All of the food was amazing, and the soufflé was so good!! It was slightly awkward how quiet it was - no music was playing and all the guests were eerily quiet. Overall 10/10 though

Your life hasn't actually started until you've had their Duck Confit. Literally (and I'm using that word on purpose) the best meal I've ever had. Upscale but I also feel like the employees aren't snobbish or take themselves too seriously if that makes sense. As far as I'm aware, the best restaurant in Louisiana.

My brother, from New Orleans and I had dinner at La Truffe Sauvage last night and it was terrific. New Orleanians (if there is such a word) know food and having lived in Tokyo, Paris and Brussels I do too. This place is terrific. From starters through dessert every dish was prepared with creativity and perfection. It was so good that we asked Frank, our totally professional and engaging server, to see if the chef would come out of the kitchen (he did) to thank him personally. Shame on me for not getting the names of the other wait staff who were all great. We picked this restaurant from the internet not having been to Lake Charles and it turned out to be marvelous and on par with any Asian or European capitol. We will be back.

I’m from New Orleans and I know fine dining. This place defines it. Beautiful dining room. Classic French Cuisine, with a Mediterranean twist. Impeccable service. Well thought out wine list. Perfect martinis. But now? They’ve outdone themselves. Like I said I’m from NOLA, but I don’t like creme brûlée. Sorry I just don’t. Someone at my table ordered it. My jaw dropped. I tried it. I still don’t like it, I LOVE IT. This is a must try, it redefines a classic in the best way. I’ll not describe it, I’m not spoiling it for you. Try it, you’ll see what I mean. La Truffe is perfect from start to finish. They even let me make my own French 75’s. Thanks for everything y’all. See ya soon.

When in Lake Charles we always make time to have dinner here. The service and food are top notch.

Overall lovely. Bread does not live up to the standards. Service was outstanding. Ambience was subtle- calm. Most of them were in suites- not us. I must say- old fashion ed falls short by long way. Apperol tasted much better. I believe the catch of the day was cooked to perfection. Desserts were also great.

We extended our stay to celebrate our anniversary at this fantastic restaurant, and it was worth it! The atmosphere, service, and food were exceptional. From the French 75 with St. Germain foam to a Bourbon Old Fashioned, each drink impressed. The Traditional Steak Tartare with truffle chips was a perfect starter, followed by delicious Pan Roasted Red Snapper and Crabmeat Mary Louise—both paired perfectly with a Vinafore Chardonnay. Ending with a light Berry Soufflé made for a memorable night. Huge thanks to the staff and chef—we can’t wait to return! (Only surprise was no espresso.) Highly recommend!

Everything about my experience here was top notch. The service was excellent and attentive. Every single thing we ordered was outstanding. From salad to dessert and everything in between, it was all superb. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, which made for easy conversation at our table. Will definitely be dining here again.

A Fantastic little secret hidden away in Lake Charles! I've lived here for almost 22 years and have never heard of this amazing place. As I am a local guide on Google Reviews and I read lots of other reviews, I came across a wonderful review of this place. I figured I would suprise my wife and take her here, we were both very pleased with our dining experience! We started with an amazing salmon appetizer, and my wife had a Ginger Betty cocktail . The salmon was excellent, and she thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail. We both ordered the Prime beef tenderloin, and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we shared a berry soufflé that was to die for. The service was as good as it Gets! The atmosphere was cozy and warm with an upscale feel. We will definitely be returning.

If you are reading this review, you owe it to yourself to try La Truffe Sauvage. You will not dine at another restaurant that cares more about your experience than these fine people. We are lucky to have them!

I drive between Louisiana and Texas occasionally. I have gluten-free and dairy-free dietary needs for intolerances and wanted a restaurant that would take care of their food. They were able to alter meals as needed for my needs. I was happy to see the care they provided for another table, who needed assistance with transitioning from their walker to their seat. I hope to visit again soon!

