Took the vehicle in to have the transmission rebuilt paid $4300.00 and on the way home it failed. I would take it back and have them fix what they broke but at this point my vehicle was down for 4 weeks and barely got a call to give me updates. Now I’m going to the ford dealer to pay an insane amount for a new transmission but atleast I’ll be updated and most importantly it’ll be fixed correctly. I wouldn’t waste your time and hard earned money with this company if you can help it. If I could do it again I’d never would have walked through that door. Terrible business ethics

Took my F-150 to this place to have the oil pan replaced and it was. I went the Ford service center for an unrelated issue and during their inspection they found that the oil pan was leaking. I contacted Joppa Transmission to inform them of the findings. I was told to bring my vehicle back to them to address the issue. I did as instructed. When I picked up my vehicle I was told they resealed the oil pan and it should be good, it wasn't. Another inspection by the Ford service center revealed the oil pan was still leaking. I went to the service center, while the truck was on the lift to visually confirm it was leaking. I also took a photo. I contacted Joppa Transmission to voice my dissatisfaction with the work done on my vehicle, and to get a resolution. I was told to bring my vehicle back to them. Never mind the fact I've been without my vehicle because of this back and forth. I'm not happy with today's vehicle repair shops, they really don't care about their customers. Some customers had a good experience with this company and some hadn't. Mine is the latter!

Let me first say that this shop is the best in harford county hands down. I had my 99 dodge dakota at a different shop for 3 months and they couldn't find the problem, took it there and the tech figured it out in about 3 days. Then I had my honda there and I've been outta work cos I got hurt on the job and they were true to there word and worked with me. Don't sleep on this shop from the owner to the tech that worked on my cars they are the best.!!

Always an honest repair! I have brought my car here 4 times with a ‘Jones Junction’ suggested repair. Joppa transmission and auto repair will review the suggestions and give me their honest opinion. Saved me thousands so far.

Just found this place. Took my truck in for routine service. They are very knowledgeable and very thourough. Customer service is very good and their pricing is fair. In my case, they didn't do some things I asked for because I didn't need it. They called and explained it and saved me money they could have charged me for. Very impressed and I will go back.

I've been getting my vehicle serviced here for the past few months since I've moved to the area. I haven't had any complaints. The staff is always generous. The waiting area is very clean and comfortable!

Joppa Transmission is Great. If you have questions, they will take the time and explain things to you. I've been using them for about a year now. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my Jeep Trailhawk. Lee recently did a repair for me and said that he probably wouldn't get to it until Wednesday afternoon. He called me Wednesday afternoon and it was already done and ready. I wasn't expecting to get it until maybe Friday. They are also open half a day on Saturdays which helps. LOVE THIS PLACE. 😎😎

The mechanics there have always been honest and helpful. They don't hesitate to answer questions and they will work with you to get the work done.

I had a great experience! My car was repaired fast and properly, it feels brand new. I definitely will be back for all of my maintenance and repairs!

Great place especially for older cars. I have had older Isuzu fixed here several times with great results. Experienced, quick, professional service without high prices. Highly recommend as this is my go to place for my vehicles now.

One of the best shops around! I needed an emergency clutch replacement and Joppa Transmission took care of it no problem. Excellent customer service from Leo and Clay, fair prices, and got my car back faster than expected. 100% recommend and will be a return customer!

Got off work break pedal touching the floor … tried to drive up the street and the break light came on … after that the low break fluid light came on.. took it to route 24 auto.. they wouldn’t help … went down Philadelphia turned on Joppa got back on 40 and seen these guys … went in at 340 got done and back on the road bout 445.. these guys are amazing

I just took my car here for the first time. I was in need of a routine transmission fluid change based on my mileage. They were very welcoming and helpful. They had my car ready to go in less than an hour and were super nice about staying a few minutes late for me when my Uber was late picking me up. They gave me a printout of their services for future visits but they were not in anyway pushy about selling more services. I will definitely be bringing my car back here in the future.

Super nice folks. I was just driving by with my Cat Gatsby in the car and my the AC stopped working. This shop was about to close when I requested them to look at it. Those folks not just looked into it, fixed it and did not charge any money. “It’s my job sir” thats what he said. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

Edit... I have to revise my review. The skid guard came loose again on my way back home. So here I am, at another repair shop, hoping to get it fixed well enough to get me home. I don't feel taken advantage of, but I'm disappointed. I was traveling across the state, when another car hit a traffic cone, throwing it directly in my path. I had to straddle my car over the cone, and in the process it knocked loose the skid guard. I called Joppa transmission, and they told me to bring it in. They reattached the guard, and checked to make sure no other damage had occurred. They had me back on the road in next to no time. They were kind and courteous, and their waiting area was comfortable and immaculate. When you're a world weary cynical woman, you learn to be very wary of contractors and mechanics(the stories I could tell you). The folks at Joppa restored my faith in humanity. Absolutely recommend!

