I am compelled to formally document my deeply unsatisfactory experience with Noel, the Branch Manager at the Greenbelt location. The interaction was marked by unprofessional conduct, inconsistent communication, and a lack of customer-centered accountability. I initially purchased a vehicle battery with the expectation of immediate installation. After inspection, I was informed that the installation required a procedure outside the store’s technical capability. This was entirely understandable and professionally communicated by staff. However, when I inquired whether an external technician would agree to install a battery not purchased directly from them—given the common warranty limitations associated with battery installations—Noel asserted with certainty that this would not be an issue. Relying on that assurance, I proceeded to visit three separate service providers, including Jiffy Lube, all of whom confirmed that they only install batteries purchased directly from their own establishments due to warranty liability policies. This directly contradicted the guidance provided to me. Upon returning to request a refund, Noel redirected me yet again—suggesting I visit or call a Shell station across the street—rather than addressing the matter decisively. After approximately three hours spent attempting to resolve an issue that originated from inaccurate guidance, the response I received was dismissive and indifferent. The situation further deteriorated during the refund process. Noel initially stated that he would not refund the core charge, despite it being clearly itemized on my receipt. Only after I presented proof of the transaction through my bank records did he proceed with processing a refund—yet the amount refunded was still less than the total paid. During this interaction, he walked away mid-conversation with the battery, returned, and instructed me to contact customer service myself to recover the remaining balance. This level of service is unacceptable for any retail establishment, particularly from a branch manager whose responsibility includes ensuring procedural accuracy, transparency, and professional conduct. The interaction lacked ownership, accountability, and basic courtesy. Customers do not expect favors—they expect competent service, accurate information, and professional engagement. Unfortunately, this experience reflected none of those standards.

This is the worst coustmer service I have ever experienced. My check engine was on so I went there for a check then in the middle of the parking lot my car stopped working I went there and told the worker to please help me and he said we have no responsibility of jump starting your car. After I told him the situation he told me that it was charging then made me wait for 40 mins. There were also two girls who told me someone took the battery checking machine even though they had another one. I wasted an hour just for him to tell me to start my car and let it charge. They are really rude and disrespectful. What a shame.

This store is a joke. I waited in line for over twenty minutes just to purchase paint. When I finally reached the counter, the staff informed me they could not locate the key to the locked cage where the paint is stored.

OMG, Myker is my life saver. My cars battery was acting up, I came in and he greeted me nicely and helped me choose the correct battery for me, he then went and installed it for me in the freezing weather. 10/10 service from him

Staff was very helpful finding what I needed and took their personal time to help me test 2 alternators to see if they were good or bad before I sent them out as broken.

Myker is a great guy with helping out, I came in with my car with many troubles without knowing what was wrong, he quickly figured out that it was my maf sensor that was unplugged, and changed my battery in under 20 minutes.

Went into the store to get some car detailing materials. When I went to pay, I stood in line at cash register. Nobody else in line, just me, and I stood there for five minutes waiting while everyone was on their cell phones. Couple people looked up at me and then went back to their cell phones. I put the items back and left the store. Not coming back to this store.

Just had the BEST experience! I have to give a huge shoutout to Herbert!! He is exactly the person you want helping you with your car. He’s helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and you can truly tell he loves what he does. He went above and beyond for us and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. Because of him, we’ll only be going to the Greenbelt location. Herbert, thank you for everything you made the whole process so easy, and we appreciate you more than you know!

Myker was a great guy he changed my battery in cold weather and then it even started to drizzle a little, he was even able to figure out that the reason my battery kept dying was because i had a open connection onto the battery. GREAT GUY. HE KNOWS HES STUFF

Came here to purchase Freon the total $39 and some change I said keep the change and asked for my receipt but she pocketed the $40 and said the printer isn’t working. Turns out the gauge on it is broken so I’m here at a store near my home trying to exchange it and they are saying they can’t process a refund without a receipt. I tried calling the corporate number on the window but got a busy line. This is unacceptable and terrible customer service. I’m out $40 and still don’t have cold air

I purchased windshield wipers and the store Manager, Cristian installed them for me. He had to try different clamps because the new clamps which came with the wipers did not fit. Cristian was very heloful, friendly and patient. I recommend this store due to the excellent customer service.

