The worst place besides Tim transmission. These 2 companies are completely. This company quoted me one price and drop off time. They were closed on the day of drop off and then quoted me more money the next day I called.
It’s been a month since I got my car back from Clinton Transmission, and I am extremely happy with the results. I have a 2015 Infiniti Q50, and had a P0720 code. It’s an output speed sensor code, but that typically means that the valve body needs to be replaced. The shop recommended that I only do the speed sensor, but for peace of mind, I opted to do both the speed sensor and the valve body as that’s one of the most common issues with this car and if I don’t replace it now, chances are I’d have to replace it in the near future. They replaced the sensors, gaskets, and the Valve body for less than what the dealership was charging for just the valve body, and one month later the car is running smoother than ever before. There were a few delays outside of their control, but they kept me updated and answered all questions I had, and were very patient with me. 10/10 shop, solid trustworthy people, and an amazing experience overall. If you need work done look no further than Clinton Transmissions!!
Transmission Ford Explorer 2016 EXT 4X4. Had transmission lines worked on at JJ's AUTO SHOP in Waldorf, MD. Had to take it back. Transmission not shifting out of first gear. JJ told us we needed a new transmission. We said no to JJ's working on it. Called Clinton Transmission,, things have been great so far.
I found out from my AAA service that my transmission cable cords were loose causing my gears to be stuck in reverse and my car wouldn't start due to the computer not communicating with the gear area...I called Clinton Transmissions after another transmission service were rude and very unhelpful...I spoke with Hailey the front area admin and she professionally listened to my issue and put me on hold to explain to their technician my transmission issue...I was able to get my car towed here and after they serviced my car I found out that my transmission cable cords were so loose that the bolts had fallen off (this was caused by another repair) I had done to my car...Clinton Transmissions tighten my cable cords adding new bolts...they were honest, professional and very knowledgeable of transmission care/maintenance/service!! I would definitely recommend their service to anyone who needs transmission work on their vehicle!!

I should have written this review a long time ago because this happened in October 2021.I felt robbed by these people, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
I paid for a rebuilt transmission job, it lasted less than a mile.
I went back the following day after the initial job was done and after a very heated discussion with an old man and his rude wife, he agreed to redo the job. After a week, he gave me the transmission back and it lasted less than a month. They don’t know what they are doing and they mistreated me in the worst way.
New ownership/management. Had transmission replaced. Diagnostic was easy and quick. Great customer service (David). Dropped off for Monday morning. Picked up Saturday. Friendly people.
This was my first experience with Clinton Transmission, it was definitely impactful. After finding out that the current owners just took ownership April 1, 2024 & they were wrestling with honoring all the warranties from the previous ownership. The new owners were great and even helped me out of a bind where they could have dug into my pockets. I greatly appreciate them for being accountable for the delay and helping me get my vehicle back in the road.
I called this morning after being referred by Fort Washington Tire Pros & Auto Center. The individual who answered the phone stated they were too busy to replace a transmission pressure oil switch. "There's too much liability in replacing one" in his words. I didn't ask about liability I requested a service to have something replaced after I was referred. Then he went on to say other shops can do it, we just don't do it because we are too busy. So if I was paying thousands you would want my service but since I am not, I can go somewhere else. I have called Fort Washington and spoke with Jeremy who I have dealt with for years. I would not recommend this place to anyone due to their poor customer service. Read the reviews. You have been warned!
Wow! Mrs. Poore’s knowledge of the transmission replacement process was impeccable. It is why we made the decision to go with Clinton Transmission. We recently moved from MD to NC and our 2015 Tahoe rides like a brand new truck now, all in a 24 hour turn around to completion. Mr. Farley is a man of his word. Need a transmission go to Clinton Transmission 100%.
Had my car towed to Clinton transmission needing
my transmission rebuilt after the transmission they rebuilt went out in less than 4k miles. 10 days later I had my car towed from their lot needing a rebuilt transmission AND a K&N air intake, custom grill, custom door pulls, custom door savers, headlights, headlight bulbs, drivers side door bezel, TV/radio, custom console lid and $800
worth of body work to my drivers side door. I did receive a refund for the transmission that didnt last 1 full year.
IT TOOK ME 6 MONTHS TO PUT MY CAR BACK TOGETHER. I HAD TO BUY A JUNKYARD TRANSMISSION AND IT WORKS BETTER THAN THE TRANSMISSION THEY "REBUILT" BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY WORKS.
I WOULD WRAP MY CAR AROUND A UTILITY POLE WITH MY 83 YEAR OLD MOTHER RIDING SHOTGUN WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD IN HER LAP BEFORE I HAVE CLINTON TRANSMISSION TOUCH MY CAR AGAIN.
Couldn't transmission is the only shop that I trust to do my transmissions and have been for at least 25 years both company wise and personal they quick they ask you questions about how you use your trucks if that's what you're doing so they can build it according to God no complaints and fairly is a pretty jolly guy The prices How about the best in town that work with you
Clinton Transmission did me RIGHT!!!!! Very fast and professional service. I havent felt that comfortable in an Autoshop in a very long time. Their prices were reasonable and very worth every penny. I didnt feel like I was being taken advantage of and I love my car. They assured me before I mentioned it, how safe it would be. That came from the owner himself. Mr. Fairley and his team is AMAZING. I am a customer for life. Last but not least my car feels AMAZING after their work. I Highly recommend their service!!!!!!!!
This place is top-notch they fixed my transmission earlier this year I had a slight problem last week they brought it in fixed the problem no hassle no fuss gave me my vehicle back I am super duper happy I recommend them no I highly recommend them to anyone with transmission issues
I'll do this again . 2015 1500 Denali (that valve) caused me to have the trans get rebuilt. Clinton did a excellent job at areasonable price. Would i recommend them, YES. Thanks again