We ate at La Truffe Sauvage this weekend and it was really good. To start with for drinks, my husband had an Old Fashioned and I had a mojito. We're both usually two drink people but we weren't really feeling like getting drinks that night. I like my mojito (and all my cocktails) to be sweet, like really sweet hehehe but this was good! Not an overpowering amount of mint. It was very refreshing! We both had lobster bisque to start. It was beautiful! The pastry on top of it was so stunning and tasty. The bisque itself was very flavorful. I could taste the lobster flavor, but it didn't have lobster in it- some bisques do and some don't. Had I known there was no lobster in it I probably would've gotten the scallops for an appetizer. My entree was red snapper with lump crab and steamed potatoes. It also had capers in the sauce. The top of the snapper was so crispy it was like he fried it. I ran my fork across the top of it and could hear the crispyness. I love that the chef didn't put the sauce on top of the snapper and make it not as crisp lol. The steamed potatoes were not really my thing, as I discovered, but they were okay. My entree was good, although I like a touch more salt on the snapper for my tastes, which is a personal preference thing. My husband's halibut was amazing! My husband had the special: halibut with beet pasta and shrimp. The halibut was out of this world flavorful- perfectly seasoned. It was our first time trying halibut. I just recently started eating fish. My husband couldn't finish his halibut so I felt it was my duty to eat the rest of it . I preferred his meal to mine, but they were both delicious. For dessert we had a Grand Marnier souffle with creme anglaise. We had to order it with our dinner to make sure it wasn't going to be a long wait while it was baking. It was probably one of the best desserts I've (I think, maybe, both of us) ever had. Very light and fluffy, yet rich. It had a light citrus flavor. It was one of those times when you want to lick the plate but realize that in polite society one doesn't do such things Oh, and they brought us some truffles with the check. Be still my heart. They were coconut, hazelnut truffles. Something like that. Delish! The presentation of everything was beautiful. That's a big part of the meal for me, not gonna lie. The staff was very attentive- they made sure our water was always full and checked to see if we needed anything else. They always checked to make sure everything tasted good. Honestly that counts for a lot for me. I hate going to a place where what they do is only for how much money they make and they don't care about the customer experience. We both really felt that they wanted us to enjoy our dining experience. Every staff member there worked together for the benefit of the customer. Different people came to our table to check on us, refill drinks, and thank us for being there throughout the course of our meal. If you're ever in Lake Charles, Louisiana, definitely give them a try! I always think about whether I would go back to a place or not when there are other restaurants that we could try. I would definitely go back here to try some of their other items. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed in your fine dining experience. It's fine dining so you will spend a little more than at other places. Keep that in mind. If anyone from the restaurant is reading this, thank you ALL for welcoming us, taking amazing care of us, and making our dining experience one to remember.

Ever since I’ve moved to Lake Charles, we kept hearing people talk about La Truffe Sauvage. Everyone kept losing their minds over how amazing the food here was. But just as soon as we were seated, my wife and I were already blown away! The atmosphere inside the restaurant alone made it such an intimate experience for us. And we felt especially wowed by the incredibly intentional service. I don’t remember his name, but he kindly answered all of our questions about fine dining that we were nervous to ask him. He basically worked with us all night to find the perfect assortment of dishes and wines we wanted for our anniversary. In terms of food, everything was honestly exactly as people had explained. Everything was to die for, especially my prime beef tenderloin filet. And I’m not a huge fan of crab, but even I kept trying to eat my wife’s jumbo lump crabmeat dish! I only wish we would have saved enough room to order all of their desserts! We’ll have to come back for a special occasion to try the rest of their menu!!

Disappointed by the bisque. Great presentation with the topped pastry but the bisque fell very flat of flavor. Tartar was good and the snapper as well. Ended up ordered a bottle of wine that was great as well. Quite pricey but worth the trip if you’re looking for French style fine dining fare. Also ordered the Rockefeller scallops, which came out very hot, but once cool they were perfect temp and taste.

I travel 90% off my time so I dine at restaurants more than I’d like and alone. I had no reservation at 5:30 and was seated promptly. The Paloma I ordered was a no until my waiter checked and yes, they have grapefruit! It was delicious! I started with Duck Confit, wonderful then had stuffed Red Snapper, absolutely delightful! Seth, the sommelier, recommends a tasty red wine. As a single, this was the end of service. When my plates were picked up, I asked for a dessert list and was told about three so I ordered a chocolate brownie with berries and it was good. I’m sorry I didn’t know about the soufflé because that’s something I’d really love! In the end, I sat by a window table surrounded by locals whom know each other, alone with only the sommelier to check in but he was great. This was my first experience but I’m in sales around the area and take clients out often.

After having traveled to 74 countries so far, I must say that Truffe Sauvage is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The service and quality of food is by the far the best in Lake Charles. I even make a special trip all the way from Austin to dine here and see the talented and funny chef/owner Arthur. He really has an amazing operation going with passionate and dedicated staff that are all integral to the experience. Needless to say we will be returning back on our next trip to Lake Charles.

I've been in Lousiana for a year and this is the FIRST good meal I've had in a restaurant. I had the gluten free snapper entree, duck appetizer and creme brulee for dessert. All the food was perfection. There was no wait time for anything. Everything came out perfectly on time, not too fast or too slow as if I timed it myself. Even the check came out as soon as we finished, but not too soon to feel rushed. We were the first people there so we had a few servers. I'm kicking myself for not remembering the first guys name, but he was my favorite. He ended up moving to another table which made me sad because the new guy didn't appreciate my jokes. Lol. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.