I received the best customer service at this location. The salesperson KJ was very insightful about what I needed to get my vehicle back up and running. All of the parts were not available at their location but she located and sent me in the right direction to get everything I needed. I will be returning here in the future for more purchases. I had an exceptional experience at the AutoZone in Greenbelt, Maryland on March 1st, and I can't say enough about the outstanding customer service I received. As soon as I entered the store, I was greeted with a warm smile by Herbert, who immediately asked how he could assist me. I was looking for a light bulb for my indicator, but I wasn’t sure of the size or type. Herbert went above and beyond to ensure I got exactly what I needed. Rather than simply directing me to the shelves, he kindly walked outside with me to my vehicle to personally assess the issue. He explained what might be wrong and confirmed that my headlights needed two bulbs, not just one. Once we identified the correct bulbs, Herbert not only found them for me but also offered to install them on the spot. As someone who doesn’t know much about cars, I was incredibly grateful for his helpfulness and the extra effort he put in to make sure everything was taken care of. I truly appreciate the kindness and attention Herbert gave me, especially since I know it was a busy day at the store. His patience and thoughtful service made a world of difference, and I will definitely remember him for his generosity and professionalism. I also ended up buying an air freshener for my car to add a little special touch, all thanks to the wonderful experience! My car has been having problems starting for 2 months, and I have always needed to jumpstart it. I went to AutoZone to get it checked, but it did not yield any solutions when I came to this location and was helped by Herbert. Herbert came out and assessed the battery to be faulty and took measures to fix my issue quickly through my warranty. I owe him a debt of gratitude as he made my experience fantastic. I will be sure to visit this location if I ever have any questions about my car. Thank you Herbert!

I will never go to this location again. My first time going there, they gave me wrong order that I had to return. My second time was the last straw their customer service suck 😒 my car was cutting off while driving on the road and I asked them to help me check the battery because I bought the battery from them in July, Nobody was able to help me in this store, there manager was there. I had to walk out of theire with no assistant from them. I ask them to help me use their diagnostic machine to make sure it's not the battery. I had to walk out of there.

First of all the lazy African guy with glasses was the rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever seen. I came in at 5:40 pm for them to help me uninstall my car battery and he said no we can't do it because it's busy and they need to clean the store, mind you I was the only one in there and the store was organized. He just lost a customer that was trying to get at least a $200 car battery. Their loss I guess, won't be returning!!

I was having a rough day trying to get my cars battery looked at. The employees at another AutoZone in the area were lazy & not helpful AT ALL!!! The employee that assisted me at the Greenbelt location, Herbert, was THE BEST EVER!!! Not only did he go out of his way to take my battery out, the battery was giving him some trouble due to its age, he also was soooo informative & engaged with his work. He then carried the battery in the store, checked the charge on it, he recommended a new battery!! He made my situation so much better & really cared about the outcome of his work. If I ever need anything with my car or anyone else's car, I will always recommend this AutoZone & to work with Herbert!!! He's only there on Sundays, so catch him if you can!! AutoZone is lucky to have such a dedicated & emphatic employee!!!!!

The folks who work here are always extremely helpful. I recently had a dead battery and after getting a jump brought it here for testing. It failed the crank test and I needed a replacement. The cost was very reasonable and they installed the new one for free, even taking the time to clean off the contacts and caked-on residue from the bracket. 10/10 will come back again and again.

I had a slight battery issue in a parking lot near this Auto Zone store on Sunday, June 23rd. I went in for advise. The clerk came out to my car, checked things out. I was prepared to buy a new battery. He put on a couple of testing boxes and the batt. showed dead. We cleaned off a pretty clean terminal, hooked to the jumper box and the car fired right up. He did everything he could and I did not need a new battery. When i do need one, I will return on a Sunday and buy a battery from that employee, who only works part time on Sundays there. He went outta his way to help me. A big thumbs up to Auto Zone and the guy who did a great service!! Thank you!!!

Anthony T. Deserves to be rewarded by Autozone as an exemplary employee. His tenacity, care and faculties in automotive care exceeded my expectations. I will certainly go out of my way to return to this specific Autozone so long as I am attended by Anthony. He even took the opportunity to give tips to a younger employee. It is odd to find this level of care among big companies. Anthony’s 5-star service should be celebrated and duplicated.
