Very honest auto repair!!! I went in because I thought my air conditioner needed a charge which would cost $200. He came back and said I forgot to press the button on (HaHa). and didn’t even charge me!! I never would have known!! I will be bringing my cars there from now on.
This place has been in Amesbury forever, and is actually pretty great. The people who own it / work there are knowledgeable and fair. Have had service there in the past, but most recently, I stopped by very early in the morning because my tire was leaking air. They found the issue, a screw in my tire and were able to help plug it right away at a reasonable cost. Saved me time, stress, and money.
Love this place. Been going here for years. Mike always has my back. No BS with these folks. Happy to see them expand and own Brothers down the street too. Highly recommend. They kept my 08 Mazda running forever
I don’t recommend, they will do things to your car and they went and dug in my trunk at my spare tire open a bag in trunk that had chalk and it was everywhere why you in my trunk was missing tools and items they took I can’t prove it’s ok thieve ( allegedly) rude , rotated tires and caused more issues , not to be trusted

Passing through town and had a small mysterious leak in my tire. Noticed the garage and decided to see eat the wait wolf look like. Said 5 minutes and got right in, diagnosed issue and got fixed quickly. Highly recommend!
I have been relying on Amesbury Auto for car maintenance and repairs for at least 15 years and they have taken good care of me. I recently had my shock mounts repaired in a quick and efficient manner; I knew exactly what I would pay ahead of time, to the penny. Highly recommend.
We came across this place traveling from out of state and had brake caliber lock up. As we pulled in they ran out of garage as they could smell it. Awesome guys helped us same day so we could attend a family reunion. They are the best!!! THANK U SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOm OF MY HEART!!

My vehicle's radiator broke on a trip from NH to CT. Amesbury Auto was able to quickly diagnose it and replace the radiator for a decent price(720$) to get me back on the road.
Buyer Beware- Cost/Labor/Parts Transparency
On my 2001Toyota Camry I had the alternator go unexpectedly. They said my 2 year old battery was gone they charged me $140 for a new one- ok pricey but not unheard of. The alternator they replaced it w/ was refurbished (only disclosed on the receipt) those start at $50 and it's $90 for a deposit $140 total right? I was charged $291.98. The labor was $210 they display the rate of$80/h so 2.6h of work. Except when I watch a professional slowly explain how to change the alternator the video is 15-min w/ instructions and different angles. So for this professional to do this work of diagnosis- changing the alternator and the battery it took 2.6 h. So buyer beware they will take your money and + $13 (for shop supplies) and $6.30 for Hazardous Materials (even though they got a $25 deposit for turning in my old battery) this came from the mechanics lips. Unfortunately this was an emergency far from home. Just understand what your dealing with luckily we can post reviews.
Over a year ago they misdiagnosed my car. Said it needed a fuel pump and replaced it through my warranty company. Car would not start right in there paking lot. The owner got it to start and drive it and said will be good. Messed up my fuel pump install causing me a flow switch problem. The day after I got back from them servicing my car, it would not start again. Towed it to a Chevy dealership . The original problem was with my engine fan staying on and a new battery. Not the fuel pump. Idiots and untrustworthy.
Had my tyrods replaced and an alignment done last week. A few days later a tire that was 4 months old kept going flat. Brought in to town fair to be fixed. They brought me back to show me that whoever had last worked on the car only put one lug nut back on 2 of my tires. DO NOT USE!!!!!
Place wasn't too honest and up front about the battery replacement I got! Felt like that classic mechanic bait and switch. Charged me $40 to install their battery, which was otherwise priced slightly high. Not that thrilled at all about the service here, but the people were nice enough... unfortunately that doesn't give me the money I overpaid back
These guys did a great job, I had a complex electrical problem on my Minivan and they fixed it at a very reasonable price. The are always honest here as well.
I called this business day of. Jim was extremely helpful and took me right in without hesitation, the day before Christmas Eve. Not many places will work on a foreign vehicle. I needed new shocks, being an essential worker I was panicked to not have my car for my car for my commute. Within about 5 hours he had me back safely on the road, for an extremely reasonable price. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning.
I've been here 3 times, all three I have been treated with respect, not lied to and taken care of. Joe is a solid dude who really seems to get that car problems are never convenient. Prices are always fair and I will always come back. Love this place!
I always get my inspections and oil changes here. After Valvoline made a bunch of mistakes and I got sick of the corporate places trying to sell me things, I started coming here. Great local place, speedy service, nice people. I call ahead and see the wait and they're always happy to let you know an accurate wait time. Highly recommended
Our family ran into car trouble on our trip North and stopped in here. Jim quickly ran a diagnostic and figured out the issue. He stayed an hour after closing time to get us back on the road safely. Nobody wants to run into unexpected car issues, but if it was going to happen - we were grateful it happened where we could get to Amesbury Auto Center. We were treated with respect and care. I brought a used car that I was thinking about buying to this shop on a Saturday morning. Even without an appointment they were willing to put it up on the lift and give it a very thorough inspection. They also test drove it. They gave me a list of the issues they found and offered to work up a deal to do the service if I chose to buy the car. In my opinion it had too many issues, and I was glad to find a shop that was willing to identify them for me!
We arrived with many car troubles 30 mins before closing. We are from out of state and with a toddler and they got our car right in, diagnosed and gave an estimate within 10 mins. They stayed 2 hrs after closing to fix our car and get us back on the road. They gave us recommendations for where to wait with our son and let him watch the repairs. Excellent service and people in a very nice town.
I LOVE Jim and the guys at Amesbury Auto, they always beat any other estimate, and usually do more work for that less cost. I appreciate that they will let you know what needs to be done and then let you decide how much you can do at a time. My cars are safer and I can still afford to feed my kids, very impressive. Thanks Amesbury Auto...and really the other poster upset about windshield wipers?!?....really? buy some or don't dude.
