Had an issue w a Mercedes Benz GL550. In April 2025 took it to a MB dealer where it was diagnosed in a day but the part wasn’t readily available. Checked in with MB weekly from May 2025 thru in August 2025 we were told it was ready so picked up and it was still flashing he same codes on the dashboard took it back the following Monday and that a new the part was in available only a remanufactured part was available we agreed left the car another month told the car would be ready in September 2025 .Checked in with serve looking for status was given multiple reasons why it wasn’t completed told supplier sent wrong part was then told it would be completed by the week before Thanksgiving. That time came and went then we were then told that the delay was due to a change in service manager. We’d been patient but had had enough we picked up car and took it home and parked it. A friend suggested we call Atlantic Motorcar Center (AMC)we did and it was like a breath of fresh air. We explained the issue and provided invoices and diagnostic data to Bruce and Dan in service. AMC took possession of the car at the end of January 2026. Then the SUV was carefully assessed and diagnosed providing a multi page write up including pictures and a suggested path to remedy and repair the problem along with other issues that we were unaware of and missed by the dealer. We agreed to have AMC move forward with the repairs. Dan in service and Kyle the assigned technician kept us updated with status of the progress multiple times per week via phone and with texts. One month later we, most of that time waiting for a very specific electronic box that communicates with the car’s engine management system. We were informed the car was ready. We went to pick up the GL550 Friday March 6th it was washed and fully assembled internally, the MB dealer left the rear access panels disassemble in pieces, Took a test drive with Dan in service and it was perfect. The GL550 is back home after 10 months a the MB and one month with Atlantic Motor Car. Great to have Moms favorite SUV home. Wish we had gone to Atlantic Motorcar Center first and saved months anguish. 👍

My 2015 BMW X3 28i did not start and I needed to have it towed here for it to be diagnosed and repaired. They worked with me and helped me get it back on the road, running like brand new. I am so happy with their work and professionalism, I will be back with my BMW for all of its needs.

Land Rover stealership quoted $14k for work, Atlantic gave me the real story and handled all repairs for a tenth of the price. A rare honest broker I can gladly recommend without reservation.

I am grateful to have a fellow Sprinter van friend recommend Atlantic to me. The service and professionalism was above anything I’d experienced with any other vehicle I’ve ever owned! Dan in service especially made very sure that I was well informed and in agreement with all that my van needed, prepping for a long trip. The care they give is honest and sincere. I had one warranty item-they made the appointment and personally delivered and picked up my van from Scarborough—I never personally dealt with Mercedes:-) No extra charges for that service. Not only do I feel that my van is in tiptop condition, but I feel supported across the country should anything arise to call Atlantic and get connected with a recommended service center during my travels. Bruce and the crew are awesome! Jessica was my service advisor for the maintenance on my Touareg TDI she did a great job keeping me advised on the work that was being performed and was quick to respond to any questions I had.

I could not recommend Atlantic Motorcar enough. They have always been fair, have diagnosed issues quickly, and have never tried to talk me into doing anything I didn't need. Having a luxury/foreign auto can be a headache at times, and fixes can be pricey, so I have been glad to send my vehicle there and know I am in good hands.

I recently had a Service B maintenance done on my Mercedes, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The shop took exceptional care of me from start to finish. Dan, my service coordinator, did an amazing job—he clearly explained everything I needed to know, laid out all the important details, and made sure my account was thoroughly noted with all the relevant specifics. The service report was incredibly well done, professional, and easy to understand. Everyone at the shop is super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in their customers. The experience was so impressive that my girlfriend decided to have her Porsche serviced there as well. This is absolutely my preferred shop going forward. Highly recommend!

I love Atlantic Motorcar. They do all they can to work with you so you do get your car seen really pretty quickly. They have loaners and offere to ferry you home if they can't promise a short wait for the service. When work is done, it is done right the first time. And the car always comes back looking a bit better than it did when it went in.

Atlantic Motors came highly recommended by my son who had used them in the past. Although my 2015 Volvo V60 had only 70K miles, it was time to replace the timing belt and tensioner. Bruce talked me through it and Rick picked up my car and left me a loaner while they checked things out. They were super thorough and we are now good for another 10 years. Very pleased with their service and fair pricing.

Even remotely the leadership behind this organization knows their cars in and out. While recently visiting with Bruce, vocalized the scantest explanation as to the symptoms of my 2015 F10. Upon which, replying an accurate diagnosis. when the work was completed locally. Sadly, I’m not in Maine. However, if I was, I certainly would be seeing Bruce and the team at Atlantic Motorcar. Guess that’s a good reason to move!

