It was absolutely ridiculous how long we had to sit in the yard. I’m not sure how many loaders they have but the way we sat; it looks like there may be 1 loader. I will not come or bid here again. I arrived around noon and by 4:00 I was still in line and there were only a few drivers there for p/u from the beginning.
My experience from working with and purchasing from Ritchie brothers has been nothing short of pleasant. Miss Black Miss Anderson and Mr Sundere were great to work with. Even the mechanic at the Newnan Ga. Location came to help immediately was able to diagnose the issue report it to administration and get the problem fixed in a quick manner. Despite others contention I received titles in less then 3 weeks for both truck and trailer which were delivered overnight by courrier. The self load out process was a breeze despite a mechanical malfunction. The above names were very punctual and professional in their responses to my question. Finally, Miss Yan was pleasant to speak with and worked hard to help rectify my mechanical problem. I have no regrets working with Ritchie Bros.
Absolute worthless branch in MD. Driver sat at delivery for 5 hours and then had to pay $250 to get someone to offload small forklifts and pallets. Will refuse anything heading there next.
The employees on site very reasonable and helpful. Would buy from them again. Had at least 2 experiences at this location both positive.
To all the people complaining about getting junk from the auction. Buying junk from the auction is like gambling at a casino. You know the risks when you go into it.

Overall great experience. Bought a international truck online and showed up with no appointment I maybe waited 20 minutes and they drove the truck right to me and let me know to keep it running as the batteries were dead and they had to jump it. Will definitely be buying more.
If you have a bidder number and lot number, it's super easy to pick up. Book an appointment for ALL loader assitance loads. No appointment needed for a self load machine. Make sure the machine is paid for before you show up.

All to often the items auctioned are auctioned because its easier to hide the defects. if you're buying anything from Richie Brothers its probably junk and it has hidden problems not mentioned , you won't get an answer to any questions from the so called area supervisor. If you're trying to sell something you can't get any answers to your question of what things will cost. they expect you to just wait and see, Don't forget the $100 and higher fees no matter the bid price.
This site seems to always have great yard manager's and I think it reflects for both the buyer and sellers of Ritchie Brothers. Very well organized and customer service oriented. The newer yard manager Brian goes above and beyond for both his employer and the customer, amazing to find a Ritchie Employee who works weekends (although I am sure Ritchie has many employees that work weekends) and he amazingly texted me on a weekend to let me know we had a semi dolly in their yard yet which was greatly appreciated. Thank you
Did a fire extinguisher inspection and service here back in 2023 and all the fire extinguishers failed and needed serviced . All the staff here r very nice and easy to deal with. Paint booths r nice and big as well. Lots and lots of webs 🕸️ in the big garage in the back which was gross and the fire extinguishers had spiders 🕷️ all over them I was gutted to say the least lol. Nice place though
If I can rate a zero, I would definitely give them a zero. Ritchie Brothers are cunning, rip offs and scammers misleading the sellers. I was recommended to do business with Zach one of the representatives at the Maryland location for the auction March 18, 2025. I sent him pictures of the semi and repaired invoices such as 10 new tires $5200, pulley, brakes, drive shaft, airbags, fuel pump, etc. repairs totaling 22k, no more than 400 miles of wear and tear. I told him I wanted 25k, he said whatever we decide it’s worth the starting bid will be 40%. Zach stated they valued it at 20k which the STARTING bid would be 9k-10k which we agreed upon. The starting bid was $5. SMH Some how my vehicle sold for $4250. My guess it has to be some inside bidding going on. Anthony the manager threaten me by stating not to come and retrieve my semi and unsigned title that he would contact the police. I told them to cancel the sale due to Zach misleading business. Another issue, I delivered my vehicle a day before the auction with an unsigned title which shouldn’t went up for sale based off their contract, unsigned titles should be delivered two weeks prior. See below texts. I’ll see RB in court if they sell my truck God willing.
An auction place for trucks and other types of vehicles, but mainly trucks. Don't know about there how they handle the business, but I'll give them a try.
They made me schedule an appointment for pickup, when the time comes they told me they can´t help, WHY setup an appointment for something that will never happen, easy to tell from the beginning I could arrange it with a 3rd party, one of the Worst Experience ever receive in a Yard.
Gonna waste your whole day. Products are fine but the way this yard is ran is insane. Waited over 1.5 hours with an appointment. Plan on spending the day if you have multiple items to pickup.
Completely incompetent. Had multiple paying customers waiting 5+ HOURS ! before anyone even speaks to you. Every single employee NEEDS to be FIRED ASAP ! never giving this joke of a company another penny. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I sold my cars Charges is way too much is a ripe off commission is too high I sold 3 cars I was charged about $3800 that’s all my profit that you took away what’s the point of selling my cars with you when I took home nothing been my first time selling with your company 2nd of all the territory manger Malcolm Rautenbach is a racist I will say when base on how I was treated since the very first day I spoke with him over the phone he refused to answer my calls everything time I leave a voicemail it takes a week to respond back through message which I don’t mind but time frame of him getting back to me is ridiculous he said it take 21days for me to get paid I waited 23rd days no payment I have to send a text back to him knowing that he don’t want to speak to me over the phone it take him awhile to respond I ask what happened that I didn’t get pay he said he will look into it it take another 5 days to get the manager to get involved to start with and they came back that one of my car have not been paid for so they’re still waiting for a payment from that buyer so what happened that I was not informed within that 21days period? And why not pay me the one that has been paid for so I can pay my workers? I waited for another week before I get paid then they said I will wait till the buyer pay for my other truck which took another a week or 2 I waited for them to update me territory manger Malcolm Rautenbach never did I always bee the one messaging him to get an update of my payment and it take forever to respond back to me 3rd they charge me for working on my truck which I never Authorized to work on my truck I asked why was I charged he take awhile to get back he was like he will have to confirm from the shop if I authorized the fixing of my truck I never get a response for 2weeks I messaged him again it took 4days to respond back to my message and said he will get manger involve up till today I still haven’t get my money from him since I sold my car that was since June 11th 2024 up till now I’m still battling with me getting paid this is ridiculous bad business I will not advise my enemy to do business with this company that’s another just all how about how I was treated calling the North east region on Pulaski hwy Baltimore for a car that I purchased been the first time how to get my title that they mailed the lady gave attitude she’s of no help telling me that she don’t know what happened to my title I have to start calling ups myself to know what happened to my title it’s a mess

