The 5+ year old battery in my 2020 Subi Outback finally failed in December, so I purchased a new, highly-rated battery from a big box store and installed it myself on Jan 1st. Within 3 weeks, the new "highly-rated" battery had died. I had it tested at the Boothbay NAPA store and was informed by Ryan that it could not be fully charged and had retained less than half of its rated cold cranking capacity. After getting refunded for the defective new battery, I went to the Wiscasset NAPA store and, after talking with Vern & Jay, bought a battery from them. Unfortunately, that battery turned out to be the wrong one for my Outback, even though it started the car just fine. The problem was that the vertical height of the battery exceeded that of the original factory battery, making the attachment of the battery hold-down bracket impossible. I stopped by the store the next day to ask about a flexible strap that could serve as a hold-down when Vern asked why I needed that. When I explained the problem, he immediately said, "We sold you the wrong battery." Vern looked at the original Subi factory battery (core) and, using the information on it, found the correct one and had one of his employees remove the wrong battery and install the correct one. The helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous employees I dealt with at both the Boothbay and Wiscasset stores are top-notch professionals, and their help was deeply appreciated. Vern, the owner of both stores, is a class act and was especially helpful in many respects. I can say, without reservation, that I will give any & all of my future automotive parts business to these stores. They are both HIGHLY recommended.

I had an odd sized battery that I needed to order online. Unfortunately, these batteries are now delivered without acid in them. I went to NAPA looking for acid and advice on how to put it in the battery, not having done this before. Vern not only took my battery and put the acid in it himself, (a potentially nasty job) but he also put it on a trickle charger for me and it was ready and charged the next day. They wouldn't take payment for the extra help either. Great customer service!! Thank you!!

ordered an oem part. was told it would be in the next morning and they would give me a call, never got a call, and received the wrong part. returned it for the correct part and was told it would be another 2 days before it came in. meanwhile my daily driver (only car) is out of commission...

I went to Napa because of low oil. Well I didn't know where to put the oil. The guy at the register was awesome. He gave me a lesson on checking my oil, answering all my questions. Then he showed me where to put the oil. I can't say enough about this employee!! Thank you very much.

Was traveling through the area and really needed a new battery for my truck, which was an odd size. The staff was very friendly and let me pick through the battery rack and test fit it in the parking lot without any trouble. Was able to get a replacement that's working great to this day! Thanks again.

Returned my merchandise that was bought on a credit card and they forgot to credit my account with the money. I called to figure things out and was told that my refund was credited to the business account of the person who works on my vehicle for another vehicle that isn’t even mine! Had to argue for 30 minutes to get a refund. On top of it all the refund was because they had sold me the wrong parts. I had to go to Oreilys to finish the job. Bad business! EDIT: I stopped by this store years after this review to get an axle seal for a trailer. Between both of the boneheads in the store (the owner being one of them), they couldn’t figure out what seal went in the axle that I physically removed and brought to them. After they graced me with 20 minutes of their idiocy, the owner looks and me, confrontationally, and asks me if I was the one who wrote the review years ago like he was going to deny me service for writing the review. I grabbed my axle without obtaining the part I went there for and told him another review was on the way. I got the job done AGAIN at O’Reillys for $7 cheaper than the parts at NAPA. Furthermore, the owner had the opportunity to make things right and instead he decided to use the opportunity to get confrontational. If I could give this store a 0/5 star review I would. Parts are usually in stock, if not, they get them in quickly. Most importantly, they always get the correct part for me! All that and at a reasonable price!!

I called this store from Boothbay Harbor on a Sunday morning while visiting from Boston. So happy to find them open Sunday morning. While my car was running fine on the trip up from MA, I had researched the dashboard light that came on Sat night and realized my alternator was probably dying or dead. Very unfortunate timing and location. I called the store and they were very helpful by phone- they would test it if I could make it there. I did- and my alternator was dead. AAA would tow me 100 miles and I was 65 miles beyond the radius. We discussed a variety of options that could potentially get me the 65 miles- given that replacing the alternator on a Sunday in that area was not a viable option. We also discussed what would happen if my battery died while driving. With my battery charged for a few hours, I set out and made it the 65 miles with no issues. I had the car towed to Boston and alternator replaced the next day. Vern had me text him to let him know I made it. I learned a lot about alternators and batteries. All of this advice at no charge because I didn’t need any parts that the store could provide. While I was there, I saw the employees help several others with various car questions and concerns. It was clear that they were very knowledgeable and enjoyed helping people with their cars. I would go out of my way to get service or parts at this store anytime.

Long time customer that’s done being overcharged. 3 weeks ago I was told a price of a strut and I asked why it was $100 cheaper if I ordered it in Napa’s website and was answered with “if you order the part on our website you get the discount” same part, same part number. I got the part at advanced auto for $125 vs $230 in Napa. They do not pay enough for good help I’ve watched 3 long time employees quit within the last year and now they are useless with the help they have. Yesterday I was told they couldn’t look up a brake line size because they do not sell pre bent bake lines. Went to O’Reilly’s and got what I needed. It’s now not about the convenience of saving a few miles it’s more about getting the right part the first time for a decent price. NAPA know how was in the past.

Called and had some plugs placed under my name for pick-up. After playing 20 questions they could not find my order nor could they find the plug part number. Went to the Damariscotta NAPA where they found the p/n and plug in 5 minutes. Told me the Wiscasset store showed 6 in stock. I won't bother with this NAPA unless desperate.

Staff has no idea what is going on. Called about a tool, drove to the store, walked in to them having a conversation about inventory discrepancies. Asked employee for said tool and they don't have such item. Never did have. Even after i had just called and they said it was right there. I then asked who I spoke with and between the 4 guys working there they came to a conclusion they had no idea. If this is Napa know how other parts guys must be geniuses.

Excellent. They let me use an impact driver and socket (from their tool rental program) to remove pulley from alternator as replacement comes to w/o appropriate pulley.

The guys here were totally awesome, helped me free up a plug on my camper van with a smile. Will definitely be changing from AutoZone / O'Reilly's to NAPA!

I love this Napa! The building is new and always very well stocked. And the staff is always friendly and helpful. Infact, I drive past 3 other parts stores and about 20 miles from home just to go to this location. If by the seldom chance they don't have something in stock, then they can get it in less than 24 hours. And the prices are better than anywhere else, even compared to buying online.

This Napa has way more parts and supplies in inventory than I would expect. It's one of the best Napa locations I've ever been to. They even do exchanges on welding cylinders.

Amazingly helpful staff. Maybe it is because their local but I think a lot of the NAPA stores in Maine have great staff and without them you don't fine the best solutions to your problems. They order things for you they don't have and their depth of available parts is amazing.

Although the guys were nice at the door, I should've known that a guy wearing shorts in 28 degree weather couldn't possibly have enough sense to get my part right. Never asked any questions about my car past the year make and model. Let me tell you, sir, that $15 headlight bulb you sold me (that sells for $11 in other places) did NOT fit - my socket does not have grooves for those tabs to fit in. Please pay more attention to what you're doing and maybe put some pants on. Thanks. You made me cold just looking at you.

Stopped mid-point on our family vacation to get a Grease Gun for the wheel bearings on our boat trailer. Not sure the name of the employee but he was really helpful when we brought the gun outside. Something was stuck and he stayed with us until it worked...offering the shops if our failed to perform properly. My daughter, our family dog and myself played with an adorable dog Tucker, shop dog, in the back while my husband figured this all out. Good stop that we will remember.

We picked up a part in saco were told core could be returned locally when we arrived at this store we were told they don't do core returns because its privately owned will do business in topsham from now on have a great day shop friendly