These guys are terrific. Had unique problem while purchasing a car at a dealership. Bruce gave me his time and expertise and best thinking as to how I should approach the problem. He actually published a case study on my very issue. He was SO helpful and all the while not making ANY money off of me. Rare in today's world, just being a good kind considerate professional. Would I give him my business in the future?...NO BRAINER YES!!

I recently brought in our ‘22 MB Sprinter camper van for the 40k mile B Service maintenance. I also asked that they just go over the whole chassis bumper to bumper to make sure it is in tip-top traveling condition. They did all of that and more. They fixed the loosening strap bolts on the aftermarket extended range fuel tank, caused by an omission of lock washers by the outfitter. They also fixed the RV manufacturer-installed gray water tank straps that were rubbing against the fuel tank. They also modified the front tire wheel wells so that the oversized tires no longer rub when turning the wheels. I’m very satisfied by the work performed such that I feel confident that the rig is ready when it comes time for the next adventure.

The differential on my 2008 Volvo XC70 failed at about 80K miles. The car is in excellent condition otherwise and has very low mileage for its age, so I desperately wanted to fix it but had been told by my usual repair shop in NYC that it was going to be extremely expensive, $5K++ because of used/re-built part availability issues. While doing internet research, I came across a case study Bruce had done a few years ago on this very subject, so I reached out. He got back to me quickly and spent 15 minutes explaining the problem—which I very much appreciated—that it is NOT an uncommon issue, but also that he is unfortunately no longer doing these re-builds, and why. He encouraged me NOT to give up and sell the car for parts—which I was about to do out of sheer frustration—and referred me to a used Volvo parts dealer in Upstate NY who had what I needed. Bruce went above and beyond with his extensive knowledge and willingness to help me find a solution, even if he himself wasn’t doing the job. My beloved station wagon is being repaired as I type…for FAR FAR less than five grand! Thanks Bruce!

Agents take time to customize needed servicing and personal requests . Agent Jessica kept me notified of upcoming service. She remained my personal contact during servicing. We spoke on the phone for updates and time for completed pickup. I always have a loaner and my SUV is washed . Jessica explained servicing bill in detail and we discussed next scheduled servicing. Agency helps me maintain and extend the life of my older diesel SUV with an excellent customer relationship. This attention is why I continue using Atlantic Motorcar Center.

I was very impressed with the service and care I received when my BMW 328i was being repaired. Everything from being walked through the estimate to the use of their business center to being loaned a car while the work was completed. A few weeks later after I picked up my car a sensor went off saying the battery of my key needed changing and pressure in one tire was low. I went back to Atlantic for help on these matters and they did this for me for free and the mechanic Chase took the time to show me how to reset the sensor—something I had never known how to do. Overall, I would highly recommend bringing in one’s car here.

Variable hourly rate?! I have a new-to-me Audi TT with a low oil pressure warning. I called and talked to Jessica, as a potential new customer, to see about getting it checked out as they seem to be the local Audi experts. She was friendly, and told me diagnostics would cost $300-500, to determine what is wrong. I asked what their hourly rate was, if I decided to have them fix it after diagnosing it, and she couldn’t/wouldn’t tell me…?! She told me their hourly rate was variable, and depends on the job, which I told her was very odd and could she at least give me a range or an idea of what their rate is? No, she couldn’t do that either, “depends on the job”. (I had told her what the job was, fix a low oil pressure warning on an Audi TT, and beyond that, Maine law requires shops to post their hourly rate, so I don’t understand how Atlantic Motorcar can say their rate is “variable” and “it depends”?). Given it would cost $300-500 just to look at it, and an undetermined hourly rate after that to fix it, I took it to a different Audi mechanic. Sorry, I wanted to do business with Atlantic Motorcar, but beyond the fact that their diagnostics are very high, I would never hire anyone to do work for me for an “variable/it depends” hourly rate, so I looked elsewhere. If Jessica has given out incorrect information, please correct it here, and please post your hourly rate.

I recently took my 1984 Mercedes to Atlantic Motor Cars in Wiscasset, Maine, and had an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly and professional service. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring all my questions were answered with patience and expertise. I have had multiple positive visits recently. I brought in my volvo that had not been driven for over a year and they did a very thorough job inspecting and diagnosing problems with the battery and brakes as well as a few other issues. The service they provide is well worth the cost. Everyone on staff that I interacted with was really pleasant and conversational. They genuinely seemed to care about making sure my car and I were taken care of.

