Came in as a first time car owner for an inspection. No appointment necessary and I was in and out in 15 minutes. George and his son Dany were so kind and pleasant to talk to, highly recommend if you’re due for an inspection!
It is with reluctance that I write this review Brewster garage isn a very convenient location and the both times they’ve done work for me. It’s been done very quickly unfortunately when I brought it in for a new alternator, they charged me $595 for the alternator alone just the part those are available at Napa for anywhere between 100 & $350. Without the mechanics discount When I questioned the price, George told me ‘I only install the Best equipment’, assuming that’s true $250 is a hell of a markup. labor was charged separate so that was not what the markup was for. I’m disappointed that I will not be able to use their service anymore as I said it was convenient and local, but if they’re willing to do things like overcharge that badly, I can’t trust them with my vehicle. And would recommend that you not either. I have noticed a pattern in the reviews for this business. Reviews for the previous owner were overwhelmingly good the recent reviews not so good. It’s really too bad.
These guys have done work on my Jeep and my trailer and have been trustworthy and fast. They went above and beyond on the last job and I plan to return for any future needs.
No matter what my family has brought to George it has been fixed well and for a fair price by George and his crew. Toyota sienna. ford focus and a ford econoline.
These guys are the best, drove to the cape for a long weekend vacation, and realized my car was making a scary noise. Was able to get the car in right away, they diagnosed it and fixed it within record time. This could have been a real mess, but thanks to them it was a quick fix. Thank you!
Get a written estimate! One and done. Never again.
I brought my 2017 Honda Ridgeline in yesterday at 8:30am for routine scheduled maintenance because I wanted to give the local shop owner the business. I had called Hyannis Honda and they were going to do this complete service for $250.
I printed the work to be done directly from the Honda website - oil/filter change, tire rotation, rear differential fluid change, multi-point inspection.
I showed it to George, he looked it over and asked a few questions - like whether it needed synthetic oil. I asked him when it would be done and about how much would it cost. He said today/tomorrow and $250. It was a hassle to leave the truck for a day, but I thought well, same price, so I'll keep the business local.
The truck was finally ready for pickup today at 3pm (why did I leave it yesterday at 8:30 I wondered?).
When I picked the truck up he told me he couldn't do the differential because he doesn't have the fluid (now he tells me?). So, I have to now go to Hyannis anyway. And, it gets worse.
He tells me he gave me a break for the inconvenience. I get the bill and it's for $338!?! He then says that the multi-point inspection itself was $250, not the entire list of services that he reviewed before he told me $250. WHAT??? But, he tells me, I cut it to $150 because he couldn't do the differential fluid. I obviously complain and explain, again, what he had told me yesterday. He repeats that the $250 quote was just for the multi-point inspection, but cuts another $50 from the bill.
So, now I'm out $288, was without the truck for nearly two days and I still have to go to Hyannis and pay another $140 for the differential fluid change. Instead of going to Hyannis Honda from the start and paying $250, I'll now be out over $425.
The capper? I get in the truck and the maintenance reminder screen is still on and it takes him another 10 minutes to get it to turn off. And, the tires are not at the same PSI, as you would expect after checking everything and rotating them. Frankly, I don't know how confident I should be that any work was done.
It's really a shame, because I saw the glowing reviews here and wanted to have a "local guy". Nope, never again.
Brought in a truck that had been off the road for over a year, needed extensive work. The owner was awesome in working with me to get it up and running again. Fair pricing, excellent and quick work. I would recommend this shop for any car repairs - major or minor.
Unable to change tyranny fluid because they don't have a pump to put fluid in.I usually do this myself. Not difficult. Just easier to do with a car lift. So So I guess I am always the fallback.
We were on vacation and had an emergency issue come up with our vehicle. The owner immediately came out and hopped in the vehicle for a test drive and then put the vehicle on the lift and immediately diagnosed the issue. We had to wait 24 hours because of parts needing to be delivered but the work was done promptly and the owner was very informative of what was going on with our vehicle.
George and his son were so helpful! They were so nice and fixed my car promptly. Their prices were very reasonable, especially for the Cape. I will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!
We drove to the Cape from Minnesota. Along the way, one of our headlights burned out. I found this place on Google, and it lives up to the stellar reviews! George took care of us quickly and at a great value. This is how business should work - George committed to getting it done quickly, and he met his commitment! He is obvious trusted by many locals as I observed two other customers check out very happily just before me. I highly recommend Brewster Service Center!
Steve was the only person I would trust to work on my car. Now that he's retired and sold the shop I'm happy that we got George. He's just as kind and fair as Steve was. Shop is in good hands.
I pulled into the station unannounced on Friday morning in the 90 degree heat. My front bumper was dislocated and the owner came right out, and attached it well enough for me to get off Cape and go to my body shop. He did this in about 20 minutes and reminded me to get it looked at when I got home. I truly appreciate his help and will definitely be using him when I move to Brewster full time.
We were on vacation and our battery light began to flash. We made it back to our room and called aaa who came out and tested our battery and alternator and said they were fine, but the battery cable was lose and needed to be tightened. My hubby made the trip to the closest shop first thing the next morning and asked the owner if he could please tighten the connection so we weren’t stranded with our kids (it was check out day) hours away from home. He claimed he didn’t have time and said he could come back Tuesday. Luckily the hubby was able to make it to Marshalls Mechanics in Orleans who took the five minutes to tighten it for him. I do not recommend this business, that’s not how you treat people!!!!!!!!!
George replaced the front brakes on my Jeep Cherokee. The job was done right the first time, quickly, and priced fairly. I highly recommend this service station!
Brought our car in three times with the new owner. Had oil changed and had tire problems fixed. Each time quick, well done and reasonably priced. Very satisfied. We'll miss Steve, of course. But the place is now clean, neat and well-organized. George knows what he's doing. So pleased that the shop is in trustworthy hands!
I was visiting from CT and had issues with my AC. Steve gave me an honest diagnosis and explanation of what to look for when I return home for a full repair. Good people and I’d absolutely return.
We are from derry nh, my family had broken down on the highway in Brewster mass, so very thankful for Brewster service center they had fixed our car in no time flat!!! I would highly recommend them if you need them, wonderful down to earth and helpful and had us on our way quick!!! Thank you Brewster service center!!!!!
