I’m a Germantown resident and have brought my cars to this shop multiple times over the years for various maintenance and repairs. Their prices are fair, they’re trustworthy, and they consistently provide great customer service. I highly recommend them.
The customer service was good. I didn't need no work done to my car. I was going to fill the application out for tow. Truck but I kinda had a feeling that they was not going to get back to me. So I kinda drove all the way down there for nothing. I seen a craigslist ad when they need a tote truck driver. But I realized that they were not going to hire me once I got down there
10/10 would recommend bringing your cars here for service. They took care of me last week on last minute. I had a flat tire and I was across the street from them. I took my car over there. They put the donut on there. OK they also ordered the tire for me when I could not get access to it and installed it the next day.
Took my car into Werking Automotive after a pulley failed and my belt kept slipping off. Paul addressed the issue I was having, replacing only the needed components, and at a fair price. Could have up-sold and told me other related parts needed to be changed as well, but did not. I was impressed and pleased that they did the work that the car came in for and did not try to overcharge and tack on additional work, as the shop I previously used began doing. 10/10, will be using Werking Automotive for future needs.

Their quotes are transparent. However, realize that labor may be more or less depending on the complexity of the repair. This compares to my family autobody shop in KY with well appreciated southern hospitality.

I am a 72 yr old widow, I have a 1996 Chevy Tahoe & 2000 Lincoln Town car, the truck was my deceased husbands and my car was my 50th b-day present, both were first brand new vehicles we ever owned. For 20 plus years we have been to many dealerships and private auto service. Before the pandemic I was having problems with both vehicles (not interested in purchasing new/used auto) I was being nickle and dimed like crazy and no one could find the problems. I remembered using Werking Auto back in the 80 for several old cars we had and was satisfied with the service. I ran back to them and it's been over a year and the issues I had were taken care of, PRICE is very reasonable. Dr. Werking in my auto clinic. However, if you looking for bells and whistles to go off when you walk thru the door, if you looking to sit and have a conversation about ur great-grandma, or ur story about (my 3 young children I adopted) this is not the place to go. But if you want polite "what can I do for you" and have your vehicles diagnosed and fixed properly, this is where you want to go! 10 plus stars for me!
This place was recommended by my tow truck driver, which was a first for me. Had my car towed there and we worked to try to get me a new engine. Logistics are weird now so we couldn’t find one. However Paul’s price was $4000 LESS than the dealership. And when the Maryland Attorney general took my case (against dealership) I had car towed back home. No charges, no fights. I will absolutely go back to Paul and company again once the company fixes the car and for any needs with my other car. Bottom line very nice, honest, did not try to take me over the financial coals.
It took 3 years but what I thought was good work wasn't. I had a coolant leak 3 years ago and I took it to Werking for repair. They initially fixed my leak until recently. My coolant started leaking again so I took it to the local dealership. Come to find out the work done at Werking was shoddy. They put too much sealant on and it never cured. There was so much leaking coolant that it was literally everywhere in the engine. My whole engine had to be cleaned out due to the leak from Werking's mistake. Thanks for costing me thousands in repair. I WOULD NOT recommend taking your car here for repair unless you want to spend even more money down the line to fix their mistakes!
My whole family goes to Paul at Werking Auto. We have never had a single problem with them. No one can beat the prices and he gets things done quickly and done properly. I tell everyone to go to Werking Automotive for their car problems.
I've been to many mechanic shops and was never a satisfied customer until I came to Werkings Automotive. Very professional people and very honest. They will not pressure you into any service and are one of the best in the business. Regardless of where you reside in Montgomery County. This is the place you want to take your vehicle to. If you have a long distance drive believe me it'll be worth it.
Took in a 1999 Mercedes E320. Due to an injury the car sat undriven for about three years. The crew at Werking checked the car over completely, made the necessary repairs and the car now runs and drives like a dream. Throughout the entire process they kept me informed of what they thought was needed, how much it would cost and were very professional. This was the first time I used them but will now make them my go to shop for any future work needed . Highly recommend !
They offer great honest customer service and reasonable pricing. Im willing to drive 40 miles one way to have them work on my vehicles. That's how good they are and how much I trust them.

Family owned business that takes care of its customers. I should know, I’m in the family. Most fair prices around and very honest in the work you NEED. That means not ripping off customers by tacking on work that they DO NOT need like I’ve heard from other places. Only negative is that Werking Auto is always slammed packed so sometimes it’s hard to get in and out. Highly recommended although I’m biased.
The people who work here are unprofessional when it comes to towing. Don't let the positive ratings fool you. I called them last week to tow my car from the scene of an accident and they ran my bumper over with my car when loading it onto the tow bed. The bumper was still on the car and it was pulled under and torn off because of the towtruck operators carelessness. Spoke with the manager about the incident and she said "There's no evidence, you can take this to court if you'd like.". Maybe you should teach your employees integrity instead of giving your customers ultimatums. Never working with this business again.
What HONESTY, integrity and professionalism! I never expected to find those qualities in a car repair business. Very reasonable prices to blow your mind, quality service and Werking Automotive will never try to rob you. Paul won't even charge for insignificant service that did not require much time and labor. Incredible! A rarity in this industry - pretty much a gem.

I live in Germantown and have used this shop several times for assorted maintenance and repairs on my 2004 Acura MDX. They have good rates, are honest, and take excellent care of their customers. I recommend them highly.
This shop was fantastic. I went up the street to a different one and received an estimate that left me speechless. Werking quoted me an appropriate price, talked with me on the phone about the issue, and scheduled me an appointment last minute. Had my car in at 0830 and out by 1400. Will be returning.
My husband's 14 year old Ford Ranger pickup failed it's emission test this year. He took it to another local shop and they wanted almost $200 just to open the hood! He then remembered seeing this shop and took it there. It was late in the day so he left it. They called the next day with a price of less then $200, he approved the work and it was done in about an hour. We couldn't be more pleased. Friendly, fast, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced, what more could you want! Werking Automotive is our new "go to" auto/truck mechanics.
Went there once to have shocks installed. They did it quick, within the estimated time frame, and gave a reasonable price. The also said I didn't need brakes. That says a lot.
I brought my Hundai and my son's Chrysler to Werking Automotive and have been true to this auto repair for 10 years. The employees are knowledgeable, honest and use their time wisely when making necessary repairs. I feel comfortable with the quotes and go ahead with the repairs without question or checking prices from other repair shops. There were times when they let me know if a repair needed to be done right away or ok to wait with a reasonable amount of time. The dealer used some scare tactics and the price was much higher than Werking Automotive. So, you can bet I used Werking Automotive to do the repairs. I would recommend Werking Automotive to any individual needing an honest and very reasonable Automotive Repair (especially those not familiar with how auto electronics work).
Tow truck driver, Chris, showed up in less than 10 minutes for AAA auto tow/repair call. Turned out the engine was flooded -- a Doh! moment. I appreciate the driver did not exploit my stupidity to tow the car in, get it diagnosed, etc.
That's integrity. That's quality service. I will certainly consider the place for my next scheduled maintenance or any genuine repair that needs to be done.