After hearing their excellent ads about taking care of people, I put them to the test. Although I live up coast nearly 2 hours. I was ready to make the trek. Had gotten limited help for my car locally. Owner Bruce took my call & .considerable time to understand my situation. Although he knew I would ultimately need to go to the dealership, he continued to dig into the issue to get me the best & most accurate information discovering 2 recalls on my vehicle in the process. Thank you Atlantic, & thank you Bruce, for your time, patience, & help. The way customer service.should be! Beyond grateful to have made the call.

Breaking down while on vacation is never fun but everyone at Atlantic Motors went out of their way to help me get back on the road quickly and safely. The time they took to explain the repair process and their professional approach kept stress levels low. The teamwork and communication, from reception, to Bruce the owner, to Brad the manager to Kyle ( Kyle? ) the tech was exceptional and saved my vacation.

+1 star for the techs here who do great work. +1 star for the service advisors who are helpful and try to do the right thing. -1 star for the cheap parts that Bruce makes them use. -1 star for all the nickel and diming that Bruce does, especially when trying to get a warranty repair. -1 star for Bruce's two-faced nature, which depends on whether your check book is open or closed, and if you ask questions about the work being done and the parts being used. I took my Land Rover here to have most of the fluids changed and to have a faulty axle replaced. He charged me $1225 just to replace the axle and assured me that the quality of the replacement was as good as or better than original, which only failed because of a shipper's neglect. The new axle began to rust on the surface and flake off about 4 months after being installed, and the boot failed after just 6 months. When I went back to ask about the axle, and to have it replaced, I was told the brand was some cheap generic part and not actually up to OE standards, and that I would need to have additional services performed on the vehicle that weren't at all necessary the first time. Once I started asking questions, and refused other additional work he wanted to do, he became rude and dismissive. I overheard him say twice, "If he (me) wants to have a relationship with us...", the rest I pieced together as me leaving my check book wide open and letting them do whatever they want. Later he made it difficult to schedule the warranty work, and also kept making excuses for why the service rep. hadn't called me back. Before I had left though, he said, and I quote "Maybe we're not the right shop you. You can either do the work yourself or take it to another shop." And that's exactly what I did and I clouldn't be happier! I had OE Made in Germany parts installed, and took it to the Land Rover Dealership in Scarborough to do the alignment (which actually was less expensive than what Bruce wanted to change). The people at the dealer are great too! So check book closed and relationship over! Thanks for the suggestion Bruce! Bye!

These guys are great! I was traveling South on Rt 1 yesterday and stopped in, completely unannounced, and asked if it was possible to have the lugs on all four wheels of my Promaster torqued. In less than 5 minutes, they found the proper torque setting, grabbed a tech, and had all 20 lugs torqued in the parking lot. No charge. I was quickly on my way with peace of mind. These guys are busy and work hard, I did not expect to be welcomed so warmly & attended to so quickly. The building and surroundings are spotless, and the vibe was positive, warm, friendly, and upbeat. I would not hesitate to bring my car here for service in the future.

I had a great experience at Atlantic Motorcar. From the start, Bruce really listened to my concerns and took the time to help me make a decision about whether or not to fix my car. When they had it and checked it out, they didn’t push unnecessary repairs, but instead helped me make informed decisions about what needed to be done and what could wait. It felt like they genuinely cared about helping me make the decision. When I picked it up I felt confident in the work they did and grateful for their honesty and professionalism. I would highly recommend them.

I have taken my Volvo to Atlantic Motor car for several years and have always been pleased with their honesty and the work they do. They are always professional and knowledgeable about what I ask them to check into. I am very fond of my car and they help me keep it safe and running well. I had my 2020 MB Sprinter van towed to Atlantic Motorcar (in limp mode) based on their strong reputation. They performed the Schedule B service I requested and, more importantly, diagnosed the major issue: a clogged DPF. They informed me that the clogged DPF should be covered under the MB warranty. Bruce asked for my permission and then coordinated the entire thing with MB Scarborough, communicated directly with the dealership, and ensured the repair was completed under warranty. After MB Scarborough finished, they picked up my van and did a final check to confirm everything was in order. While good work at a fair price is essential, what truly earns my 5-star rating is the exceptional communication from Bruce and Dan. They kept me informed throughout the entire process, including the status of their diagnostics and work they were doing, and then with MB Scarborough and communicating the dealership's progress completing the repair. I truly appreciate that transparency and dedication. Thank you, Atlantic Motorcar—I won’t hesitate to bring my van back again but until then, looking forward to getting back on the road!
