Just purchased my 4th Subaru Forester from Norms used cars. It’s an awesome 2019 Subaru Forester Sport. I love it!!!! I’m always impressed with how many beautiful used vehicles they have for sale on there lot.. And they offer, hands down the best extended warranty on the market for used vehicles, 5 years, unlimited miles. We Had the great pleasure of meeting and dealing with Bruce this time. Bruce and the whole Norm’s team are so very polite, professional and knowledgeable.. They don’t even try to upsell or push you into anything. They just try to help you find the best vehicle and deal for you. They make buying a vehicle fun and easy… the way it should be!!! I will always return to Norm’s to buy my cars. We bought a 2011 CR-V about two years ago from Norms. Had a really nice experience with Thom and the staff in the office. We also bought the warranty on the car, which we’ve used a couple of times because we’ve had to bring the car in for mechanical issues covered (and not covered under the warranty, paid out of pocket, roughly over $2,400). We had our state inspection performed there the last couple of years. They informed us in September 2024 with the inspection that the rear brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. We went ahead and did that. They also cleaned and adjusted the e-brake, in addition to fixing a shock/strut issue, a crack in the exhaust, and replacing a couple of bulbs. This year the car had the AC compressor go and needed to be replaced, and there was a coolant leak with a repair costing over $1,400. We had another round of repairs done on the car in the last two weeks, had the state inspection done again with them and they failed the car with one of the reasons being that the brake pads are “at min spec”, so worn out. The car has been driven 17,000 miles in the past year. We live rurally and not in the city, not a lot of stop and go driving. I talked to the service manager and he said that some cars just go through brakes quickly. That it could be a stuck caliper. No one mentioned a stuck caliper when the brakes were replaced last year. He said that they would have to take it all apart to check for that now. I asked if they would replace the breaks under a brake warranty and he said no, that they were outside of mileage as well as the one year. The brake situation makes me question the quality of brakes that they use to replace the parts. I tried to come to a compromise, offering to pay for the labor for the brakes, but not the parts. The service manager declined that offer. Frankly, overall, looking at the purchase of the car, the repairs we’ve needed to get in the last two years, buying the $2,000 warranty, still paying over $2,400 on repairs that the warranty doesn’t cover, and apparently owning a car that the service manager said it seems like a car where the brakes need to be replaced every 15,000 miles, well, it’s just disappointing. If they sell cars that need new brakes every 15,000 miles, well, that seems bad. Selling a car that needs over $3,000 (warranty covered/out of pocket costs) within two years of purchase, well, that seems bad. Being unable to work to come to a compromise with a customer that bought the car there, bought the warranty, had multiple services performed there (with payment out of pocket totaling over $2,400) with a car that they say will need brakes after 13 months/17,000 miles, well, that seems bad as well. Hopefully this review helps someone who is looking to buy a car there.

So , let's start off by saying that my credit is very special . I applied for financing at Norms with literally zero hopes of getting approved, but Carmine reached out to me and was able to get me financed for an suv in just a couple of hours! Bought a Honda CRV 1 month ago, so far the catalytic converter, radiator had to be replaced and now it is making noise so.bringing it to my mechanic, it has turned into a money pit.

I will never buy another car from Norms again! after buying a 2011 Subaru Outback from Norms. Don’t be scammed! By buying the extended warranty they offer! Two transmissions in only 4 years! When I only put 20k miles on the car! I don’t drive hard & take care of my car. If you buy this warranty yeah they will replace the transmission with junk yard transmission that has with no warranty on the part from the time you drive away! After they installed the second transmission only being in my car for less than a year service department told me the transmission making noise and nothing they could do since the warranty wouldn’t cover the car anymore even though it’s a 5 year warranty and I’m on year number 4. Apparently it’s a 5 year warranty but if you use the warranty they will just cap you off even if it’s one your first year they can just cap you when they want. How is this a 5 year warranty? when they can just decide they are done before 5 years? “Scam!” this car was a money pit! I had a month in the summer my car pretty much spent all of July getting repaired! Absolutely crazy! Tom Thomas is a good sales rep I feel bad for him because it must be tough to sell cars overpriced cars with high mileage. I will say Ross and the mechanics at norms are great but as for buying a car here, Don’t get sold a lemon! Let me just add I asked one of the sales reps about this warranty recently he told me you drive away after a new transmission just installed under warranty if it is makes noise when you drove out of the lot then they won’t replace it because there’s no warranty on these junk transmissions they install from the time you drive away from the lot right after it’s installed! unbelievable! “Buyers Beware! “

