Customer service was great. There was a lady who was quite pleasant in offering help and looking for my part. However, they didn't have the part I needed. I would have paid more for it right then because I wanted to do it today as long as the price was reasonable. But it would have cost more than double to have them get the part for me versus ordering online with 2-day shipping.

Deidra was very helpful as well as the rest of the staff that was there. They helped me jump my car and told me the status of my battery. There was only a couple people infront of me so the wait time wasn’t long at all and when it was my turn to be helped they treated me well and we even shared some laughs together. Overall great experience.

On January 21, 2025, at approximately 5:15 PM, I visited Advance Auto Parts Store #8981 to address a defective battery I had purchased a year earlier, still under warranty. What should have been a straightforward transaction turned into a frustrating and deeply unprofessional experience that requires immediate attention. Upon entering the store, I spoke with a young Hispanic employee, providing her with my vehicle information. She identified two battery options for my vehicle: the 86-1 (OE option) and the 26-3. I requested the 86-1, but she returned from the back claiming it was out of stock, despite the system showing two available. As I began purchasing the second option, the manager, Diedre, overheard the conversation, investigated further, and located the 86-1 battery in stock. I proceeded with the purchase. Due to the battery’s location in the wheel well and the frigid conditions outside, I opted to have it installed at a nearby Exxon gas station at my own expense ($40), despite your store offering free installation. After the installation, I returned at approximately 6:40 PM with the defective battery and met an employee named Mamadou. I explained the situation and asked for assistance locating the original transaction to process a refund under the warranty. Unfortunately, Mamadou seemed unsure of how to retrieve the transaction and enlisted the help of the same young Hispanic employee. After multiple attempts, she informed me I needed to speak with the manager. Frustrated but resigned, I decided to forgo the warranty claim and requested my core charge refund instead. As she processed the refund, she asked me to insert my card. I informed her curtly that I had paid in cash. At this point, she began debating the payment method with me, refusing to verify the details in the system. When I insisted that she confirm my payment method, she shockingly told me, “It’s not my job,” followed by “Shut up!” This was an appalling display of unprofessionalism and outright disrespect. Her dismissive and rude behavior escalated the situation unnecessarily, leaving me infuriated. I confronted her about her attitude and lack of basic customer service skills. Later, at around 7:45 PM, I returned to the store to collect receipts for my records before writing this complaint. When I asked Mamadou for the employee’s name, he outright refused to provide it, further compounding my frustration. This incident reflects extremely poorly on Advance Auto Parts. The behavior I experienced from your staff—particularly the young woman—is unacceptable. Customers should not be met with incompetence, resistance, and outright rudeness, especially when seeking assistance with warranty claims for products purchased from your store. I demand that this issue be addressed immediately. I expect management to follow up with me to resolve this matter, including reimbursement for the costs I incurred due to your employees’ failure to provide adequate service. Additionally, I urge you to provide better training for your staff to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future. I look forward to your prompt response.

I deleted my prior review to update my experience from a second visit I had at this location today. I added the old one as a attachment. The prior one was the cashier not allowing me to use my miliary discount even though I had my ID with my status on it. I found out this was not true as the website states the discount program is as active as it always been. The store owner/manager replied saying it was addressed. However my last visit revealed the employee is purposely doing this. I went into this store again only due to the Autozone nearby not having the turn light blubs I needed for my car in stock. I got pulled over by the police Friday evening and got a warning to address it. I didn't want to risk a ticket driving further then the local Greenbelt area to another car parts store chain. The guy at the door greeted me and ask if I needed help and told me the aisle for bulbs and if I needed it on the right one. Great customer service. The woman was the same one I interacted with 3 weeks ago and still claimed your store does not do military discounts. This time however I had the page up on my phone showing on the website that your business does honor it. She tried to claim that *this* specific store does not honor it but caught herself as this time her coworker was on the floor and I would've certainly asked him if that was true or not. She "figured" it out to press the "Military Discount" tab on the screen. Manager/Owner reading this: I did leave my feedback from my receipt code to have this offically noted. You stated before that your "leadership team" was made aware of my issue beforeso at this point this was a intended behavior on the employee part to discriminate against me on something I provided twice the proper documentation on my eligibility for. I can not be the only person who came into this location as a current or former Armed Force member. While the take off amount was nominal, it's the principle. It was very disgraceful to have my intelligence insulted twice by the same employee. From the other instances of going to your chain at other locations and even this one a few years ago, I never had any issues with getting my discount applied to my order until I dealt with this employee. Needless to say, I will never set foot back at this location again.

Horrible customer service. I went yesterday at 2pm for a bulb for my headlight. The guy who helped, young and respectful, looked up my make and model and went and got the bulb for me. I went home and the bulb did not fit, was the wrong size all together. I went back today, spoke to a older man at the register who refused a refund because the package was opened. He told me I probably provided the wrong information and and he wanted me to go get my old bulb so he can see it. Since the product was open, he couldn't sell it in HIS store therefore no refund, even though they have a 30 day refund policy, which I questioned and he agreed to knowing about.

Night shift was extremely helpful. It was clear that they knew what they were talking about and weren't in a rush at all. They knew what they were doing. I would recommend this place, they earned a loyal customer.

horrible service seems like no one wants to do there jobs went to exchange my failing battery short haired lady at the front desk said i couldn’t do it even doe i have 6 months on my warranty left when they tested my battery they said it was fine younger employee offered to charge it for me for later the manager came outside and said they couldn’t do that then began to rant about how i had a cheap battery and that it was my fault for cheeping out on a 220 dollar battery

Excellent customer service! For a dead battery, they had me park right in front, checked the battery on my request, and changed my battery and even the wipers I bought from them quickly and efficiently, all with a fantastic attitude and great customer service.

Charly is the best! He helped my son and I avoid getting the wrong parts for his old SUV. He took time to explain why one part was different from what we were told we needed. I was standing to the side, looking up the recommendations for the truck, and realized Charly was right! He even spoke briefly to the mechanic. Although, we weren't in the store long, Charly's professionalism and knowledge was invaluable and merited this written appreciation.

Looking to purchase lamps for my headlights. I could not locate the manual that illustrated the model number my car required. I asked for assistance at the desk, and the gentleman explained the information is in their computer, and books are no longer available. I was l Iiving in the past.... The gentleman referenced my lamp, lead me to it, and explained the different "strengths" available. I made the purchase, and left to execute the installation that was quick and flawless. I then performed a lamp inspection and saw I also had a another light that was out. I returned to the shop, the same gentleman assisted me, and remembered my vehicle information. I took the burned-out lamp with me, but asked for a park light. He explained the referenced lamp was different. I explained the lamp function/position and he informed me it was a taillight, not a park-light. He referenced the taillight and lead me to it. I made the purchase. He jokingly asked if I needed new wiper blades. Long story short, I could not have made either purchase without the gentleman's fine assistance. I thanked him and stated his service and conversation will make me a return customer as needed.

I went in looking for tag brackets and found that and everything else I forgot I needed. Staff was super helpful, the store was very organized and clean. The cashier was super friendly and very nice looking :)

Excellent service. My battery was completely dead and the gentleman that helped me was very nice, told me to wait inside while he replaced the battery as it was raining, and then watched to make sure I was able to drive away ok.

Recently I bought a car battery and they gave me one (they said the last one) without a handle or carrying strap, even though the battery has two slits for that provision. Also the battery didn't have any mark or sticker of the manufacturing or selling date which is important for the waranty. The selling clerk simply said:"We don't have it!". It was so unprofessional!
