I used to love coming here but lately their prices keep creeping up . A lot of their products are beyond the "Best By" date so look at even you buy . Seems a lot of their products are just as much as Walmarts prices .

July 12 2025 first time shopping here so I was exploring looking at everything so I seen Kraft mayo for $.50ea I said this is too good to be true so something said check the expiration date why it said April 2025 3 months out some even had January and march dates so me being who Iam walked around checking all kind of items all that stuff was expired everything I touched in different areas of that store was expired I won’t be returning

Huge selection of goods at fantastic prices. In date foodstuffs. Stocked freezer. Friendly and helpful staff. Big shout out to the manager Julia. She's the best! Clean and tidy shelves. It's like a treasure hunt on the finds there. A must for saving a ton of money!

When I’m in this area I always swing by to see what they have. Wish I had one in Livingston parish. Great deal on can goods.

It has been years since I had been here and it was only because I would do my grocery shoppin early early on Sunday mornins so it wouldn't be open yet. I finally started to go grocery shoppin on Saturday mornins,and not as early so I would catch them as they were openin. I'm so glad I did cause this place really does have so great deals! I've got a family of 5 so every single penny counts when it comes to groceries. Sure some things are out of date but still good and lots of things are still in good date. I will say I don't buy anything out the frozen food or cold food sections. Just a preference. Although they do have quality items at a more than moderate price. The service is always wonderful and staff is always helpful! I can't say that loud enough! I recommend the salvage store to anyone really but if you're lookin for a deal then don't pass it up!

This store you get what you pay for, you have to watch the dates on items the name is call a salvage store for a reason, you can fine good deals

Overall this is one of my favorite stores in the area to go to for groceries. You can't rely on anything specific to be in stock but it can be a great place to find some deals if you aren't set on a particular thing. The store could probably stand to be a little cleaner overall and it seems the bathroom is always out of order the couple times I've needed it. Produce is often rotten and some of it is overpriced - onions, pineapples and coconuts when they have them are just about the price of a regular grocery but obviously well past their prime. But when they have lettuce or peppers and they look good you can get a great deal. Some dried goods are also sold above normal value, like ramen noodles for 45 cents when they are typically 15-20 at any other grocery. A lot of foreign products are just marked really high because they presumably don't know what it is. All of that being said, you can occasionally come out with some fantastic deals if you happen to be there on the right day. The staff is also generally friendly although watch your prices as they seem to mark prices down before updating their system. Be sure to pay attention to the items you are buying and look for any signs of the package being compromised as I have been burned a few times before with moldy/freezer burnt things but now know to be more vigilant.

I love this place be sure to know the difference in "sell by" or "best by" of "expired by" dates.

Love the people. Great experience both times we've been. Good selection and decent prices. Check dates on items. Most products near or slightly past expiration as expected in a salvage store but some a fair ways past. So far, everything we've bought is still good, especially chocolate chip packages 2/$1 on special. Yeah!

Was able to get some organic annies waffles, hylands homeopathic baby care meds and genexa homeopathic meds for a fraction of the normal price! Shopping organic doesnt HAVE to be expensive!

My sister and I go there a lot the prices are saving for what you bye.The folks that work there are very helpful and treat you like family.I try and go there every chance I get.Its well worth the trip to save a lot of money

A very pleasant and wonderfully place to come and shop for a large number of grocery items. The isles are well kept and organized allowing for an easier shopping experience. They provide competitive prices with other stories and will have in some items that you do not realize you are looking for. They will have amazing deals any day of the week and is one of my favorite places to do my grocery shopping.

I've always enjoyed shopping there...untill recently...there's an older lady that works there ...I think her name is dijuana or something like that..she is rude to me and my hubby every time we go in there...she didn't tell me I left a bag the last time I was there and I have my grandson w us so I was in the parking lot for quite awhile...she even acted like she doesn't like checking us out ...it's Everytime we go in there ??she says y'all have a blessed day....that's the only thing she says to us whole time we checking out...no ty or how are u or did u find everything ok ...she is definitely a Karen in my book...????

I love the store. You can get good food for so much less than a regular grocery store. Harahan store is amazing. Amite store sucks. They were even selling moldy bread. I'm never going back to Amite. Harahan....Yes please!

So thankful this place exists. When you have growing kiddos and a tight budget, this is where you can grab some food to fill bellies. **Be mindful to check dates on packaging.

Check your food. If you've got a puffed can or jar lid don't buy it. Usually the cashiers will catch it and let u know and then remove the item but never buy food that could be potentially contaminated. Aside from that this place is the bomb! Their stock is constantly changing but there's always tons of options, including expensive organic products that are difficult to find! There's even gluten free items sometimes. Lots of name brand food and items all at great prices. Only occasionally do i find an item that is overpriced, but most items are around a dollar. I could get 300 dollars worth of groceries for around 80 bucks easily.

The two doors were wide open, we walked in was greeted nicely. The man helped us find things. When we approached the register, a lady says RUDELY that they are not open and we shouldn't be in here! And continues saying rude comments. I asked who managed this store, she said she was assistant manager. WILL NOT STOP THERE AGAIN. I will call and report her to management!

You have an assistant store manager that needs to learn to talk to people. The doors were open a worker helped us find items in the store as we were ready to check out this manager comes out of back of the store sarcastically saying we didn’t even belong in the store, that they were not even open yet. I’ll ask the gentleman that helped us find items why he didn’t tell us that the store was not open yet he proceeded to laugh and say sure will take your money and now the manager agrees with him and tells us to have a blessed day after she just basically wanted us to leave the store saying she didn’t tell us to leave. I toured this area quite frequently and would hope to not have to face this lady if I stop in again

Hmmm. I can find the same prices in local retailers. Wasn't so happy with selections. Not enough can foods. This location is not locate near me and I don't feel it's worth the drive anymore. Example: I can get a box of pancake mix for 99¢ at my local dollar store.

I used to like this place, they always seemed to have the things i needed. Lately they don't have much i want. The store is pretty dirty, like no one bothers to sweep at all. And most items have NO PRICE listed on them! That's the most aggravating thing!

They have great deal's on food. I go all the time. This store is truly a blessing to me and my family.

I love the prices. The selection varies but they have good stuff at good prices and help all of us who don't have a lot of money.

Prices are getting higher. Also don't see no more vegetables, potatoes. Eggs are higher. Sad the meat prices are getting high. People like me who is a grandmother lives on a fixed income, plus raising a grandson which means I'm trying to find good deaks. But usually hotdogs, baling to me is only what you see on sale. I end up having to go to some of our other stores to find a deal.

Always friendly helpful employees. They may not always have what you're looking for, but there's always something different. Prices are reasonable, sometimes really good bargains.

People are very friendly..nice place to go if you have a lot of time...has good prices but most things are past the "best by" date

It is cheap and convienent. The groceries are marked down to a fraction of the original price. Either it's damaged or slightly out of date. Watch the prices though. I scanned a few products with the Wal-Mart app and they were over priced. But over all, it's a really great deal.
