I was told I couldn’t dump trash here because my trash was from dc/multiple areas?? With context I work for a roofing company based out of Texas and do small repairs everywhere in Maryland. I live next to this dump probably 7 minutes away and have used them multiple times for my own trash. I think it’s ridiculous to not let me dump trash I have with the company credit card I was provided for such purposes, even if charged as a contractor I should of been able to dump and truck bed of trash?? Person at the scale was really rude
Ist time using the facility. The office person made the explanation of disposing common house trash and cardboard boxes and styrofoam complicated. The trash was separate from the cardboard and styrofoam. First the price was $5 then she went up to $6.50 then $10.00 giving a complicated explanation each time. With much questioning we settled on $5. Given vague instructions to the first station we pulled into an area and Given more vague instructions. Upon leaving given more vague instructions we drove to the entrance trying to locate our last stop. Found that staff person who gave another set of vague instructions on where to dump the cardboard/Styrofoam. Drove up to some cones blocking our path he came to tell us how to make our last dump with great difficulty.
I'm more familiar with PG County's dump on Brownstation Road. Much simpler and easier to use.
The people at the inside booth are very rude and disrespectful to county residents. They need to do an interview cover customer service review and see how rude they are. I wanted to speak to a supervisor and they are just as bad. I plan to reach out to a county manager.to report my encounter.
If you have been mistreated and or disrespected there don't just take it, report them and hopefully things will change for the better
I would not advise, the female staff member on duty has a poor disposition. My wife and I attempted to use the facility. She stated that active duty military personnel cannot use it unless we are residents with drivers license. We explained active duty members are temporary residents to whatever state they are stationed in and offered her the orders. She stated those did not mean anything to her and to return when we have registered our car here or a drivers license. We will report the issue to the base command team for awareness to other service members.
The female clerk was extremely rude. Acted like a child, gave the silent treatment (mind blown that an adult in customer service acts this way) after I had returned with my documents, extremely unprofessional. The price doesn’t match the website, the actual workers earning their paycheck and not sitting at a desk being a nuisance to society are great people, especially the recycler and the traffic directors. Great establishment but 1 star specifically for the rotten cashier.
Ann was rude and unreasonable, she refused to allow me to dump a small lot of trash because I didn’t a utility bill of a promo JUST bought.
If you need to dump trash, be sure to bring a utility bill with your name and address so you don’t WASTE time in line.
Whoever is the woman that accepts the payment is NASTY! Her attitude is atrocious. It was my first time there and I was bringing my items from the renovation and she was unprofessional and nasty. I won’t ever service this location again!
This is a great landfill run by our county government, the employees are usually very helpful and they really know their stuff in terms of what can go in the landfill and what can't.

The service is great, but I didn't understand why it was 2 lines to go into the facility ,and than it went back to one line , on left side to get to the scale. So everyone in the right hand lane had to hope the car or truck would be kind enough to let me get in front of them to get to the scale so we can pay. That was the first time I've ever seen that at the landfill, but it's been at least 8 months, since my last visit. I hope that gets corrected. Sorry I usually don't respond to this stuff, but like I said in the beginning the employee service is on point, but the double line was unexplainable.
Easy to access. The staff at the location was really helpful, Courteous and kind. It was our first visit and the staff assisted in identifying the right places for the recycles.the bins are easy to identify and the wait time is reasonable. Recycle.. Recycle.. Recycle..
So this was my first experience going to my neighborhood landfill and I must say it was a good one very convenient staff were very helpful and professional even during these Harsh Times thumbs up to you guys
Change in opening time by 2 hours and not updated here or posted clearly (possibly not at all) on site. Sat in line for 30 mins got out of line only to be told they were opening in a few minutes.
I had the occasion to visit/use the Charles County Landfill located on Billingsley Road this morning (6 Mar 2018, apx 10:00AM). From the person (lady) on the phone to the gentleman that guided and assisted me with recycling (blue Charles County container), all were OUTSTANDING and PROFESSIONAL. I’ve lived in Charles County for 11-years and this is probably my 8-9 visit to the Landfill and once to the yard waste facility located on Church Road, and I can definitively say the landfill/waste management-recycling services are one of the jewels of the Charles County suite-of-services. The staff and the signage are efficient and helpful! This is a well-managed/well run operation. Again, my thanks!!
Great service, but I wish they were open on Sunday for a period of time. It would definitely bring in more income, and allow the people who worked hard Saturday to accumulate the trash, a Sunday to hual it away.
Closing times during the week needs to be changed to later due to those that work and have to rush to get off to get home and then get there by 4pm...who can manage that living here with the horrible traffic everyday? Sundays are closed so that makes Saturdays an ONLY option to go and if you're not available for that day tgen you have a trash dilemma...pile up until the weekend...It's not very convienent for tax payers to have to be concerned about this type of situation every week...
I think it would prudent for the landfill to have half day hours on Sunday here as more capital can be generated during the quarter that way the extra funds can be allocated for the few man hours that will be required. Also the fee for the tag a bags can be bundled as a package 10 tickets for a flat rate of $11
4 pm closing time Monday thru Thursday is ridiculous!!! This give people that work no time to get off from there jobs and get home to get the things they need to get to the dump! I think this is horrible and the closing times Monday they Friday should change to stay open later. !!
Of all the dumps I've frequented, this landfill is the best. I am always greeted by friendly staff willing to assist. If I happen to arrive after closing hours...I'm certain it's because I've underestimated the time needed to get there on time.
Terrible experience. Every time I go, there is a different fee schedule or hours. I called ahead to make sure what I was bringing was acceptable and when they were closing. I read the website also. But when I drove all the way the landfill, I was turned away because I had a trailer and was not leaving the scale by 4:00 PM WHEN THEY CLOSE AT 5:00!!!. The website says commercial vehicles had to leave by 4:00, but when I got there, the sign at the scale said commercial vehicles OR vehicles towing trailers. You would think with all of the money I pay in taxes, they would hire competent people to update the website and answer the telephones.