I had one of thee BEST experiences with my vehicle here! So a few months ago my number 8 cylinder went up in my 92 Ford Bronco. A buddy of mine who's a Hartford Co. Sheriff told me about this place, so I decided to give them a shot. I'm particular about who I let touch my vehicle, after some awful experiences in my younger days! But anyways, back to the Bronco....I took it to the shop and only informed them that something was wrong with the engine, and sure enough they came back and told me the exact same thing the Ford dealership told me and what I verified myself before even taking it there....that the number 8 cylinder was blown. The owner took the time to sit with me and figure out what the best option would be, I didn't feel like they were just trying to sell me on something. We came to the conclusion that a new engine from Jasper was the best bang for the buck considering how much I've already put into the truck repairing/replacing/upgrading everything else. The Owner/Manager Brian and Shelly (at the front desk) kept me updated on the status of the engine during the entire process. Once the motor came in they had the old one out and the new one installed in no time! What I truly appreciate more than anything is the extra mile they went! What I mean by that is for example....my radiator fan shroud was cracked, instead of trying to sell me on a new one, they took the time to secure it together so that it holds me over until I can get a new one. Or how they told me about how I'll need to replace some suspension parts when I get the chance, even though they weren't working on the suspension. They even adjusted my stabilizer shocks that I didn't quite have on correctly. Its the small attention to stuff that they didn't have to do, that really sealed the deal for me! They earned a customer for life, and I highly recommend them! Thanks again Joppa! Anthony

After reading reviews about this company and the issues that I had with my vehicle, I thought this place would be the best options for me. Boy Was I Wrong and Extremely Disappointed!!! So, I had my vehicle towed to Joppa Trans and had it diagnosed, and they informed me that I needed a new transmission, and it would cost about 8500.00. I asked if there were any used transmissions available for my vehicle and they said not really. The year make and model was very difficult to find used. I even tried to find a used transmission on my on and it was difficult to find as well. So, I decided to hold off on ordering a new transmission due to the cost. They charged me a diagnostic fee and i had my vehicle towed back home. I did some research and really didn't know what to do. So, I wanted to get a second opinion, so I took my vehicle to this shop around the corner from my house and told them what was wrong. They actually diagnosed my vehicle and found out that the coolant lines for my transmission went bad and was leaking. So, they replaced the lines and put so transmission fluid back in the vehicle and it was good to go. Damn Shame I go to a local small shop, and they actually took the time out to perform a diagnostic on my vehicle. It just goes to show you that you can't always go by reviews. Obviously, Joppa has a good reputation, that's why I choose them to get quality service, but when you have situations like this and these people LIE to you about what's wrong with your vehicle it makes it hard for Hard working people to trust these, Mechanic's. Joppa Trans didn't even Take the time to Fully diagnosed my vehicle. Honestly, I don't believe they even performed a diagnostic on my vehicle, they just went on and told me just buy a new Transmission. If you choose to go here, I STRONGLY recommend you get a second opinion. Or find another business that will actually perform a diagnostic on your vehicle, because these guys may or may not. Fantastic customer service from an honest company. I purchased a SUV from Jones Junction and felt like I was ripped off. Jones Junction did nothing to answer my concerns so I wanted a different opinion. Took the SUV in to Joppa Transmission for a transmission check up and they let me know everything going on with my vehicle. Very hard to find honest mechanics in this day and age. $100 for peace of mind was worth every single penny and they won my future business by how they treated me. 100% recommended.

I did not get to use this business for any work done to my truck, but I had to leave a review for the above and beyond excellent customer service. After 3 weeks of being lied to about warranty work at another shop, I called Joppa Auto and Lee was absolutely awesome. He not only offered to call the warranty company to find out details, but also was willing to help me with quotes and anything else I needed. Very rare to find in this day and age. Lee found out crucial warranty information that I needed to know in 2 hours. Helped me solve my problem. Thank you!

Went to this shop to get a second opinion after the dealership stated my car was leaking coolant and needed a new radiator, water pump, and thermostat. Dealership wanted 3k to do the work. I took it to this shop and I spoke with Brian who looked over my car and advised me that my car was not leaking coolant and that my radiator, thermostat and water pump do not need to replace. They saved me a lot of money and did not try to sell me any parts I did not need. I ended up deciding to just replace the thermostat anyways for 200. Definitely recommend this shop as they are honest and don't try to force you to buy you parts you do not need. I will be bringing my vehicle here for now on. Highly recommended

My experience wasn't good. My new to me truck purchased through Baltimore Autogroup was brought here to do warranty work. A new catalytic converter install. Once the work was completed on my way home 10 miles from this place the pipe connection blew apart on the system they just fixed. I called back and was given " oh well that happens sometimes, just bring it back story" that doesnt just happen. I spent 900.00 bucks for my half of this work. Im not going to bring it back to someone who cant even get 2 pipes to connect. I dont recommend it, if you cant connect an exhaust system or check to see if the muffler is obstructed, then i wouldn't trust a transmission repair here. Hugely dissappointed.

It has been a long time since I was treated as good as I was at Joppa Transmissions. While they had my vehicle I was called several times about my service. They were all very polite and courteous at all times. Will bring my vehicle back next time it needs work. I will also refer Joppa Transmission to my friends.

They were super attentive and honest, we were going to Florida and the transmission was damaged in the electrical part, they fixed it and we can continue our journey! MSI to start! Lee was great to deal with!! So helpful and Honest!! Especially being a technician myself it's always been hard for me to take my vehicles to a shop! So I will tell you I would never hesitate to take my vehicles to Joppa Auto in a heartbeat!! He made me comfortable with everything that my car needed!! I took my car there due to an engine light being on, with a transmission code. They were quick to inform me that the part I needed is covered under warranty from Ford. They didn’t charge me for the diagnostic, which I thought was incredibly nice. 10/10 would recommend them.

****Summer 2020**** Nice staff. They gave me a fair evaluation for my car and were quick with the assessment. I didn't end up actually getting the word done there so I don't know how their work is. My one issue is that in the era of Covid they had signs saying not to enter without a mask on, but then not a single staff member had a mask on.

Great work done quickly. I was there for 3 hours, but I had a lot of things done on my truck. The staff is polite and friendly. The new upgrades to the shop are fantastic and the owner is truly a great guy. His tech Mike went over my truck and made a list of everything that should be done to get my truck in top condition. Lee, the owner, sat with me and discussed the things that should be done immediately and those things which could be done at a later date, to help me work within my budget. Definitely going to return and make this my new mechanic shop!!!!!
