I normally don’t write reviews like this, but this situation needs to be made public so no one else ends up in the same position. Someone close to me, a young man living with a disability and surviving on a very limited income, purchased a vehicle through Mike back in October. He trusted what he was told—that the car was in solid condition and dependable. Unfortunately, that trust appears to have been completely misplaced. Not long after the purchase, it became clear the vehicle had serious pre-existing issues that were never disclosed. The car had major structural rust, including badly deteriorated floorboards and door areas that did not appear obviously damaged at first glance, suggesting they may have been concealed. On top of that, the engine was misfiring, and there are strong reasons to believe warning indicators like the check engine light were not functioning as they should have been. What raises even more concern is how the sale itself was handled. From what we’ve been able to determine, Mike never properly transferred the title into his own name. Instead, the title was simply passed along from the previous owner. This creates a serious problem: on paper, it looks like the original owner sold the vehicle—not Mike. As a result, the only apparent legal route to recover the money may involve going after someone who wasn’t even directly involved in the transaction as it was presented. Meanwhile, Mike distances himself from responsibility. That alone should set off red flags for anyone considering doing business with him. The buyer has repeatedly tried to resolve this situation directly, asking for basic accountability—at minimum, a refund of the $2,500 paid, along with the additional costs of taxes and registration. Given the condition of the vehicle and how it was represented, that would be the fair and reasonable outcome. However, those requests have been refused. This is not just a bad deal—it has had a real impact on someone who depends on limited disability income to cover essential needs like medical appointments, prescriptions, and daily living. Losing that amount of money on a vehicle that appears to have been misrepresented is a serious hardship. Because of this, formal complaints have been filed with multiple agencies, including the Better Business Bureau, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, Consumer Affairs, and legal services organizations. This is not something that’s being ignored or brushed aside—we intend to pursue every available avenue to seek accountability. If you are thinking about buying a vehicle through Mike, take this as a warning. Verify everything independently, check the title history carefully, and do not rely on verbal assurances alone. Situations like this don’t just “go away,” and this one won’t be dropped. MIKE PAY HIM BACK HIS MONEY! so he doesn't have to sue Colleen Kennedy of Brewster who was the original owner of the vehicle because of the way you sold it that's what he would have to do and she has no direct knowledge of your sale to him. you lied you manipulated and you took advantage of a disabled person on a limited income and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I am writing this to share my experience and to warn others before they consider doing business with Mike. Back in October, a close friend of mine—who is disabled and survives on a very limited fixed income—purchased a vehicle from Mike. He was explicitly told the vehicle was in “great shape” and had “no issues whatsoever.” That statement could not have been further from the truth. Almost immediately after the purchase, serious problems began to surface that clearly existed long before the sale. The vehicle was in extremely poor condition. It had severe structural rust, including completely rotted floorboards and door jambs that appeared to have been intentionally concealed to avoid detection. On top of that, the engine had a noticeable misfire in cylinder 4—something any honest seller or competent mechanic would have disclosed. Even more concerning, it appeared that the check engine light had been deliberately disabled so that these issues would not be obvious during a test drive or inspection. After the purchase, my friend repeatedly reached out to Mike for help, hoping for some level of accountability or assistance. Each time, he was met with excuses, avoidance, or outright dismissal. Instead of taking responsibility, Mike continued to deflect and mislead at every opportunity. At one point, the vehicle was brought to Town Auto in Dennis for inspection. Despite the vehicle being in a condition that clearly should not have passed—given the extensive rust and mechanical issues—it somehow received a valid inspection sticker. Based on the condition of the car, this raises serious concerns about how that inspection was obtained. What makes this situation especially upsetting is who this was done to. This was not someone with extra money to fall back on—this was a young disabled individual who relies on a tight disability income to survive. Reliable transportation is not a luxury in this situation—it is essential for getting to critical doctor’s appointments, picking up medications, and managing basic daily needs. Losing $2,500 on a vehicle that was misrepresented so severely is not just frustrating—it is devastating. Throughout the entire process, Mike presented himself as someone knowledgeable and trustworthy, even suggesting he was helping out or doing a good deed. In reality, based on this experience, his actions showed the complete opposite. There was a consistent pattern of misleading statements, lack of transparency, and refusal to address serious, pre-existing problems. If you are considering doing business with Mike, I strongly urge you to proceed with extreme caution. Have any vehicle thoroughly inspected by an independent, trusted mechanic before purchasing, and do not rely solely on his word. This experience has been incredibly difficult, and I would not want to see anyone else—especially someone in a vulnerable financial or medical situation—go through the same thing.

I was towing my car with my RV. The brake adjustment wasn't set properly and the 2 front wheels started smoking. TPMS went off and showed 260 degrees. I was concerned that something was compromised, like tires, rotors, discs, brake lines, etc. I brought it to Mike to have it checked out for safety reasons. Mike threw it on the lift and took it for a test drive, and determined that it was ok to drive. Thanks to Mike for fitting me into his busy schedule. If I lived here instead of PA, this would be my go-to mechanic. Thanks Mike! Keep on picking! JD

Mike is the best mechanic around. I showed up before the shop was open and he looked at my car right away. I had a bad front axle (or so I thought) and he had the car ready to go a few hours later. He saved me a lot of time and money. Thank you so much Mike, I hope my car breaks down again soon so I can come hangout :)

Great service operated by a good man. Drove to Cape Cod for vacation and one of my brakes started making cranking noises. Called 3 shops and all were booked solid for weeks. Called Mike @ Underpass and he fit me in within 24 hours. He advised over the phone that, based on my description, the car may need more than just new brake pads. I left him the car and he called back with good news. No need for new calipers, the rotor can be saved and just need 2 new brake pads. He was honest and his pricing more than fair. He even mentioned he made a mistake and installed 4 brake pads instead of the 2 we agreed upon. He only charged for the 2. I mentioned my experience with Underpass to family who lives in Cape Cod and they were glad and proud of the local service. It would have been easy to be taken advantage under the circumstances. Mike, it was fun chatting it up with you bud. I owe you some good beers.

Our rental car's Check Engine light came on, and since Hertz couldn't find a replacement car for us anywhere on the Cape, I was going to have to ride all the way to Boston in a tow truck and then drive back to Brewster. Some vacation! But Mike at Underpass Auto Repair was a godsend: he helped us out as soon as we arrived, diagnosing the problem right away and clearing it for us. He explained the issue in detail so that we would be comfortable keeping the car for the rest of our trip. And after we had spent a frustrating hour and a half on the phone with Hertz, Mike's friendly, outgoing demeanor restored our mood and allowed us to enjoy our vacation again! 5 stars, 10/10, Two thumbs up!