We went looking for a car for Grandson to get to college. Met with the staff there. Bruce and the secretary (Office Manager, the real boss) were extremely helpful. Went to try out 2 different Jettas. First jetty, battery was dead. We tried out a 2014 TDI and ended up purchasing it. They were helpful with getting insurance set up se we could drive it home. Grandson had check engine light come on enroute to Connecticut but made it ok. Just called Dave in service department and all set up to look at it Friday. We really appreciate your great service! Had a wonderful experience buying from Carmine last December. I was having trouble getting financing due to slow credit. I always paid for cash for things and didn’t realize the importance of having credit cards or a loan in your name for keeping your credit score high (ladies, be sure and do that even while married, you may need it one day) I was pretty dismayed to find how hard it was to get a loan even with a good job and no debt. I contacted Norms online regarding a 2017 Subaru and Carmine was able to get me financing within a couple of hours! Buying the car was effortless with Carmines help. After taking the car for a test drive, all I had to do was go back in and sign the papers he drew up ahead of time. What a friendly and welcoming place Norm’s is. I love my car and couldn’t be happier 8 months later.

Sales team was great. But getting service department to be honest on repairs and warranty work was an absolute joke, “service manager” has nothing but excuses and low handed insults.

Overall great experience! Carmine was super friendly and helped me find just what I was looking for. The whole team made everything easy. Very happy with the service and love my new ride.

Just bought my first car here. Bruce was extremely friendly and helpful, and was more than happy to let me take multiple cars for a test drive. Would recommend buying at Norm’s, top quality dealership.

They talk a good game and they’re nice people but they give you a book value and a whole sheet that you would get online BUT it’s about 3 to 4000 more than most of the online choices. I didn’t realize it so I paid quite a bit more than the car was worth so do your own research. make sure the book value of the car that you’re buying used is actually accurate. Another point is check with local mechanics to see which cars cost the most to fix because I was told that my VW Jetta is a higher cost to fix than many of the cars - so learn from my mistake.

Would absolutely buy from Norm’s again :) we had absolutely no issues while we were there, treated with respect, very kind people working that day. Overall just a great experience. We absolutely love our new truck, thank you again!

Terrible experience selling Norm’s my Forester with a bad engine. They gave me the bottom of their range despite the car’s otherwise clean condition and many recent big-ticket parts. The reason for the low-ball price? “Rust underneath.” The car had just passed inspection someplace else with no mention of rust as an issue. I was ripped off and will never buy a car here. They were friendly over the phone with talk of upwards of a decent price, then changed their tune completely for no reason I can see. They were my best option at the time, so I believe they took advantage. I wouldn’t trust them. Go somewhere else.

Norm's has treated me incredibly well, from my initial purchase of an '07 Forester 4 years ago, to my upgrade to a '16 Forester just this week. Sales staff worked hard to get me the best financing and get me into my new (to me) car as quick as possible. The service staff for the past 4 years has been fantastic, giving me honest repairs and being upfront about expenses and labor costs. That's why I keep making that drive to Wiscasset from Portland. THE WORST PLACE TO BUY A VEHICLE IN MAINE, NEW ENGLAND AND THE COUNTRY AWARD GOES TOO...NORM'S They will sell u a car and not back it if it dies. My boyfriend and I bought a 4 Runner from Them back in July and had electric issues from week one. They "fixed" the window switch and then it went again. Then in September we had to replace a sensor (that was electric) and in October it died. The main computer went. Come to find out the vehicle that we still owe $11,000 on is a flood vehicle. Norms is claiming we flooded it while putting 12,000 miles on it and it being completely dry. Every wire in the 4Runner is corroded, we could have been driving down the road at 90 mph and had the air bags go off. So if u want a reliable vehicle that you want to drive more than 3 months with out having it become a lawn ornament Don't buy it from these guys. They don't care. They wouldn't even return phone calls to us. They got their $$$ and that's all that matters to them. STAY AWAY FROM NORMS!!!!

I called before I went to get some questions answered. The call was simple, straight forward and honest. They knew what I was looking for and the car was started and warmed up for a test drive. Test drive went well with lots of opportunities to bring it up to speed or drive back roads. Back on the lot, we looked around the lot to see other cars similar in price range and features. I ended up buying a car and the process went very smoothly. I think this dealer is popular not only because of its selection of quality used cars but they have a staff of salesmen and mechanics that have many years of experience selling new and used cars. I think they have seen it all and they now want to truly help you get a quality vehicle. Just be honest and do your homework before getting the national insurance policy. It's not for everyone.
