting.
Blown away! I haven’t had a meal in a long time up in the “burbs” that has blown me away and this place did that. Artfully crafted starters and mains- flavors were spot on and seasoning was perfect.
The crudo we had was refreshing and flavorful. Mushroom risotto balls were cooked to perfection, and the surprising sweetness and saltiness on them was delicious! The halibut was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth.
We will be back!
First time at Elm Square Oyster. Had a table available in the bar which seemed to be the place to be. Bar area was packed.
Started with couple signature drinks. I had a snowbird, it was very tasty if you like grapefruit.
Server was excellent even though it was very busy. He recommended a few oysters and off we went. Very well shucked keeping the brine in the shell and they had the usual cocktail sauce and mignonette but there was an additional sauce - spicy with maybe some Sriracha, honestly saved it for my burger/fries, it was that good.
Crab dip and chips were ok. Drip was good but I don't love it when places serve the chips "well done".
We then had a mushroom toast and burger. The sauce on the mushroom toast was amazing. Burger was solid and definitely a good portion.
All in all. Definitely will return. Great vibe, good food, excellent service.
What a wonderful first experience here. An incredible selection of oysters and the steak was perfect. We also had the lamb kebab and deviled eggs! Everything is made here fresh (the bread for the cheese plate is from boston and the cheese is obviously imported) but this restaurant is perfect for those who appreciate fresh ingredients and everything made from scratch. Not inexpensive but worth every dollar.
Would recommend and will be back. What a delicious menu and the cocktails are perfectly executed!

The hostess, manager, chef, and server were all fantastic. Their "made from scratch" menu certainly doesn't disappoint. Their oysters were shucked wonderfully. This was our first visit, and we'll certainly be looking to return!

Indoor or outdoor eating. More private tables in back near kitchen. Half priced Chef special oysters before 7pm. Herb fries and crusted haddock sandwich was delicious with a Sams Hazy IPA. Good wine and liquor selection. Families with kids have great options as well.
Just had another lovely dinner at Elm Square Oyster Co. They have never disappointed. Great quality of food, fantastic bar tenders and drinks and I love sitting at the bar and having conversations with other locals.
Today I had some fresh oysters, gin martinis and the hamburger, which to me is one of the best in. this area. Always cooked to perfection.
Friendly staff, fresh seafood, overall a great experience. I enjoyed the steak a lot it was cooked perfectly. Beef tartar taste well with the bread, and they have specials for different oyster each night.
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary tonight, and had a great experience at the restaurant. Our waiter was kind and friendly in a genuine way, and the owner, Roseann, seemed to truly care about customer experiences. Delicious food and amazing staff. Definitely going back soon!
The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, the food is creative and made of quality, fresh ingredients, and the service is delightful. Perfect for any occasion, including a solo night out. A solid five star rating!
Appetizers were very good...drinks were also very good. Sangria and oysters was great. Service was a little slow and entrees were okay, but when we said something it was corrected. I would definitely recommend and would go back. The seafood is very fresh and well prepared.
Great food, courteous service, and a well-heated, well-lit outdoor dining patio (seats about 16) in November (key for pandemic dining these days). Deconstructed carrot cake is unique and quite good.
A+ winelist, and absolutely delightful menu! Butternut squash soup with crispy pork belly and sage was simply put: perfection! I had a pear sparkling cocktail and substituted vodka for gin. Definitely a win. Have you ever seen a more beautiful charcuterie & cheese board? I sure haven't. <3
This restaurant is an experience! The menu has something for everyone. If your willing to try something new, this is the place! I was very optimistic about the cevice since I am not a fan of fish and not (jalapenos, olives, almonds..etc) After trusting my waitress and giving this a try, it changed my feelings! Every dish is plated to perfection! Chef Michael was even nice enough to step outside the kitchen and come check in on our dinner and see how the cevice experience went! Also make sure to save room for desert! Every item on there is made in house, the ice cream is amazing and the donuts are a favorite! Enjoy!