Food quality was fresh, plated very nicely. Portions are on the smaller side so you may want to order a appetizer, soup or salad with your meal. Staff was very attentive and courteous and took their time with all the tables explaining the drink lists and menu items. I was fortunate to get a table without reservation, but if you plan to eat here call ahead and reserve a table they are very limited on space and spots fill up fast only being open a couple days a weeks for a few hours a day. I would have rated 5 stars but it was a little warm in the dining area and some things on the menu were just a little off for my taste however it was different from any normal dining experience and was very enjoyable.

Our family had dinner here to celebrate my Mother's 80th birthday. The food was magnificent! Among the highlights were the Maine Lobster Bisque and my Mother loved the the duck.

A gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere classy but comfortable. Frank was our waiter, he was outstanding, the attention he gave us, he was pleasant & professional. The staff here was perfect. The food was absolutely superb, my tasty buds were in heaven. The plating of each dish was beautiful done, such attention to detail. Tuesday evening Jazz is played for a few hours, truly what a treat, so enjoyable. Such a memorable dining experience. Here on business. Highly recommend.

Went for lunch and it was delicious! At our table we had a sandwich, shrimp, steak and duck. All four were great! We split two deserts that were delicious! I can highly recommend this place as the service was impeccable and the food superb! Very quiet romantic restaurant. Beautiful views of lush landscape through floor to ceiling windows. Sometimes they bring in a pianist. Very unique food offerings. The crispy duck appetizer and crab appetizer were amazing as well as the flourless chocolate cake. Highly recommended!

Small, cozy, quaint, and upscale. I came in dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with my coworkers. We were terribly under dressed for this restaurant. We were still treated with respect and dignity, even if the other patrons gave us the stink-eye. Plates start around $30+, appetizers are $10+, so it's not a place I can go daily. Being from DFW, I wanted to try this place at least once. I had the snapper, and it was fantastic! The NY strip my coworker ordered looked even better, I was envious. Each plate is meticulously prepped and cared for, to give the feeling that the chef made this plate specifically for you. Ambiance is lovely, you can really come in to have a couple glasses of wine or beer to relax and have casual conversation. Spring isn't the best time because being so close to the water, termites were an issue... It was out of the control of the restaurant, so they can't be faulted for Nature being Nature.

The service was amazing, and the wait staff was one of the best I have ever experienced! The food was delicious, and you could tell that the chef cared about not only the quality of each plate, but also experience that his food pairings works give the diners. The atmosphere for supper was amazing, and one will not feel out of place in a suit and tie or semi formal attire. Perfect place for a special night out.

This is fine dining at it's best. We have lived or travelled to Las Vegas, California, New York, Montreal, New Orleans, and many other places so we have tried lots of nice restaurants all over. This was truly an overall great experience. We've been here several times, service is excellent, food tastes heavenly, drinks made to order, no complaints. There is always smooth music playing in the background. I've had the Dover sole two times with a buttery sauce and if I had to choose my last meal... This would be the one! I will definitely be back, even if I move away.

My husband and I love this place to deeply, that our move to Dallas has left us with a hole in our hearts... and our stomachs. Every trip to this establishment was a celebration of cuisine and a treat divine. If you have a chance, please don't be put off by the prices, as their servings are fair and impeccable.

While passing through Lake Charles on our way to Houston, we Googled restaurants and chose La Truffe Sauvage based on its Google ratings. I have never reviewed a restaurant before but I felt so strongly about this experience that I wanted to share. Once we found the restaurant we were a little unsure if reservations were required or if it was a restaurant for special events only because it seemed to be located on a country club (BTW, they don’t require reservations, but the encourage it). We decided to check it out anyway. Upon entering, beautiful artwork greets the eye followed by an amazing dining atmosphere. It’s hard to describe the beauty of the building because it was so unique on the inside. We sat by large windows with beautiful plants right outside and the sun set while we ate. The ceiling looked like a wooden loft. Our servers were extremely professional and we had an entire team taking care of us which means our needs were met at all times. The food was probably the best I have ever had all the way from homemade bean paste for the bread to the unique flavors of the salad to the perfectly proportioned entrees. The wine was nothing like anything I have ever tasted and even the coffee, tea, and complimentary cookie at the end was sensational. I had a conversation with one of the servers and learned that the restaurant was owned by two local people and there were only a hand full of employees. I was also told that the ingredients were local. Supporting locals is a plus. The overall bill for two of us was quite pricy (about $200) but this was for several glasses of wines, appetizers, entrees, desert, and coffee/tea. It was worth every penny and maybe more. I cannot wait to return.
