Just left this place and they said over the phone that this certain type of unstripped copper would range from $2 to $3… but when we got there, I asked them what price they were looking at based on the barrels with no response, and we didn’t find out that they were only going to give us $1.80 until we were at the clerk getting paid…they shouldn’t be able to price the copper after they’ve already taken it. They could have priced the copper at $1 per pound and I could have done nothing to stop them…they should put it on the scale separately from their own big pile so that if they give a terrible price (like $1.80) we can decide to just take the copper somewhere else, or just not sell it to them….1/10 experience.
Was higher but after today just lost a loyal customer, one of there employees was very rude and nasty .he threatened to load my metal back on my truck which happened to be over $4000 dollars worth of metal which I'm sure is at least double that for his company .I asked for his boss he said he's not here I'm in charge now .some heated words were exchanged between employee and myself,needless to say that's the the last truckload of metal they'll ever get from me.and not the first time he's done this because when he walked away another customer waiting for me to unload said he always has an attitude every time he comes there.im sure the boss man won't do anything.i usually try to support small local businesses but not them anymore.
Are used to go to this place for years, and then today I randomly went and they could not take my metal because of an issue with my ID. So I loaded my metal back into my car. Went to the next place and it was 22 pounds short of copper. Considering there was only 85 pounds total, 22 pounds is a lot! So when I went back to confront the manager, he flipped out on me and told me if I didn’t leave, he would call the police. So I told him not to worry that I was going to call them myself, because there is no reason at a scrapyard should be robbing their customers.