I did buy some trucks and equipment at The North East Maryland.
And usually spending every year from $50k to $100 k .on buying and selling equipment.
This year the rbauction increase the fees.
So i called in to find out about the fee, and i got transferred To they're manager Anthony.
He provides the worst customer service.
Was very rude to me not explaining anything about the new Tax and Fees.
And just told me if i don't want to buy, he will block my account, and he hung up on me.
Of course i want to pay,i never canceled my purchase for many years. Just very poor customer service and no respect at all to the customers and people who are doing business with.

I bought two forklifts from Florida Orlando online Auction on February, 19/ 2024. When they listed the forklifts it was included with propane tanks, when they sent it to us without propane tanks, I called 10 times and talked with 10 persons, but they are all helping the person how stolen the propane tanks from my forklifts. No any one responsible in this company!
Be aware when you purchase from this company they are not responsible after that they got their money to their account. All they play game with buyers and cheating!!!! Zero
I've always been impressed with Ritchie brothers. You would think being such a massive company they would be guilty of all the normal corporate bureaucracy and silly policies and rules but they've always been down to earth and easy to work with. Kinda like the old blue colar feild auction days. The site staff is always been friendly and eager to help wherever possible. Appointments and loadouts can be little stressful but that's where you go these days. I still miss the live auctions! damn you Covid 👎
Picked up a grapple this morning from the North East, Maryland location and Forklift Operator Barry went out of his way to ensure that the load was promptly found and safely loaded onto my trailer. Thank you very much, Barry, I look forward to working with you again in the future.
I spent literally 8 hours at the yard waiting to be load/getting loaded even with an appointment. They have 2-3 machine loading at a time which is obviously not enough. They also ask for your item numbers when you make your appointment. Why wouldnt you group the items in one area to load for each buy so you don't have to waste time running from one side of the yard to the other 15 different times. The guy loading me was great but the who setup is messed up and they couldn't even find one of my items. It's a big cluster over there and not a smooth operation away all.

I spent over 30k with RB in north east but they sold me a truck that tested good, was working fine the day of the auction but day after I picked it up, batteries swapped out, plow controller missing and the truck was broken. It seems to me they don't monitor their yard and let people steal and damage items. Worse thing my buddies been waiting over a year for clean title on some trucks, RB keeps blowing him off, won't provide clean title. At this point they owe him for the tow, paperwork costs, storage and auction fees and the cost paid. He complains and it seems Ritchie Brothers tries to pay him to remove his reviews. Now I don't think that follows google policy, don't seem legit to me. They should make good on their mistake. Until then I will never bid again
So I had bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment from Ritchie Brothers in North East Maryland. I will not spend one more dime. I have had ancillary parts stolen from items I purchased that I previewed the day of the sale and picked up the day after. This included a controller for a plow truck, chains, binders, spare tires off of trailers. I have had items damaged by others and no response from yard management. To top this off my good friend purchased trucks from them and was never given title. Ritchie Brothers has refused to make it right even after waiting well over a year for clean title. They provided defective title that would not transfer and refuse to make good on their guarantee. Well I refuse to spend another dime there. Buyer beware
A lot of cool stuff. People are friendly and do their best to help but the "safety" requirements and amount of workers they have to help load vs the amount of customers per day is not proportionate.
Waited in line for 4 1/2 hours today for loader assistance (From 11:30 - 3:45) Then they came around and said they won't be able to load me today anymore so I had to drive 120 miles back home. Seems rather poor with their size that they can't load someone who gets there before lunch.... Ritchie Brothers started using a booking platform but it seems like not all the locations require or use it. The last time I made an appointment at Northeast I got put in the same waiting line as everyone else so I didn't bother to schedule ahead this time.... I wish they would get their act together and be consistent with all their locations so that it's not so confusing to people who pick up at their different locations.
Purchased volvo 670 that had a clear title took them 2.5 months to send it that's 2 payments on a truck to sit. They also over charge me and I'm still waiting on a $3,900+ credit to be returned to me. Nothing but excuse after excuse for why they can not do there jobs. Definitely would never purchase anything from them again. Very good at telling you what they think you want to hear. Very bad at doing there jobs. Trucking companies/owners beware you've been warned. To there defense they USE TO BE A GREAT COMPANY to deal with but that time has come and long gone.
Personally were helpful and courteous in acquiring the mobile crane. Ok, Sunday , Ict. 17, 2021. Had issues and had to leave the mobile crane on their property which has much much storage capacity now they want to charge $250ba day storage fee unless it's moved tomorrow. I personally feel that is basically highway robbery.
Always a great experience. They have a streamlined system at the front desk, an efficient gate system, and helpful staff. Waits are normally minimal even when handling high traffic. While I have encountered a grouchy loader operator I have also encountered extremely helpful staff who go above and beyond to help get you loaded.
