Best mechanic I've ever gone to! They are honest (never upselling), fast, reliable, and kind, and they charge such reasonable prices. Can't recommend them enough, especially if you're a woman looking for a trustworthy mechanic that won't take advantage of you. This place is a gem!!

I had a slow leak in a tire that I had gotten patched multiple times at another shop down in VA, so I was convinced I would need a replacement when I took it here. However, they removed a nail that I guess the other place missed and plugged it and I haven’t had a problem with it since! Trustworthy, agreeable prices, quick service, and kind help. Thanks again!

My car was making a fun clanking/rattling noise, so I called to see if they could take a look. Dropped my car off on Tuesday evening, and had it back, running smoothly, by lunchtime Wednesday, for under $100! Thankfully it was a quick and easy fix, and this shop provided quick, easy, reasonable service. Highly recommend!

I have been impressed with this place since I found it. I originally was looking for an oil change and was charged significantly less than any of the major chains wanted to charge. After my car was broken into, they fixed the window for a fraction of what other places wanted to charge, and went way above and beyond in service. It feels great to patronize a business that is so honest, customer service oriented, and not a major chain. I would recommend them to anyone!
The wife at the front desk is very dishonest. I called and told her about 3 times that i needed repairs on my vehicle and that I had some of my own parts. She told me to come in at 1pm. I was delayed by and kept calling and talking to her and told her the tow would arrive at 2pm and she said it was fine to bring it in. Upon arrival she told me she was not sure if anyone could look at it or what time because I was late. She also told her husband that I did not inform her that I already had my parts. Her husband who is also a mechanic complained and fussed at me and said he could not make any money if I brought my own parts. He said, Why didn't you tell my wife. When he spoke to his wife in my presence she looked afraid and said, She did not tell me. She lied right in my face. Then he tried to jack up the price for the repairs to compensate for not getting marked up prices for the parts. I expressed my concerns, so he grudgingly lowered the price. He and another mechanic inspected my trudk told me they could do the repairs, they both inspected the parts I purchased, After I get home they call me and tell me my part was wrong, completed the repairs they wanted to repair. Then told me my bill. The major problem was not corrected. They told me my transmission was shot and I had to pay $2100 if I wanted them to fix it. That my car would not drive forward or in reverse, I know I needed a transmission sensor, but not a transmission. So I told them I was going to come get my car and pay for the work they did. Even though they lied and tried to talk me into leaving the truck and that it would not drive, I insisted they give me my keys, and I drove it home. I did not have a good experience. Im sure when they see my post they will have a lie to cover up what they did. The wife is a smiling fake piece of work. The poor mechanic they had working for them just agreed with everything they said. NOT RECOMMENDED.they charged me 600 bucks, put muffler and brake line in my truck, then told me it would not drive because the transmission was shot. I drove it home and left very dissapointed. Crooks.
I've taken my car here, as well as my mother's car, so I've been several times. They have been honest and quick when it comes to repairs - which amazes me because their lot always seems full! I've never had to take my car back because it wasn't fixed properly. They always do a great job and take the time to explain things to me. It's very much appreciated. And when I say they're honest.. I mean it. So far, so good. There have been many opportunities for dishonesty, but they're always upfront with me. They're great, and have always been kind to me.
Place isn’t much to look at, but don’t let that fool you. Kit and team are polite, honest and and charge fair prices. Showed up in the morning, got an estimate in 20 min and they fixed my exhaust same day. Even better, they don’t mind if you bring your own parts.
Great people, great service. They have always been responsive, fast, and reliable. For example, I called them 2 hours before close on a Saturday because my brakes started making a terrible grinding sound. I told them I really needed my car for the rest of the weekend, and they happily accommodated -- even though they had to stay open late to make it happen.
Kit is terrific--so honest and fair and helpful. Didn't charge us for a new belt because it ended up not being the problem. That is great customer service! It is good to be someone who stands behind his work--
I have been going here for years. I trust them with my vehicle. They aren't the cheapest, but they are very fair and the work is as good as you would get anywhere else. They have turned me away when I was making up problems with my car (I'm sure the competition would have found something to charge me for). They help me prioritize what to work on now vs. what can wait until later. Add to that, the honors are pleasant and straightforward.
The shop isn't pristine and there is no website. That's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. It's honestly the only critique I could think of. I will continue using their services so long as I live in the area.
Very honest repair shop. I have taken several cars to them over the years. They offered a true assessment of the problem, offered a very reasonable rate to fix, and were honest when there were problems they could not fix. Would definitely recommend to others! Terrific "mom and pop" like service-- a breath of fresh air these days.
Old Town Auto Services is the most honest and helpful auto mechanic I've ever had. Several times, when I thought my car had a serious problem -- and they would have had no difficulty persuading me of that and charging me accordingly -- they pointed out the problem was far less serious, and charged accordingly. They are polite, prompt, meet their time and dollar estimates, and I recommend them to anyone.
I can't believe anyone would think Mr. Kit's shop would ever cheat anyone. This is the most honest, most accomodating repair shop I've ever been to. I have an old car that I'm trying to keep alive, and Mr. Kit treats me like I had a Jaguar.