I walked into the right place if you’re having transmission problems this is the best spot they are so nice and friendly mr fairly and the guys do excellent work I’m so happy about the work they done I will refer everyone here.
They did a great job on my 2018 dodge 3500. this is the second truck in my fleet they have fixed both times they were verry kind,expedient and knowledgable. If you feel like you might have a transmission issue dont hesitate to take it by you will be treated right
This was a very pleasant experience. I went in and was greeted immediately by Mrs. Poor.Mr Fairley was called to speak with me.
He asked for my keys. In 10 mins he was back with a diagnosis of the problem. Not the Transmission! He told me to take it to my mechanic and told me what to tell them.

Mr fairly and the boys know what they are doing and thats all to it. Between my dad and I we brought about 6 trucks here over the years after doing alot of hauling and its always like getting a new truck when theyre done. Best transmission guys in the workd I will swear by them.

Previous owner (Fairly) sold/installed me a rebuilt transmission for my wife’s Honda Oddysey in December. 9 months later it’s toast and new owner (JR) will not stand behind the warranty. They are the kind of mechanics that give the business a bad reputation. I would never recommend them under any circumstances.
I had my transmission rebuilt here 2 years ago, I then bought it back 4 times since being rebuilt.The first time 5 days after I received the truck back, only to hear the owner say well we test it out and we cant find a thing. I call them up again to see whats the problem now since they were the last ones to do the work on it, let me guess they told me that i need to change out your #6 glow plug which is on the engine smh and they still didnt tell me whats the problem. I then picked the truck up on Saturday after talking to JR. the shop forman the owner called me on Monday morning telling me the same as story JR.. He told me to come get the truck drive it around not knowing i picked it up on Saturday and bring it back, after doing so for 2 years with same problem but getting worse. $2,500 gone, now I m looking for a reliable transmission shop now. Stay away!
Have not been there yet, but I will tell you that they were very professional and courteous over the phone. I called many shops and these guys just made me feel like this is the place to go .Will be taking my truck there tomorrow. Thanks guys will see you all tomorrow. Rene
