Jermaine, one of the guys here was very informative & personable. Explained the entire protocol/ process with an unexpected level of professionalism……….prices seemed fair & total experience was great considering service industry.

After contacting Potomac Metals in Waldorf, Maryland, I was able to speak with an individual by the name of Jermaine, who was extremely helpful and provided me with information regarding scrap metal rates (best in the area) and would take care of me personally when I arrived.
When I arrived a short time later, Jermaine assisted me as it was the first time dropping Scrap metal there and I was extremely impressed with how the business as a whole and Jermaine were very proficient in the process.
Jermaine personally guided me through the process step-by-step and even presented me with a flyer on future visits and how to get more money from scrap metals around my yard.
I would absolutely recommend Potomac Metals and their professional staff to friends and family.
The place will rip you off if they think that you're gullible and you don't know what you're doing. Every time I go in there it's a totally different story even though I bring the same metal. I used to recycle copper ballasts for light fixtures for 5 to $10 a core. These guys give you five pennies.. looking at the reviews it looks like you have to know somebody to get paid lol I see so many names of employees hahaha who cares if somebody's great. Pay me!

I had a GREAT experience with Potomac Metals in Waldorf, MD today. Jerome was very helpful and friendly. Guided me through the whole process making sure I was paid fairly for the different types of metals I had brought even giving me some advice for my next visit! I would highly recommend Potomac Metals in Waldorf and especially if they are lucky enough to work with Jerome.
Opened up.a little early on the weekend, they quickly got me in and unloaded and back on my way before their normal operating hours. Friendly and great service and quick to help out to get you in and out!

Haven't been to a scrap yard in over 17 years and Jermaine made my experience easy and got me paid!!! He was helpful and explained and walked me through the whole process and his energy was unmatched. I was in and out my only issue was when I left I caught a nail in my tire and had to pay $68 to get a used tire around the corner at Economy Thrift Tires otherwise wouldn't of made it home so the money I got plus $46 out of my pocket didn't help my day so hopefully they can be a little more precautious about nails by the scales over by the gutters they were all over the place. But other then that a great place wish it would've ended better afterwards for me.
I like this place because it's so well set up and organized ! It's very easy to get weighed unload and get paid ! The guys will tell you how to make the most money out of your scrap metal too !
Jermain and Edwin went above and beyond today to help this lost chick. I had what I thought was metal and he informed me how to tell the difference and helped unload a whole trailer full. They informed me of the rewards and every step I needed to take. Awesome customer service and will def be back!!
This was my first time every recycling anything, and when I told Jermaine that I was nervous about the experience, he walked me through it and gave me information every step of the way. He explained all of the items I could recycle in the future and made the process super easy. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to recycle items.
It was my first time visiting any scrap metal yard. I was unaware of the process and was hoping to get some great customer service to show me how the process worked. Jermaine at Potomac Metals, Inc. did not disappoint. He walked me through the entire process and had great customer skills. It was a no stress process. All employees I interacted with were great but Jermaine stood out. I also felt like I got a fair price for the metal I was dropping off. I highly recommend Potomac Metals, Inc. Any metal you have laying around at home, do not just throw it out. Turn it into extra cash. Visit their website and see what they take. They take just about everything metal. You will be surprised......I know I was. I will definitely be doing this again.
I’m in disbelief!! My boyfriend went with some scrap metal that we weighed before we left the house at over 60 lbs. After answering no to the question of if my boyfriend had ever been there before, they weighed our scrap and told him it was less than 20 pounds(!!). Immediately my boyfriend began to protest at which time they asked him his weight, which luckily he had just been weighed at the doctors last week, 252 is his weight and 244 was the weight their scale said. So while arguing with one man another man came and took our bag and dumped it into the bin! When he asked for it back because we were not accepting $36 for less than 20 lbs when we KNOW it weighs more they tried giving us back less than we had before they dumped it without permission. BEWARE!! Their scales aren’t properly calibrated and I would not be surprised if it was no accident. We will not be returning and suggest you be weary trusting them.
Great place! Have been there a couple times and the employees were AWESOME! No wait and if I had a question they don't make the poor little woman feel stupid 4 asking! Keep up the good work guys!
I have been selling to Potomac Metals since 2015. Mark, Eric and the rest of the staff are excellent to work with... I make it policy to document metal sales and have on two occasions over the years needed to correct the order. The first time they paid out for a material I never sold them and the second time they forgot to add a line item in the sale. In both cases it was easy to resolve because I document everything. There is mutual trust between both my business and the staff at this company. I only trust them for providing scrap sales. They're the best!
There must be new management at Potomac metals Because most recently I called and spoke to someone I think his name was Julio and I had a bunch of questions and he was very knowledgeable and help me out tremendously and made me feel good about bringing my scraps in. When I arrived I was met by Eric and he def made my experience seamless. Great customer service there. Will def be making a trip back soon.
Turned in my washer and dryer at the Waldorf location. Simple and easy. Extremely friendly and Greta customer service. Mark was cordial and helpful. He Walked me through the entire process so I can have confidence in going there again. Highly recommend
My son and I took dirty, rusty metal to a place where they were paying us and we got better customer service than most places I've gone to spend money. Didn't get everyone's name but they were all incredibly helpful and friendly. Mark asked me about my truck and told my son and me about a fishing spot near by. Thanks! We've been here on many occasions, fIxing up old houses, and it seems like they take everything metal.
The manager has always been very patient and courteous with us. Very open and honest about weights and prices.
My husband has also used their services with auto parts, and scrap metals. The employees are friendly and always seem in good humor.
As a woman, I have been here alone and felt like I was treated with respect and honesty.
The floor manager older white gentleman has a nasty additude. You can be humble person some people got a problem with your race no matter what. But the rest of those young guys they are good young men. They make the place. Always polite and good additude.
My initial experience with this service was fabulous. I was greeted with a gentleman named Mark. Who walked me through the process to make an account and how to deposit my scrap. He was very thorough with the explanation of the service and super helpful with my next trips, getting me in and out. He’s the reason I come back regardless of prices. I have been going to Potomac Metals, Waldorf MD for years now and recently while my worker was inside another customer went in my truck and stole some equipment out the front seat. Although I was not present at the time, Potomac Metals employee Brett contacted me to advise me of the situation and to contact the authorities. Brett's immediate response to the situation and cooperation was a top factor in my equipment being returned to me within the day. Brett is an outstanding employee and is always very helpful when I have questions and giving great pricing on my scrap metal. Because of Brett's above and beyond customer service I will continue to be a Potomac Metals customer! Thanks Brett!!
